We had a fun (and delicious!) roux class with Chef Mark, and will definitely look at doing another class next time we visit! It was fun to learn about the history of the food in New Orleans, and about all the various influences other cultures have on the cuisine. We had a great time making gumbo (and learning that making a roux does NOT actually take forever!!), shrimp etouffe & bananas foster. We were having such a good time, I didn't even think to take a picture until we got to the dessert course!!
All the staff was friendly and professional, and this is definitely a few hours well spent!

HIGHLY recommend Mardi Gras cooking school with Chef Preston Numa! not only did we learn how to make great New Orleans authentic dishes, Chef also told us alot of New Orleans history, and from a native! A must-do if you're planning a trip to NOLA. Food was delicious and the Chef was awesome !

The best gumbo we’ve had in New Orleans is the gumbo we made with them. The instructor had good energy and was very entertaining. Each pair of us had our own cooking station so we got to make everything.

We had a group of six and everyone enjoyed the experience. The chef Liam was a great teacher and full of many interesting facts. I highly recommend the roux class if you are looking for a cooking glass in New Orleans

The chef (Preston) was great. Funny, informative, educational, just what we had hoped for. Plus, the food we made was amazing, truly the best!!! We ate so much we were were not even hungry for dinner. Take this class, you will love it. Chef Preston, thank you. Kelly and Scott

We had a great time. Chef Preston made sure we covered the points of interest that we had. He and the food told us a story of the meal we created. Absolutely a great time. We expect we will return to share a good time with family and friends.

Incredible experience and a must do! We took the Roux class with Preston. He was a wealth of cooking knowledge and shared interesting historical facts with us. The food was incredible and the cooking ambiance was perfect. Preston also gave us area restaurant and bar recommendations. We took him up on his recommendation of GW Fins restaurant…wow!…and Frenchmen Street bars/music…fun!. We highly recommend the Mardi Gras Cooking School!!! You won’t be disappointed. Worth every penny! Thanks, Preston!!!!

Liam was great. Good food, good conversation. The best gumbo in News Orleans was made in our cooking class. I can't wait to go back home and recreate the meal.

The cost of hands-on class.

My husband and I were booked for a class the week of New Year's and the chef never showed up. We went to his house and he said he somehow didn't get the reservation even though we were charged and confirmed. He said he would process a refund, but it's been 3 months and my husband also tried to initiate a refund through paypal. Please refund our money and 2 round trip ferry tickets for the inconvenience and disappointment. Thanks
