We were very much surprised to find such a lovely guesthouse in a small place like Hopetown! We had the upper room with a large terrace and a beautiful view over the Karroo fields. Frida welcomed us personally and let us feel home immediately. Everything was extremely clean and well equipped with all we need. Also, the beautiful garden makes the venue a plus. Me and my wife can recommend Frida's Guest House to anyone travelling through Hopetown! Henk and Tonny van der Ham, Pretoria-East.

From reading other reviews of Frida's I suspect that it is pot luck which room you get. Ours was dreadful, a garden annexe that was damp, poorly-equipped and desperately in need of renovation. It felt as though as mish-mash of unwanted equipment and fittings had been dumped in there, and I think we were unlucky. If other rooms are similar I would advise avoiding this place.

Lovely stay over. Most considerate host in Frida Her rooms are immaculate clean and very tasteful. She went out of her way to may our stay comfortable and nice . Put s a personal touch to it. It is like home from home , and also very reasonable priced. will go again

We were met by the owner, Frida herself. Very friendly and helpful. Although we did not expect much in Hopetown, we were pleasantly surprised. We had a two bedroom unit (one double bed and two three quarter beds), with bathroom and kitchenette. Everything was very clean, fresh and beautifully decorated. Complimentary soaps, tea, coffee and milk were provided. Fantastic beds (good quality mattresses). We will definitely stay over at Frida's again when we travel between Jhb and Cape Town.
