All a bit average
ago. de 2021 • Familia
Was here with my older parents, wife and kids. We went for the restaurant as my old man can’t walk or stand for long. The position of the table was good, right on the finishing line.

It was a good fun night BUT food was just about ok and took ages to come out. My dads steak was inedible!! Service wasn’t great at all and felt the waitress lacked training. You do get drink service on the table but went to bar a few times myself as hate waiting ages for a beer.

The bookie comes to the table which is handy.

Would go again but maybe not to the restaurant.

Back to the Dogs - In Style and In profit

On our first visit to Hove Greyhound Stadium since the refurbishment we were most impressed with the refresh to the upstairs area. We opted for the restaurant 3 course menu which on a Saturday is £35 for 3 courses and includes a table with an excellent view for the evening, racecard and entry. On a Thursday you can do it for less than £20 - we chose the cooked meat and cheese platter to start with, a very generous board with enough ingredients for a week of lunchboxes and we added some yummy cheesy garlic bread. For our mains we both had Steak, cooked exactly to our liking and served with excellent hot, crispy on the outside fluffy in the middle chips, with tomatoes, mushrooms and peas - to be able to have steak with no supplement on a set menu is a winner before the racing starts. We had a visit to our table before each race from a tote messenger who can accept and help with placing bets that go into the popular tote pool used at Greyhounds, this starts at just £1 and there is no need to bet in every race. We also participated in the sweepstake which cost £5 and this helps raise money for retired Greyhounds and so we were very happy to support and so happy when Trap 3 won the last race and it meant Victoria had won £150. Service was efficient, super friendly and not rushed. We visited during the early days of dining being reopened inside and we felt ultra safe and everyone was clearly following protocols. We enjoyed chocolate cake and ice creams and an Irish Coffee before we left, very full and unexpectedly with a little more money than we arrived with. We were very well looked after by so many colleagues at the Stadium but a special shout out for Kelly who made sure our night was the best night out in ages - Thank you

Nice evening

We had a nice evening, meal was nice. Comfortable you do not have to leave the table, the bring your drinks and take your bets while you watch the racing while you eat. We would go again.

Wonderful evening
sept. de 2019
We have a brilliant evening, the newly refurbished restaurant upstairs felt fresh, as were the bars.
Service from tote table staff was fantastic too, good senses of humour & the racing was so exciting and clean. You can see the greyhounds love to race.

Food was more than decent and a top atmosphere.

Whilst it didn't dampen our night the vile people outside shouting abuse at the public should be moved on.

Great, Cheap Evening
sept. de 2019
Came here with a friend for a mid-week night out and we really enjoyed. We pre-booked the £10 party deal which included entry, bet slip, meal, drink & One £1 bet each which we thought was great.

We got the train to Brighton and then walked was a little distance but we enjoyed the walk as it was a nice day. We arrived and the security were friendly on the door, we got our drink which was a selection of Wine / Beer / Cider etc not spirits etc. We had to go downstairs to get our food, which was either a Burger / Hotdog and chips, the portions were huge and well worth the money.

We found a table inside as it was too chilly outside and placed our bets, we only placed small £2 / £3 bets on each dog. The races were good and well spaced out so we could pop to the bar or toilets which was good.

We enjoyed the races and won a bit of money here and there!

For £10 we really thought the party deal was well worth the money and will return!

How to spoil a great weekend.
ago. de 2019
Alarm bells should have rung when we arrived and saw Police cars parked outside. As we walked through the car park to the entrance there was a man showing somebody his bare bottom and shouting obscenities. We would have walked away there and then but when I rung to book a table I had to pay in advance. We walked past two Policemen stationed at the entrance into the stadium. They must have been anticipating trouble. There was a large presence of obviously drunk young men in gangs in high spirits. I had to shield my kids on the way to the restaurant. The whole place had an oppressive feel to it and is clearly not suited to a family experience. I really do not want to be subjected to that sort of behaviour or language, let alone expose my kids to it. It had a sort of feral, underworld feel to it. We had paid for three courses but left after the main as the food quality was poor and mass-produced and we couldn't face leaving with everybody else. The races? We were so distracted we didn't even place any bets. Waste of time and money. Save yourself the bother.

Grubby, old, surrounded by drunks
ago. de 2019
Billed as a family entertainment location, yet full of drunks and loud hen and stag parties and babies in push chairs. Food was a disgrace with everything over fried and shoved in a presentation basket that looked like it needed a rinse. For a new restaurant It was very much lacking. You also need nerves of steel getting through the barrage of animal rights protesters outside the venue as our coach dropped us off straight in the midst of them which ruined the night from the onset. Avoid at all cost, you can have a cheaper afternoon out in town by the seaside then this out of town monstrosity.

Excellent new restaurant
ago. de 2019
First time at a greyhound stadium, we had a fabulous time. We were greeted at the door by 2 cheerful ladies. We went upstairs to the Skyline Restaurant and were shown to our pre-booked table. The view was great, we were almost on the finishing line. We were served by Emily, who was very attentive and brought us drinks at regular intervals. The food was delicious. Chris (the tote man) looked after us well. Would highly recommend this as a good night out. Only downfall.....there weren’t many bins to put our many losing bet tickets in 😏
