интересно, но не более чем. Специально сюда ехать, конечно, не стоит, но если оказались неподалеку, то почему бы и не зайти на 5-10 минут?
ПОМНИТЕ: к комплексу ведет прекрасная асфальтированная дорога через деревню. Навигатор повезет вас 7км по грунтовке! Не верьте навигатору, как мы, спросите дорогу у местных!

An Outstanding Museum

Prior to visiting Qabala Center we we taken to the archaeological site of Salbir. Here we saw skeletal remains, pottery artifacts, clay pipes that carried water into this ancient fortress - a fortress built and extended upon between the 1st and 11th centuries.

Many of the artifacts uncovered at this site, including earthenware and glass vessels, bronze and gold adornments and weapons are on display at the Center.

Visiting this site was a very appropriate introduction to our forthcoming visit to Qabala Center, which was only a short drive from the Salbir site.

The Archaeological Center was excellent, both in regard to the on-site guide, whose tour was very informative and enthusiastic, but more significantly in the artifacts exhibited throughout the Center.

The displays contained pottery, bronze and silver jewellery, beads, coins, arrowheads, utensils, ceramics and tools.

Some of the ancient materials in the exhibition, apparently, date back over 400,000 years.

For me, the highlight of the whole exhibition was the "Pair Burial Grave", showing a couple buried together as part of a funerary ritual, the grave being 1800 to 1900 years old. Obviously this significant grave has been reconstructed for display within the Center.

Whilst not a large Museum, it was very impressive, the artifacts displayed were excellent, well-displayed and it was easy to negotiate your way through the Center.

If visiting Azerbaijan, this is certainly a site you must visit.

Começa-se num pequeno museu (que não tinha guia no dia em que fomos). Depois vai-se de carro (fomos com o nosso próprio condutor) ver dois locais de escavações com as devidas explicações em grandes placas. Por fim, o mais interessante foi ver o que resta das antigas muralhas da antiga fortaleza de Qabala, que é capa de todas as publicações sobre o local.

We visited the archeological site which is different from the Museum, there were signs on the road when we got near ( our guide didnt know where it was but we used google maps amd was able to find it), a guide met us near the entrance and asked for 3 manat per adults for a tour and one Manat for the car, he spoke good English and was very knowledgeable. He road with us in the car up the hill and explained the 2 excavation sites to us and the old wall where the gate used to be. The fist sight was of the old city. You could clearly see rooms and a sewage system, old pots still half stuck in the ground and animal bones. It was truly awesome then he took us to the next sight which was a burial sight it had three layers the deepest was a pre Christianity grave, the second was a Christian grave and the highest layer was a muslim grave. Then he took us to the ancient wall and explained where the gate of the city was, the views from there were amazing and you could imagine what this place looked liked at its time. The guide explained that many of the artifacts displayed in Museums in Baku are from this site and they are still finding more artifacts there till this day. He also told us there is a small Museum in Gabala city that displays the artifacts found at the site but we didnt visit it. Our kids loved seeing real history right in-front of them. Well worth the 7 Manat we spent!

موقع ممتاز لعشاق الاثريات ، يوجد به مقتنيات تم العثور عليها في حفريات عاصمة البينيا الاثرية وهناك العديد من العملات الاسلامية القديمة وعدد من التحف التي يبدو انها من مقتنيات تجار الحرير في عصر ازدهار طريق الحرير.. يستحق الزيارة للمهتمين بالتاريخ

Small but nice

The center is small but you can tell it is built by people with deep love to their country and its history. The museum is surrounded by excavation sites where most of the artifacts were found. Our guide Hayam spoke excellent English and provided us with a lot of information about the people who inhabited this area for thousands of years. Highly recommended.

современный симпатичный музей , очень ухоженная территория заповедника .
место, куда обязательно надо пойти , чтобы увидеть частичку истории этого края .
места раскопок очень интересные , а башни просто поражают воображение .

Азербайджан. Габала
Музей в Габале вроде бы незамысловат: небольшое двухэтажное здание с минималисткой экспозицией и огромное поле, заросшее травой, словно бы на срытой вершине холма...
И только раскопки, спрятанные  под белые  шатры палаток открывают тайну: за триста лет природа полностью поглотила 2000-летний! город. И следа не оставила. И ты вдруг понимаешь, что под этой зелёной мешаниной осота и клевера лежит огромный город, который к тому же 800! лет был столицей государства.
По краю холма проходила крепостная стена (часть её раскопали и ты видишь вдруг абсолютно современные кирпичи!). У стены было кладбище, на котором горожан хоронили тысячелетия подряд.     И история зарождения и смены религий предельно очевидно встаёт у тебя перед глазами: на самом нижнем уровне захоронен язычник, рядом с ним - то, без чего никак не обойтись в потусторонем мире: остатки оружия, остратки украшений,  чуть выше над ним - зароостриец, он лежит на боку, глазницами к солнцу. Ещё выше - христианин: на спине, со сложенными на костях грудной клетки руками. Еще выше - мусульманин. Как коротко наше пребывание на Земле по сравнению с тысячелетним покоем могил.
И как- то не верится , что наши бессмертные души улетят далеко друг от друга, если наши  бренные кости  лежат в такой мирной близи. И зачем мы воюем друг с другом, люди!!!
  Не были они низкорослыми слабаками , наши предки: мощные кости голени прилегающие к мощному коленному суставу явно принадлежали двухметровому красавцу...
В этом городе было не только кладбище. Была канализация и был водопровод, амбары ,  гончарные и ювелирные  мастерские, и пекарни,  и оружейные, и каменные полы покрывали тёплые шерстяные ковры.
Вряд ли когда -то город раскопают полностью, и будет он спать под победительными травами, все глубже и глубже погружаясь в небытие.  Сколько таких городов на Земле?
Напоследок мы добрались до городских ворот. Они по пояс вросли в землю, обрушились, потеряли в веках стены...
Но в гудящем над развалинами ветре  все еще чудятся то ли вопли хазар, штурмующих стены, то ли грохот копыт монгольской конницы.
Мы сердечно попрощались с экскурсоводом и двинулись дальше, в Шеки.
