Tried to visit in August 2021. The museum was locked and the pub no longer holds the key. They don't know who has the key to the museum now. A sign in the window was so faded that I could only make out a few handwritten letters and numbers. Brambles were starting to encroach on the path to the door.
The outside of the building is still interesting, as it's covered in stone tablets that commemorate the founding of the school and the trade unions and individuals that (I assume) helped to pay for the strike school.

A very interesting visit. The key is kept at the local Pub so that you can enter for as long as you wish.

We had seen the story of the Strike School on TV recently, and decided to go for a drive to have a look for ourselves!
Great place to learn some history about how brave people were to take on Authority and win!
And have a look at the little church next door! Wonderful!

The story of the strike school is an inspiration to everyone who is not a conservative.
It is enough to bring tears to your eyes.
Seeing names like Leon Tolstoy on the paid for bricks is fabulous.
And helped by the fact that The Burston Crown is where the key is kept and is by far the best food pub for many miles.

What an interesting visit this was, and how fascinating to see and read about the history of this tiny school. A real insight into a slice of English social history. Recommended!

This school museum located in a small Norfolk village is really worth a visit as you can wander around and read about the longest strike that occurred there and which lasted for over 25 years. There is a sign on the door which tells you that to view you just pick up the key from the neighbouring bungalow returning it after your visit. We spent about 30 minutes there which was long enough to read the information on display.

Went to this last year and found it very good: well organised, interesting and informative. Jeremy Corbyn somehow found the time to come and speak, added bonus!

This is a lovely museum set in a quiet and warm village in south Norfolk.
The museum is easily accessible and allows for everyone's interest with way to read and understand educational stands and an unchanged early 20th century building which housed the school and still sees a yearly rally to celebrate the longest strike in history.
Follow signs for Burton just north of Diss.
A must see when in the area.

It's free but small. A very interesting museum charting a remarkable and significant event in the battle for rights for working families. I'm no socialist but it still marks an important part of our history.
