A little bit of history
jul. de 2020
The museum was closed when we arrived but we walked around the grounds and looked inside the cottage. I love history so really enjoyed the time we spent there.

You would never guess this was run by volunteers only- very professional, friendly and helpful team.
Very well presented museum, cottage, slab sheet full of juice industry and agricultural equipment and 2 hectares of lovely grounds full of interesting mature trees.
Dont be afraid to ask for a tour at no extra cost... the volunteers are a wealth of local knowledge.
The price is a bargin.. $5 for adults, $4 concession and $10 family
Highly recommended for anyone of any age.

Located in West Gosford just of the Central Coast Highway, a little cottage well worth taking a look at, part of our history, well presented & the volunteers will answer any questions, a little gem tucked away in suburbia, very interesting especially for children.

Trip down memory lane

Loved the memorabilia and the historical information that can be gleaned. A new appreciation of pioneer life and the hardship our forefathers and mothers endured. A credit to the volunteers that keep it open and the entry fees so low. Every exhibition was worthwhile and a history lesson in itself.

This is a hidden gem on the Central Coast. Apparently open Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Staffed by volunteers and I think well worth the $5.00 entry fee. The convict cottage where Henry Kendall stayed is just amazing and we're lucky it has survived.

I have a Social Club and we have been twice to this fascinating Museum and enjoyed ourselves immensely with the very friendly volunteers. It's a small fee and I supplied my own scones, cakes etc and the tea/coffee etc was supplied. Totally recommend going back in time with the Henry Kendall Cottage.

The cottage was the home for a time for the famous Australian poet Henry Kendall most famous for his poem "Bellbirds". The cottage is circa 1838, there is an historical museum containing interesting and historically interesting artefacts. a slab shed used by the citrus industry, a machinery shed showcasing historical farm equipment as well there is an historical wash house and a 2 seater dunny.
We found our visit to this delightfully enchanting facility a fascinating, interesting and informative experience.
The volunteers are knowledgeable, informative and most friendly. All in all a wonderful glimpse into the life and history of the Central Coast region.
