This hotel has the best service I have ever experienced in Africa. Your wish is graciously always fulfilled. The common rooms and the rooms themselves are beautiful and spacious. My husband and I are vegetarians and we were always happy to eat there. We enjoyed a wonderfully moving night of Rwandan dance and the foot massages after trekking are to die for. Go!! You will not regret it.

Staying at Amakoro Songa lodge for four nights was a wonderful experience. The staff were extremely attentive and genuinely interested in their work and their guests. We stayed in house no 5 (with a fireplace) and it was very comfortable. The bed was a good size and the linen of very good quality. The cleanliness of the entire lodge was very good.
Special mentions to the front of house team of Nina, Patrick, Dan and Claude but this does not mean the rest of the support team don’t deserve a mention. Everyone made our stay feel like we were at home.
The meals were tasty and the soups were our favourite. Every evening after dinner the fire was lit in our room which only added to the relaxed ambiance of the lodge.
Patrick in particular went out of his way to ensure our PCR tests were conducted in time to see the primates. David in the sales team was great with additional information and don’t rely on google in Musanze to get you to the lodge, ask David for directions. They were very clear and precise.
The support team helped us with our gators before our treks and cleaned our very muddy boots after returning. I don’t think my hiking boots have been that clean since I took them out of their box! And then there is the fresh eucalyptus foot bath and rub to look forward to after your trek.
Planting our own tree as part of the lodges local conservation programme was deeply meaningful to us as we were on honeymoon. We will definitely be back to see it’s progress.
I cannot praise the whole team enough.
We will definitely come back to see you all and visit another family of gorillas.

This lodge is all about experience...and the staff go out of their way to create memorable experiences. From the time you arrive to the drumbeats of the Rwandese dancers and drummers, your first sip of the natural fruit juices and warm towels to refresh you, you know you're experiencing first class hospitality.
They have 7 cottages and each designed uniquely. There are no set meal times; they let each guest decide when they want to have their meal. Each cottage has a lovely fireplace that gets lit in the evening and you have a hot water bottle in your bed during turndown. All the vegetables are from the kitchen garden and some days you're lucky to pick the vegetables you want cooked for you or put in your salad. Everything is organic here and very tasty. The chef is a master at his game and satisfies each palate.
If you're visiting Rwanda to discuss the gorilla trekking, the location is very close to the Volcanoes National Park, a ten-minute drive and 3 hours from Kigali by road.
Just one example of attention to clients - we came back from gorilla trekking and our boots and gaiters were muddy, these were removed as we sipped our welcome drinks and scrubbed for us as we waited to have our foot massage. The service here will blow your mind ... I know I will be back!
