Great place to visit and it takes almost 1 hour to reach to see lord Shiva. Trek is about 2.5 kms and the view from the top is just stunning which cannot be justified in words.

We visited the temple on 25th Mar and it was a serene experience at the top. There is a divine energy at the place which you would clearly feel. There are two approach roads to trek start point (Kullu side and Kasol side) and we chose the one from Kasol side (Charrour Nallah) but be careful do not follow the google maps route blindly on your own car. The route is a dangerous dirt road of about 11km and a proper 4X4 and a local driver is the only option. Do not risk your own vehicle you will get stuck after the first 3-4km of ascent. Taking the Charrour Nalah route however saves the trek time since the backside drop point for trek starting point is much near to the temple compared to the normal trekking route from Kullu side and we found this jungle route relatively easier as well but its better to have a local with you since the jungle route gets confusing at some points.
We were very fortunate to have come in contact with Ajay Jamwal (+91-9816594011). Such a nice soul he is. He drove us in his own Bolero 4X4 and even accompanied us throughout the entire trek so that we do not get lost in the jungle trek. He is a wonderful host and made sure we are comfortable throughout the day. People like Ajay ji are the reason you come back from mountains with a smile.

Awesome tracking experience. By mistake we took longer and not so common route and had to climb for 1 km. However the view from the top was worthwhile. Very calm and peaceful. Divine connection.

While going from Manali to Kullu u can also visit this Temple of Lord Shiva which is situated at a elevation of 7484 feet from the sea level which is located in Kashwari village of Kullu District
There are two pathways leading to this temple
One is from Kullu and that route is being developed for highway so there is traffic jam over there
Another route is from The road leading to Kasol but this road is very dangerous
Few things to remember if u r taking Kasol route
The starting route from Kasol road to the temple is slightly dangerous and u need to drive vary carefully
Once you reach at mid way u had to hire 4x4 gypsy from the locals who are going to charge 2000 to u for taking u to the mountain from where u had to track the mountain for at least 2 KM and remember there are no signs on the mountain to lead to temple u had to find the route with footprints on the mud
We are thankful to our drivers Mr Suraj thakur and Mr Rakesh who drive us from that very dangerous road but when u reach the track and u reach the top of the temple u will find goosebumps in your body
The energy will automatically gets rejuvenated and u will see the most breathtaking views of Kullu from there
The temple is historic as it is believed that once in every twelve years Godess Parvati gets angry on Lord Shiva and she throws light on the temple with which the Shivling got destroyed and the same is again fixed with the help of butter
If u had energy and u must visit this place
Ur trip to Kullu Manali is incomplete if u did not visit here
I am also sharing the mobile number of Mr Suraj who took us in his gypsy for temple 8219948776

Bijali Mahadev is a temple located at the top of a mountain overlooking Kullu Valley. You can board a bus from Kullu, it takes around an hour to reach to the last Village on the way. From there, it is a trek of 2-3 hours to go up, and 1-1.5 hrs to come down. Last bus leaves at 6 PM, so make sure you reach the base by then.
The place provides excellent views of Kullu valley, you can see Bhunter airport, and most of the kullu valley from there. Worth visiting.
Jai Bijali Mahadev!!

It was a full day journey from Manali. Good to be there in the morning. Wear a good trekking shoes as the path is quite steep. But the view along the way and at the top is absolutely breathtaking. A 360 degree view of Kullu district. Enjoy a cup of hot tea and maggie before heading down.

I and my wife carried the trek on 8th March 2023. The trek is mesmerizing surrounded by deodar trees. Though the trek is little steep, but thevclimbing can be done easily in 2 hrs pn foot. At the top near the temple there r several tea stalls. The journey is really a life time memorable tour.

Can we visit bijli mahadev in month of January?
Is it safe?
Escrita el 22 de enero de 2019
I am not sure. During our visit in November it was cold, and your time would depend on snow fall as it hits 8000ft. With bad weather, it would not be a safe or fun hike.
