Dear guest, Thank yo for your visit and review posting. Unfortunately, paying city tax is mandatory in Amsterdam. Depending on your booking it can be included in the price you have already paid at your agency or online. Sometimes it is not included in the price and than it is to be paid at the hotel. We have chosen to never include it in the price, so it is always paid at the hotel. We are a 5 minute walk to the Leidseplein, one of the main squares full of bars and restaurants and 10 minute walk to the Rijks museum and van Gogh museum. If you prefer to be near central station, yes, then we are a bit far. This is a 45 minute walk of 10 minute tram ride. My apologies if you feel we gave your taxi away. Dear guest, Thank you for your visit and review posting. I am sorry to hear we were described differently by your travel agency than what you experienced. We like to say we are a "no frills" 3* hotel. That means that we indeed do not have airco, this summer was unusually hot for us and we can only offer a fan I'm afraid. Our breakfast is a continental breakfast with different kinds of breads, meat, cheese, jams, yoghurt and fresh fruit. Towels in your room are changed every 2 days unless you leave them on the floor. Dear guest, Thank you for your visit and review posting. I am very sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. We normally do not allocate rooms 3 months in advance unless you have a specific request. If you do not like the room that is given to you upon arrival, please contact the reception and if not immediately, then we will definitely have a different room for the the next day. My apologies for the coffee machine braking down, at this point we do not have another machine available and have to make the coffee the "old fashioned way" and serve it out of coffee pots. I will make sure we have chocolate sachets ready if this ever happens again, thanks for the tip. If something is not replenished on the breakfast buffet, it is not intentionally, but perhaps overlooked by the breakfast staff. This not an excuse, but feel free to ask the staff if you are missing an item. We have never had a complaint about the height of the shower before, but I will remind our reception not to put tall guests in this room. I will take your cleanliness comments to the housekeeping. Dear Veronica, Thank you for your interest in the Hampshire Hotel Theatre District. We do not have our own parking. The ways and prices for parking in the area: - Valet Parking called “We Parc”. This service picks up your card and brings it back when requested. We can only provide the service at any time if you make a reservation in advance. It can be reserved before arriving by calling the hotel at 0031 20 6077900 or sending us an email. The cost of this service is €35-, for the first night and €20-, per any other night. If you do not make a reservation, the times your car can be parked are only between 08:00 and 22:00 on weekdays and 09:00 – 19:00 on weekends and it will take a member of the valet parking about 15-20minutes to pick up your car. - Parking on the street near the hotel is a possibility, this is €4-, per hour or €36-, for a day ticket. The tickets can only be bought from a machine on the street with a credit card and some debit cards, not all. - The nearest indoor parking garage is called Byzantium Q-park. This is €2-, per 17minutes or €68-,per day - Parking at a P&R (Park&Ride). The nearest locations from the hotel are: Bos en Lommer and the Olympic stadium. This is outside the city center, the cost is €8-, per day and you get a public transport ticket to return to the city center. I hope to have informed you sufficiently.
