This building is beautiful with fantastic communal spaces on each floor and impressive decorating of the hallways with art and custom furniture pieces. We booked a two bedroom apartment for a family of four. We all enjoyed the comfortable beds and the rain showers in the bathrooms. However, we felt very letdown by the open plan lounge/dining/kitchen as they have clearly cut corners here with cheap uncomfortable furniture and lighting. It is unfathomable to have great thoughtful professional lighting in the bedrooms and bathrooms and then only have two cylindrical downlights which are directionally pointed so that three quarters of the open living space has no light at night! I could not sit in the lounge and read a mag at 7pm. Only one person closest to the kitchenette could see what they were eating for dinner! It was a conversation killer for us to all sit having dinner in the dark. My suggestion is that someone introduces lamps as soon as possible. Next, the two person sofa was very cheap and clearly meant for lying on, rather than sitting on as sitting upright meant you had a perpendicular sitting position with the sofa back sticking into your lower back. This meant that with only 2 sitting chairs, a sofa meant for one lying down and extremely uncomfortable dining chairs, a family of four couldn't sit comfortably together in the lounge and chat or watch TV together. Next, the most frequently opened cupboard in the kitchen would be the one with the rubbish bin in it. The first time we opened it, the whole door came away in our hands! Clearly, someone had just propped it into place - as housekeeping will have emptied the bin as the last act before our stay, presumably they did it. The door spent our stay propped up against the wall. Furthermore, when you provide a kitchen, sometimes people are going to want to cook! And sometimes, people may want to wash some dishes, like a frying pan. However, they can't do that if there is no dishcloth, scourer, dustbrush or handwashing detergent. In addition, 4 coffee pods for a family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers in a two bedroom apartment was very disappointing. Lastly, being able to have a sundowner or a morning coffee on the balcony enjoying the view would be far more enjoyable with at least some chairs (comfortable ones!) out there. However, if we wanted beautiful views, luxurious bedrooms and bathrooms and were going out to a wedding or something so weren't going to spend time hanging out together in the apartment then we would happily stay again.…
The new M Suites have that squeaky clean very mod ‘grey’ design feel but just relying on being brand new and a bit plush is nowhere near enough to get us excited. Unfortunately the Suites fell short in so many ways. The room was not ready at 2pm check in time. Not a long wait, but a wait is a wait. We were clearly then swapped to another unallocated room as our intended room would have been a while. It was obvious housekeeping hadn’t been near that room as all the clocks were still on the old time, yet daylight saving ended overnight. There are no standard water glasses. The closest things are beer glasses. Strange. A bath in every suite was one of the aspects that drew us in, but it was the narrowest and most inappropriately sized bath we’ve seen in years. Couldn’t believe it! The sofa is absurdly uncomfortable, totally rock hard and impractical - did the designers of the room actually sit on it!?!?!? Clearly not. The tv is at completely the wrong angle/height for viewing from that position. There are two coffee pods supplied on arrival. That’s right - two. Yes seriously. TWO. We arrived back after being out in the afternoon and asked if someone could send up a few more pods. It was like we’d asked for a ticket to the moon!! We waited nearly an hour and a half and then gave up and went for baths/showers so of course we could not answer the door when someone finally turned up. The door had do not disturb showing and yet the person just kept incessantly knocking. When we went out again later we asked the person at the front desk to see if they could now be delivered because we would be out of the room. This time it was as thought we were asking for a ticket to the sun!! ‘But someone has already tried’ they retorted!Anyway, we came back and the pods were there. See if you can guess how many.......just two!!!!! The mini bar was the real deal breaker. Our room had no price list. We looked absolutely everywhere for one. We are not idiots! We asked at reception ‘is there a price list for the mini bar?’. ‘Yes, there is one next to the mini bar’. Wow! There clearly wasn’t one or else why would we be asking? Not sure why we bothered getting the list as it just disgusted us. For accommodation that has no onsite food options - not even microwave meals to heat up in the kitchenette if you are desperate - it is insulting the prices they have put on those mini bar items. Where any other hotel of that standard would supply complimentary still water bottles, they charge $9. We were at least taken by the lovely wood accents around the building and also the side tables and coffee table in the room.…
A luxurious hotel in a tranquil location in the heart of North Adelaide. We loved our stay, large suite, comfy bed, beautiful bathroom, fantastic amenities and a beautiful view across the park. Will definitely be back!
Stayed here for one night using the SA Great State Voucher. We loved our stay at the M Suites, we had a one bedroom room on the first floor. Being a new hotel, everything was beautiful, clean and perfect for a city stay. Full kitchen facilities and enough room to spread out. Bathroom was not as spacious but still had great fittings and felt extremely modern. Little bit of a stroll to get to the city so a Taxi or Uber can be easier in this location. Would stay again!
With all the COVID boarder restrictions my partner and myself decided to have a little staycation and spent a night at the Majestic M suites. We loved it. The staff were friendly and helpful when checking in. The facilities were impeccable. The rooms were spacious and beautifully styled. The additions of a cook top and fridge are also handy if you have a longer stay and wish to spend a night in. The views looked out over North Adelaide and the Adelaide oval. It was just like being in the city except without all the cons such as the traffic noise. There were a number or Wonderful restaurants and cafes within walking distance or you can easily travel 5-10minutes into town. We will definitely be coming back again and will be recommending to all our family and friends. Thank you Majestic M Suites…
