We came here as part of a society, and from the moment we booked until the time we left, we had a very easy, fun and highly recommended time there. Breakfast was really good (compliments to the chef) the bar staff were really pleasant and fun whilst the Pro shop staff were equally good. The course was in fantastic condition (our golf however didn't match up) so we will return later in the year to try it all again. Thank you Lydd GC on a really enjoyable day.

Golf course for me are based on: Pace of play, condition, quality, layout and most importantly price.
Clearly Lydd ticks all the boxes here. Won't go into detail for each but despite the car park looking busy and the club house empty when I arrived I still managed to get round in less than 4 hours (temp was 36°c so it was a leisurely pace rather than being held up)
Can't really comment on club house due to Covid but the staff were friendly enough.
The course was expectedly dry but the greens were still in good condition (noted an earlier review criticising this) and I walked away with 27 putts so not bad at all for me.
Bunkers: Why no one has mentioned these us beyond me, they are bigger than some beaches I've been on, I think the longest one must stretch 50 yards of not longer. Theres also plenty of the to find.
Overall a great course for less than £20 a round (clearly dependant on when/how you book), I'm not sure if I had a great game or if the course is an easy layout as I finished 10 over par with 3, yes three 6s on the card.
Either way I'll be going back.

They say, ‘if something seems too good to be true it generally is’ So when you on the radio “Lydd golf course play for £10 you may rightly think, ok it’s either wrong or the course is, well, poor. However this is one of those rare occasions where it was true and I have to say, deal of the century.
Now there are some issues so let’s get some of them out of the way, but bare with.
When I pulled up, I like to feel I’m at a golf course, it’s a special day out. It does feel like that but I found myself saying “oooookkkkkk” To the left of the club house were some worn out looking golf carts, that Del boy would be selling, and to the right a lorry container which really needs to be moved out of sight. The spoil the look of the club house and the club,
Ok £10 for this round like I say, it is easy and justified to think the course won’t be all that.
Please bare in mind Take plenty of balls is all about the average weekend player. I have played on many courses, in many places, and this is a little cracker, and if you’re a novice it well send you crackers.
So Into the Pro shop was really friendly and helpful, still not sure handing over £10
This is long course over 6200yds of the yellow tees and a half marathon of the white. Unlike far too many courses, has I found out via lots of balls, you really have to pick your way round.
Hole 1, short par four, 2 keep it straight then 3 to 17 can start to give your score card a bit of a kicking, especially if your just are blast it type of player.
The fairways are wide enough to give a little grace, the designer wasn’t totally heartless. I sometimes break down holes on a review, but not this time, why spoil your fun. Statically placed lakes, and there are plenty, hidden bunkers, where you may think I’ll just drive over that or cut the corner on the dog leg, but beware.
Dog legs with a lake or bunker if you come up short and lakes or bunker it you over cook it, all makes for a thinkers day out. Then there is the tough rough, its everywhere. ‘So the hits just keep coming’
There are risk vs rewards on so many holes but get it wrong and you will be punished, play it safe, then play the right club and straight or you will be punished.
Tricky bunkers, (right of the green on 17 springs to mind) If you close to the front then you’re going sideways and add a shot to the card.
Played on a claimish day, but flat and open this course is, so open to wind, then it’s a whole new game, another day the wind might be different strength and direction, a whole new game. Bring everything including the kitchen sink, you may find a use for it.
The greens are large, testing and in excellent condition, with only a little bobble here and there but it was the end of the day.
The course itself was in really good condition. The only real criticisms on this would be, there are alot of pot, type holes as you walk around, white T box on six, around the right bunker on 7 were really bad. Grass is needed in certain areas and some other T boxs areas were a little scruffy.
I couldn’t figure why this slip in the attention to detail had been allowed to happen, given the rest of the course and greens are in such good shape.
With some TLC and a little investment, this course would be punching well above its weight.
Absolutely enjoyed playing this course. I am an average player and took a little pounding pounding, but so much fun. It’s you vs the course and elements and I can’t think of a better course in the area to improve your game.
When back, well be back on there. I took a slight kicking in the middle part and turned into a little suffer fest, so we have a score to settle.
Anyone thinking of playing this course I strongly recommend you visit the clubs website and look at the course details and take notes on distances etc. Perhaps the club could print out course guides for poor unsuspecting 1st timers.
The club house is small but really friendly with a nice driving area out the back.
Overall this course as to be on any play list for this part of Kent.
Overall, even handing over full price of 18 nuggets with a bacon roll thrown is worth every penny, £10 a round is an absolute no brainer, go play.

It's a tougher course than some of the others around the marsh as it has more bunkers, water and it is longer.
There is some rough but not as much as other courses.
It has some nice views as its surrounded by fields and a couple of the holes have a great view of Lydd airport.

I used Lydd Golf Course as a setting for my parents 50th wedding anniversary and the overall experience was amazing. We used Jaime to help plan and organise the party. She took everything we threw at her in her stride. I am based in London so getting to the venue on a regular basis wasn’t possible but Jaime would assist in every way possible. From chasing guests, arranging disco and sorting out the food. Overall I can’t thank the guys at Lydd Golf Course enough for helping to arrange such a memorable night for my parents. Thanks Mark & Amanda.

Decided to try Lydd for the first time. Everyone had told me how nice it was and my game was ready for it. What it wasn’t ready for was the terrible condition the course was in. I know we had a hot summer but many other courses still have lovely greens but at Lydd they were in an awful state, even robbing me of a birdie due to the lumpiness!! Certainly not worth the fee. Won’t go back until it’s sorted.

Went here with son in law, both off maximum handicap. Easy to hire clubs, trolleys and book cheap rounds. Very testing course, with lots of water hazards. Thank goodness we bought lots of balls! Lovely course, which rewards straight drives. Second time around the wind was very strong, so drives became even trickier. Friendly staff in club shop,and behind bar. Definitely worth another visit next time we are on vacation in area.

Course in excellent condition. Long par 4's; quite a lot of water, so take a spare ball ! On Wednesdays, £15 for 18 holes, plus a bucket of balls, plus a bacon butty. It's a no brainer. We shall certainly go back.

Played the course on Wed 30th July. The course was in a very good condition with excellent greens. Congratulations to all concerned with the upkeep and friendly reception given.
Very good value for the green fee paid I would recommend you give it a try.

We speelden hier met onze golfcub Ieper open. Lydd gc is een semi links golfbaan met vele waterpartijen. Zelfs de geoefende golfer doet er goed aan om de nodige golfballetjes mee te nemen. De baan is uitdagend, lange fairways en mooie greens... niet te snel, precies zoals het moet. De ciabatta and beef sandwich die de keuken voor de groep klaar maakte was heel lekker en het onthaal was bijzonder vriendelijk. De naast gelegen landingsbaan is niet storend omdat er alleen maar kleine vliegtuigen landen. De greenfee van 20£ is natuurlijk ook bijzonder aangenaam.
