Enjoyed the visit here. The house is interesting to tour and the gardens are well kept. There is also a preserved railway engine and signal-box close to the children's play-area. My only gripe was that the parking was expensive

Visited Scolton Manor grounds today - what a delight. Lots to do, friendly helpful staff. Clean amenities and plenty of space for a 3 year old to run around without getting in to trouble. Loved the musical play area and the pirate ship plus the picnic benches dotted around. Would definitely recommend

Great place to take your kids to burn off some energy with various play areas and nice woodland trails with historical information.

Parking was reasonable at £4 for 4 hours (August 2021) considering the rest of the park and grounds were free.

Scolton Manor didn't pop up on any searches for activities in the area but I don't know why as we had a really wholesome day out. It is managed by the local council as opposed to privately or part of a trust so maybe that's the reason it flies under the radar.

Fantastic improvements meant a great day with the two boys, exploring the grounds with the new play areas, trails and house & garden. A new childrens play area has been created with wide range of traditional and modern options. A large Pirate ship is found after a 10-15 minute walk round the woods, which children can play in, on and climb all over. A new picnic area is near by. Then on to the amazing wooden tree house/climbing/sliding Eco House in the woods. My two spent over half an hour with other children racing all over it! The Manor is interesting, the boys decided Victorians were cruel as there were so many dead animals on the walls! Walled gardens are stunning, and the tea room offered an ecxellent range of snacks and cakes. The new railway display, with signal box, steam engine and wooden play train was a big hit with ours and every child there. Great day out, somehow lost 6 hours there :)

Visited Scolton on numerous occasions and it's been lovely. Maybe because of staycastions and covid but I thought it looked very tired. The wall garden however was lovely. Unfortunately we did not have a good experience in the cafe, the coffee being just hot milk and the cake, was fine but three slices cut in three different sizes. Not sure about the recycling of the plastic coated cake boxes either? Saying that it's seemed that there was alot going on for the younger generation especially in the play area and parkland. I doubt we will be back but if you have young children don't let my review put you off

We visited over the half term holiday with children aged 9 and 6 and were very impressed though sad that the new play area - which looked quite ambitious - was still under construction and won't open until the summer holidays. The children enjoyed the existing play areas, climbing wall and pirate trails, the woodland walks were lovely, the walled garden was looking very good and well cared for and the bee information centre very well done. The food from the cafe was well above average and we ate outdoors in a flower-filled setting. For the £3 parking fee, we felt the provision, run by the county council, was excellent.

We took 3 children aged 10, 7, 4 during half term. We were lucky to have beautiful weather.

The woodland walk with the statues was lovely and very shaded (which was great in the 20 degree heat) and as it was half term they had a pirate event going on so kids had fun going through the woodlands looking for pirate themed characters staples to the tree and outbuildings. The Manor House is still closed due to covid. The walled garden and stable is a beautiful area and the plants/flowers well looked after. The bee information centre is a great educational centre for the kids.
1. The maze is in néed of some attention.
2. Be careful, there's rogues pieces of wood on the pathways which my daughter didn't see because she was looking for the pirate characters and ultimately fell and hurt herself.

The tea room as expected is overpriced but the food and coffee beautiful.

The play areas for the kids are lovely with lots to do. Very clean areas.

Its a dog friendly area with lots to do and see and you. An spend a good few hours walking around.

Biggest issues we found that really need addressing:
1. Not enough bin areas.
2. Only 2 toilets open on the whole site which meant long queues. I understand that because if covid they have only opened a few but with the amount of people on site they need to open more toilets.

We would definitely return again some time in the future.

Lots of parking available. Ice creams, drinks and snacks available to buy in car park - very reasonably priced. Tea rooms open but actual manor still closed (Covid). Outdoor play area for children was open - ideal as had 2 separate sections for younger and older children. Tree trail and sculpture trail very enjoyable. Also daughter enjoyed the outdoor musical instruments.

Been to this Manor every year for about 30 years. We go for the annual classic car show, held in the grounds. Usually we are blessed with sunshine, so all is well. The main building is very helpful, with cafe and toilets etc. Those that appreciate nature can walk the grounds etc . No, its not Buckingham Palace, but for the price of everything, its probably better value.

Took advantage of a nice day and decided to go out and visit Scolton Manor, enjoyable woodland walk in a fabulous location, though the Manor wasn't open because of the time year the cafe was, clean setting with lovely friendly staff and a selection of hot food and homemade cakes, with an adjoining room full of books which you can purchase for a donation of 50p or a £1, a thoroughly enjoyable day and will go back when the bluebells are blooming to be recommended for a relaxing day.
