The Chalmers Street cobblestone area is a throwback to the 1800s when horse and carriages traveled on these rocky roads. Chalmers Street is in the French quarter and historic homes line the street.

The "Pink House" is located in the heart of Historic Charleston, and is a great place to begin your walking tour since it is near so many historic sites. There are not that many remaining coblestone roads, and none can be better than this one! LOVED THE SETTING. This house is considered the 2nd oldest residence in Charleston and was reportedly built between 1694 and 1712,

There really isn't anything to do at the site, nor is there a detailed plaque explaining the building's history. After seeing the house, we learned that it was a pirate hangout, which would have intrigued my kids.

The Pink House, an historic house and art gallery located at 17 Chalmers Street in Charleston, South Carolina, isn't to be confused with the Pinke House restaurant in Savannah, Georgia. Built between 1694 and 1712 of pinkish Bermuda stone by John Breton in the city's French Quarter, is one of the oldest buildings in South Carolina and is the second oldest residence in Charleston after the Colonel William Rhett House. The tile gambrel roof dates to the 18th century. In the 1750s, the building was a tavern. The artist Alice R. Huger Smith used the house as a studio in the early 20th century. Today, it features an art gallery.

The Pink House is the Oldest House in Charleston and is located on the Rocky street- Chalmers Street. It is worth seeing if you're in the Market Street Area.

It's right across from the Slave Museum.
This is the oldest house in Charleston and it's worth seeing.
We might have gotten a little more out of it because we went on tour.

No longer an actual attraction. This is the personal home of someone and can only be viewed from the outside. It's still cool to swing by and see, though I wouldn't make a trip just to see it.

You can't go in as mentioned in other posts but you can look in the window and the mail-slot. It's good while on a waking tour of Charleston (we used oyster point historical walking tours). The place just sold for $1.1m and is only 1,085 square feet. Been sitting for a year or so while the owner decides what to do with it.

It's amazing to see homes built so long ago and still be standing for us to enjoy them great place to stop by walking around Charleston love to take pictures on the cobblestone streets nearby

If you are walking through Charleston, it's easy to stop by this attraction. All you can do is peer through the windows, but knowing it's the oldest home is pretty neat! Cobblestone streets only blocks from a historic graveyard and market street.
