We were really lucky to find this very special place. To summarise the owners/hosts were magnificent and attentive. Providing a pick up and drop off service at the train station. The view from the rooms are amazing. It is right on the side of the sea with a beautiful beach. There is a hot spa pool which is very hot. The food was amazing, we had breakfast and evening meal. There was great attention to detail with this. You can for a day trip easily walk to the station for a train trip to the next town with hot springs. But it’s lovely to come back to the tranquility of this place. The owners made us a packed breakfast on our last morning due to early start. There is a cute coffee shop at the station and a small supermarket close to station selling all the things you could need.

We (my son and I) spent one night at this great ryoken and if we knew how nice the place was we would have planned a longer stay! The ryokan is in a traditional Japanese style with rice paper sliding doors, madrases on the floor and mats on the floors. Everything very simple, elegant and comfortable. There is an onsen (hot spring) at the ryokan which makes it a perfect place for relaxation. There is nothing better then soaking in hot water in the morning, before going out to explore the nature around Takone, and in the evening, after a long day of activities. The ryokan is located right at the beach and you can see the sea and hear the waves from your room window - extremely nice! If you happen to be there during summer, you will have the great experience of bathing in Japanese Sea. We were there in April and water was too cold so we enjoyed walking at the beach instead. In the morning we were served a delicious breakfast: lots of Japanese specialists, fried fish and freshly made smoothie with fruit, soy milk, sweat sake one charcoal on top - a real treat! And last but not least - the awesome owners who made our stay unforgettable with their kindness, helpfulness and positivity. Japanese people must be the kindest people in the world and the owners of Uminone ryokan are the nicest amongst them all! We loved the place! …
