Starting with the not so good…we had a reservation and confirmation for a specific site for a weeklong stay, but when we arrived someone was in that spot. The office was closed (Saturday, mid-afternoon), and there was no after hours check in packet that might have told us which open site we’d been moved to. The people in our site have been here before and knew the onsite “staff” that could help us, so we got it straightened out and settled into our new site. (I should note here that it’s now Tuesday and the office has only been open for a couple hours one day since we arrived.)
The pull-thru sites are extremely long concrete slabs. Almost perfectly level side to side. The back-in sites are shorter concrete slabs. No picnic tables or fire rings in any of the sites, but there is a nice pavilion with a grill and tables by the two storm shelters. Being a small park, the pavilion and storm shelters are close to all the sites. The laundry and bathhouse share one coded entrance on the end of the office building. There are two private showers, one being handicapped accessible. For laundry, there are three washers and three dryers, $2 each cycle for both, with more cycle time per extra quarter. There is also a change machine if you need quarters.
No local TV channels, OTA only picks up four. The internet is good, and we’ve been able to stream without any problems or buffering.
We’ve met several couple so far, both long-term and overnighters, and every single one said they’ve stayed here at least once before. I guess that says a lot. I think we’d stay again if we’re ever in the area. It’s quiet and feels safe.
Some good restaurants: RibCrib, El Potrillo, Garrett Wrangler (I’m sure there are more, but we haven’t been to them yet this week). Walmart is on the other side of town. Homeland grocery is halfway to Walmart. Everything is just a quick drive away, even though Ponca City is actually a good-sized town. We have not been bothered by the small airport just up the road, but it’s been extremely windy so maybe they aren’t flying the smaller planes out of caution.

We loved this RV park from start to finish. Everything was wonderful, from the great communications at time of making the reservation, to the perfect site itself. The site was concrete and level, all connections worked flawlessly and sites are spaced nicely so you actually have decent green lawn space between campers. The staff are amazing, so helpful and friendly, and the location of this RV park, just a few miles from I-35, makes it a super choice for in-transit camping or a longer stay to see all the local sites, which are many. Can’t say enough about this place. They even sent us a thank you post card which we received when we got home. A very high recommend for Ponca City RV Park!
