We accompanied friends to this lovely vineyard for a wine tasting. The vineyards were lovely and the outdoor seating options looked out over the vineyards. We had a wine tasting and every wine was delightful. Waitstaff were friendly, accommodating and professional. What a lovely choice among many in the Williamette Valley.

We have loved Domaine Serene wines for years. Their Pinot Noirs are some of our favorite in the world. We have visited the winery and new “clubhouse” (stunning!) twice in the last two years. What an amazing property. As a club member, the tastings are incredible, with attentive staff giving you access to about everything they have. And the member events including the dinner we attended are top notch!

Please, read this before you visit this winery (if it is your first time).
I came to Domaine Serene winery with high expectations…. I left with a memory to remember forever…. Not just exceeded my expectation.
I came to this winery to taste wines (estate wines only) that I cannot get in any store or restaurant, those exclusive to members and see if I still like those wine as those I get from the distributors…. And the experience was amazing.
I tasted wines from three of the seven vineyards and all are top notch. (Grace, Bradford, and winery hill).
Although I made the reservation for the estate wine tasting, when the wine specialist seated us, he asked what we are looking for at this visit, so when I told him why I am here, he said the tasting option on this list is not for me (it is an introductory for those the familiar with their wine) and he recommended to customize it for us, which he did and with all honesty, I would say it was impressive. We tasted 10 different wines which all exclusive to members and the bottles prices ranges from $150to $405.
So, my rating of those we tasted with no/yes to purchase or add to my cellar:
#1 Aspect Chardonnay 2021 ….. 91p no
#2 Montrachet 2020 ……94p yes
#3 Domaine Serene winery hill 2021 …. 94p yes [not rated yet by WS] 96p by decanter
#4 chateau de la Cree santenay 2019 …. 89p no
#5 winery hill 2015 …. 94p [WS 93p] yes a favorite I prefer it over 2021
#6 aspect Pinot noir 2019…. (Blend of 3 vineyards; Bradford, Grace, and cote’ sud )…. 94p yes
#7 evenstad Pinot noir 2012 …. 92p ok
#8Grace Pinot noir 2016 …. 95p [92p WS]
#9 monogram 2018 … 95p loves it reminds me with best Bordeaux wines. Full body.
#10 evenstad 2008 …… although good but past due to me as it lost the fruitiness . (I asked for it So we know what 2008 retrospective tastes like, before I decide to purchase it.
So, Domaine Serene was my No.1 before my visit and stayed No.1 after my visit.
My recommendation to any one visiting this winery, take advantage of the opportunity of being offered to customize the tasting if you truly appreciate this winery and serious about it and remember if you are looking for wine less than $50, this winery is not for you ( yes, Domaine Serene has many wines less than $100, but they are for the unsophisticated palates.

This is just another vineyard like in any other country, with rows of plants and a beautiful garden n building if you have the resources. That’s the wow factor.
For the drinking experience:
In France, you have to be invited to visit the chateau, as the chateau don’t deal with walk-in and don’t sell off their list and direct to consumers. They protect the distribution channels.
In Australia, you pay a minimum tasting fee ($20) n drink to your content. You can buy the bottles direct from the vineyard.
Here in America, you have to be a member ($600 ? a year to get 6 bottles) to feel welcome and pay a large fee ($50 ?) for tasting if you are a walk in guests like most of us on a holiday. In other words, you can’t be a casual drinker to enjoy the experience, nor can you get the better bottles as the better bottles are kept for their members.
We spent about 10mins and grab 2 bottles ($130 n $80 each) of what is available and we known it cost a lot more in the vineyard than the local shops.
I fully agree with what others mentioned… the vibe is missing and the stuffy and snooty atmosphere is something like a u feel when you step in. Only members are welcome (as seen in the carpark). This has to be part of the staff training (EQ) that is missing.
Talking about the caves, looks more like someone dining area than an underground cellar.
Being tourist n have been drinking quite a bit in our life, and while visiting Newberg, we just came to grab the bottles we knew what we wanted. Since we know we can’t get them at the bottle shop because only their members get them.
Tip: if you want to learn more about wine, you better off at the lesser known vineyards and they were provide more info and education on wine cultivation. They would have more time for you.
In summary, if you want to visit, just take your photo of the main gate n depart.

This place was SO stuffy, unfriendly , rude , and cold.. they had two tables and said they were all full , but could have a glass wine (80.00) a glass)? go wait in other room someone will be right with you, the room was empty and cold no view? we waited 10 min, no one ever came.. we got up and walked out... was awful. so snooty would never go here or recommend..

Out of the dozen or so wineries I have visited in the region and the experience with Michael Caples at Domaine Serene has been the best to date. He was extremely knowledgeable, informative, professional and able to customize everything to my taste profile - even further as we went deeper into the wine list.
Very impressed with the wine, ambiance and customer experience. Would definitely recommend for wine drinkers of any experience level.

It was an OK vineyard. I didn’t enjoy the wines but enjoyed the host. They aren’t very personal and have absolutely no qualms about reminding you that you’re not a member, which is off putting - but I digress.
It definitely wouldn’t be a place where I went out of my way to visit and I’ll more than likely never be back 🤷🏾♀️
$50 tasting and it’s waived if you spend $100 on wine only 👎🏾

I had the pleasure of visiting Domaine Serene recently for a wine tasting experience, and I must say it was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Melina, whose high-spirited and warm personality set a positive tone for our visit.
Our host, Celia, provided us with a memorable experience. She not only welcomed us to a surprising list of wonderful wines but also made it personal by sharing one of our favorite white wines with us. Celia struck the perfect balance between being educational about the wines and gauging our interest in specific details.
I must also mention Charles and Alex, who, like Melina and Celia, welcomed us warmly. It's clear that the people at Domaine Serene play a crucial role in making each visit special.
While the spectacular views are undoubtedly a draw, it's the wonderful people and their beautiful personalities that truly make Domaine Serene stand out. Their dedication and warmth are what keep us coming back. The wines are exceptional, but it's the people who are the heart and soul of Domaine Serene, and they are what make each visit a joyous experience.

We had a terrific tasting experience with our friends. Our host Alex, was knowledge and his attention to detail was incredible and of course the wines were fabulous. Very enjoyable and memorable experience.
