We took our granddaughter Andie there to try out the fishing there. It was a wonderful experience. We used the bamboo pole with a barbless hook and the bait they provided us.
We didn't know what to expect when we arrived ,but the reviews were great. I figure if it was half as good as the reviews said, it would be a fun adventure with a lot of action for Andie .
IT WAS AMAZING!! The fish started biting within seconds of placing the bait in the water. It took a little bit to figure out how to catch and bring in the fish for Andie. But then she caught a ton of fish . Little ones at first but then started catching some really large fish.
What a wonderful way to introduce a child to fishing. You can get the fish clean and cook there also.

My 12-year-old son and I fished for about an hour and a half, caught dozens of tilapia, had a great time, and the staff deep fat fried our biggest ones. The fish was served with rice, pineapple and a nice side salad. It was super fun and super good.

Visiting AAF's private pond)s) is great for the little ones who have little exposure to bamboo pole fishing. Catching fish is a NO BRAINER. It's sooo easy, my nephew & grand daughter got BORED after 1.5 hours of fishing. During the 45 minute drive from east Honolulu, the talk was to catch something, maybe. Within an hour after hooking 20+ fish, the goals changed to catching, cleaning, cooking & eating the biggest fish caught. The taste & textur of fresh is memorable. You rent a pole ($15) which the 2 little ones shared (not knowing initially what to expect). AAF provides you with a small bag of bread dough. Bring hats, umbrellas, water bottles, sun glasses, sun screen & beach chairs. Expect a hot sunny day so prep accordingly. I suggest fish for up to an hour, then take a break in the shade; rest & re-hydrate. Most of your catch will be tilapia. Watch out for the sharp dorsal spines when taking a fish off your barbless hook. You're extremely lucky if you hook a white perch. The biggest compliment to AAF fishing is our 2 little ones wanted to go back the next day!

Our visit was a disaster. We tried to catch prawns...nope. Not a one. Fished on the ponds which was okay, except the cane poles are cheaply and inadequatly rigged . They are awkward to handle and you cant fish far from the bank at all. We made the tragic mistake of asking for our catch to be cooked. It was beyond awful. Dirty grease..nasty. Couldnt eat it. Should have paid attention to the family who walked off and left theirs in front of us.

If you're looking foe something to do with the kiddies, come here. I like to fish, but tend to have bad luck. I never score on the ocean, and lake fishing is hit or miss for me. Usually miss as I tend to get my line snagged. But I can throw! Anyways this place is a man-made pond and ur sure to get fish. Mainly tilapia. Just throw ur bamboo rod in and wait. Many times, the fish grab the bait, they're sneaky. My parter stated to put the bait all the way up and cover the entire hook. No luck for me. I used a pea size, kept it close to the hook, and bam! Fish.

I won't repeat what others wrote for pricing (check Yelp)That'd be redundant. So in a nutshell, it cost $15 for the rod, pellets and bait.
When ur done, if u want to take the fish home, they weight it. It was $4/# for tilapia and we chose 2 of our biggest ones. It cost $16. We then decided that we wanted them to cook it. Frying was $6 and steamed was $7. We chose one of each.
So for 3 of us it costed in total $74.They also tack on 1% if you use ur credit card. It was a little steep, but for 3hrs of fun, was worth it.
Pick ur biggest fish as when they fry it, you lose a lot of meat. We chose salt/pepper and it was very bland. He put the seasoning on after it was fried. Given that no one ate the skin, there was only a bland fish taste. We shredded the fish and used it for tacos. The other steamed fish was pretty meaty and the cilantro garlic flavor was definitely infused. If you ask for it steamed, be prepared for a wait. It took almost 25min for it to cook. And I was starving. That fish didn't go well as a taco, but much better with rice.
Be prepared and wear ur most grungiest of clothes. There are kids there who get really excited so if you're looking for a quiet fishing experience, this is not the place. Also, many of the big fish look like carp, but they said they're tilapia.
All in all, this was such a fun experience that i never knew existed here!

Our first time to do this activity. Fish ponds with farm raised tilapia . There's 3 ponds but they only open one at a time. We went around 10am and stayed till 1pm. My teenage boys enjoyed " fishing". You got to pay $15 for the bait and bamboo fishing poles. We caught huge tilapia about a footlong. Just be care when taking them off the bait. Its
Bring hat, maybe umbrella, drinking water and chair . We will go back again.

Our group included 4 adults and 5 children ranging in age from 7 to 14. It was the first time we did this type of fishing. There are man-made "lakes" stocked with tilapia. It costs $15 per fishing pole (bait included). At first the kids were squeamish about taking the fish off the hooks. By the end, they were old pros -- unhooking the fish and throwing them back in the water. We went on a weekday so there were only a few families there. I understand that on the weekends, there is a food truck serving food, and that they can cook any large fish you catch. Our kids had so much fun, and now know the fishing experience. Bring beach chairs, sunscreen, dress casual -- you'll be touching fish, and there's lots of red dirt (it's part of a farm). Friendly and informative staff.

This is a fun adventure for the kids with certainty for success. Three fishing ponds are stocked filled with tilapia , catfish and grass carp and likely be catching fish within a few minutes of dropping a line. The rate of $15 is very reasonable considering the amount of hours you can spend and the ability to share a pole and includes the bait.

Ample parking, covered cabana to eat a snack, take a break or hide from some minute-showers. The owner Shauna is amazingly welcoming and is really inviting to both kids and adults.

Recommend to bring chairs, gloves, shade, snacks and sunscreen. If you're experience with fishing is casual this is the place to be. Been awhile since you've taken a hook out? Consider bringing a junky towel, set of gloves and pliers for when you do!

Catch and release or bring the feast home. Price is per pound depending on the fish caught. $4 for Tilapia and $8 for the catfish? They'll bag it for you or bring a cooler. Want it cleaned? Hey that's an option too for $3 per fish. Want it cleaned and cooked? On Saturday's the food truck is there and they'll clean and prepare your fish using truck ingredient selection for $6 per fish.

Bring your own pole but you'll still be paying $15 for the privilege and barbless hook provided. Extra bait at something silly like $1.50 a bag. Other options include: Bags of fish food for the little ones to toss into the pools for like $2.00, buy some chips, a water or other items from their farm too. Chairs and gloves may be available for rental too.

All-in-all this is a great outing for the kids and family. #ShopLocal #EatLocal and support local commerce.

Accepts Cash and Credit.
