Are there umbrellas and chairs available for beach?
I saw hotel guests on chairs; they were not using umbrellas. The small part of the beach in front of the hotel is reserved for hotel guests; the public beach abuts the hotel's small portion of it. The beach is not quiet. It's like being in the Cove in New Haven - lots of boat traffic, kids, etc. Early morning brings fisherfolk to the rocks. Very scenic but not idyllic.
The hotel's website says they provide complimentary umbrellas, chairs, and towels. Having been there quite a few times I habe never witnessed guests using these amenities. One reviewer is correct though it is a very small beach and open to the public. There is the larger Madison town beach a short walk from the hotel...(turn right as you exit the hotel following the beach...there are a few beach side homes adjacent to the hotel so stay on the beach).
Yes and they are complimentary.
When I was there, it was too cold to consider the beach! The website definitely has a picture of the beach with lounges and umbrellas.
When I was there, I saw a limited number of chairs and no umbrellas. There could be, yet- but I saw none. The beach area right by the hotel is a little smallish. There is a bigger beach area just across the way. It's a dead-end street, so no traffic to consider.
We actually stayed in both types of rooms. If I remember correctly, the shoreline view room was somewhat larger. In my opinion, the view from the ocean view room is definitely better; however, it would be impossible for me to assign a specific monetary value to its worth.
