Mit offenen Armen und voller Herzlichkeit wurden wir als Familie in Mbage empfangen. Für ein paar Tage konnten wir in das Dorfleben eintauchen. Die Menschen machten es uns mit ihrer einladendenden, interessierten Art einfach, die kleinen Sprachbarrieren zu überwinden und mit ihnen in Kontakt zu kommen. Im Bibi Hostel wurden wir super bekocht, die Zimmer sind bequem und sauber. Es liegt toll, um die wunderbare Natur zu Fuss zu erkunden. Der Guide vor Ort ist zudem bewandert in Botanik. Ein Besuch in der Schule hat uns alle, aber besonders unsere Kinder, sehr berührt und nachhaltig beeindruckt. Diese Lebensfreude ist unglaublich. Auch wenn die Reise nach Mbage weit ist, es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall und gibt einen authenthischen Einblick ins Leben in den Bergen von Tanzania. Zudem ist es ein guter Ausganspunkt für den Besuch des Mkomasi Nationalparks.…

Away from the main tourist routes, hidden in the mountains with a magnificent view over the Mkomazi valley and Kisiwani village. Finding it is not easy, but whoever stops and asks, will be helped. Alison, the operator, has 2 local self-help projects, one is for the school and therefore all the kids you meet on the way know where the Bibi Hostel is. Bibi means grandmother and grandmother prepares fine local dishes (to order from Alison). 3 simple rooms with double bed, each with its own toilet and shower. There is still a bit of renovation and waterproofing needed - but those who make it this far will be happy and are also ripe for authentic African country life. There is nothing here - everything is driven up by Same - so say exactly what you want. I recommend to take all the books that you have long wanted to read up here and read on the terrace comfortable with a cool safari beer read - and look up once in wile, until the clouds once release the view of the south side of Kili. Continue to the route to the unknown Mkomazi National Park is recommended. No one there ... day tour without sighting other jeeps still possible (just no lions pack, so probably very few visitors come). I'm waiting for a report until a fitter bike traveler crosses that mountain (think about 1800M). Different - Great experience - Lovely People…

Wir waren 3 Tage im Bibihostel mit Freunden und Familie. Das Hostel ist wunderschön gelegen, in den Pare Mountains. Die Betreuung von Alison war ausgezeichnet. Auf Wunsch holt Alison seine Gäste in Arusha, am Kilimanjaro APT, in Moshi oder Same ab. Wir haben verschiedene Ausflüge mit ihm unternommen. Die Gegend ist wunderschön und man kann ausgedehnte Spaziergänge oder Wanderungen machen. Ein wunderschöner Ort für Individual-Reisende, die das authentische Leben in den Pare-Bergen zusammen mit den Einheimischen erleben möchten. Die 3 Zimmer sind sehr einfach aber sauber, mit Dusche und WC. Ein reichhaltiges Frühstück ist dabei und auf Wunsch kann man auch Mittag- und Abendessen bekommen. Ich kann diese Unterkunft nur empfehlen.Wir kommen gerne wieder.
