“Decoración simpática”
3 de 5 estrellas Opinión escrita el 22 junio 2014

Me gustó el local por su decoración, está lleno de fotos o dibujos de mujeres muy atractivas a través del tiempo. Como fuimos a comer no me encontré con el ambiente que tanto mencionan en otros comentarios pero me imagino que debe ser bueno. La comida no es tan recomendable, es un lugar para ir a tomar en la tarde/noche.

Ciudadanadelmundo7 from Guadalajara, México:

I'm very happy that you enjoyed the interior decoration and ambiance of Happy Ending and named your review "Nice Decoration."

I hope you can come back and visit soon.

You live in the beautiful and historic Mexican city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, which was founded and named by Nuño Beltrán de Guzmán, after the place of his 1490 birth in Guadalajara, Spain. The name of the Spanish city of "Guadalajara" came from the Andalusian Arabic word "wād(i) l-ḥijāra" meaning "river/valley of stones." Beltrán de Guzmán was a Spanish conquistador and also the bodyguard of King Charles V of Spain. King Charles V subsequently sent Beltrán de Guzmán to Mexico, then called New Spain, to counterbalance the influence of Hernán Cortés who was becoming too powerful. Beltrán de Guzmán later became the Colonial Administrator of Mexico, Governor of the province of Pánuco from 1525–1533, Governor of Nueva Galicia from 1529–1534, and President of the first Audiencia from 1528-30. He also founded several other cities in northwestern Mexico besides Guadalajara. In 1537, King Charles VI granted Guadalajara the coat of arms the city still uses today.

Best wishes for having lots of "Nice" Happy Endings to all your hopes and dreams wherever life's journeys might find you.

Gene, "El Jefe," Happy Ending Cantina, Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico.

ICARDOSO from Cabo San Lucas, BCS, Mexico:

Because you've written 20 reviews, Trip Advisor has designated you a "Contributor." Your comments and opinions are very important to everyone who uses Trip Advisor. Thank you for naming your review "Buen Lugar Para Precopear!!!"

Ricky, one of our night shift bartenders, asked me to personally thank you for all the nice comments you wrote about him. He's one of our most popular bartenders.

It's always a pleasure to read a review written by someone like you who lives in Cabo San Lucas. You and I are both very fortunate to call Cabo San Lucas "home." Cabo is one of the most naturally beautifully and historic places on planet Earth. In 1534, Fortun Jimenez, a Spanish Pilot and Navigator first sighted parts of the southern Baja Peninsula. In 1535, Spaniard Hernan Cortes, and in 1542, Spaniard Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, sailed off the coast of Cabo San Lucas. In 1602, A Spanish Viceroy ordered Sebastian Vizcaino to lead the exploration of the west coast of what would later be the country of 'Mexico." Between 1602 and 1603, Vizcaino commanded a fleet of three ships who sailed from Acapulco, in present day Mexico, to Cape Mendocino in present day California. Vizcaino and his crew named the places they visited and their mapping skills were remarkable for their precision and accuracy of details. Their maps were used until the late eighteenth century to navigate the west coast of the Baja Peninsula and the west coast of parts of California. It was during the 1602-1603 exploratory trip that they mapped and named "Cabo San Lucas," translated into English as the "Cape of Saint Luke."

In 1828, Thomas Ritchie, an Englishman and Sea Captain, landed in Cabo San Lucas and is credited with founding the tiny community. Thomas Ritchie married a local Mexican woman and they began a family. In 1874, Captain Ritchie died and was buried in Cabo San Lucas. I began living in Cabo with my wife and young children in 1986. Two of the first local Mexican friends I made were Miguel Angel Herrera, who was then about 75 years of age, and his adult son, Nestor Herrera Ritchie. Miguel and his life lived in an old home on Cabo San Lucas street next door to another old home that later became the location of Cabo's historic Mi Casa Restaurant. Miguel and Nestor were both born and raised in Cabo San Lucas. Miguel's father was the original keeper of El Faro Viego (The Old Lighthouse), built in 1890. Miguel himself later became the keeper of the lighthouse. When Miguel was young, he married one of Captain Ritche's decendents and began a family. In the late 1980s, their son, Nestor, became the Mayor of Cabo San Lucas. I once joined Nestor and his wife for lunch with the Mayor of Newport Beach, California, one of Cabo San Lucas' "Sister Cities." The largest Cabo funeral procession I ever witnessed was Miguel's. He was buried in Cabo's original cemetery, close to where the Riu Palace is located. "Miguel Angel Herrera" street was later named in his honor. Nestor and his wife still live a couple blocks away from where Puerto Paraiso Mall is located. In 1872, Benito Juarez, the President of Mexico, gave Miguel's father thousands of acres of land, including the beach where Pueblo Bonito's Sunset Beach Resort is located. Miguel later inherited this land from his father. Miguel proudly let me hold and examine the original document President Juarez signed and gave to his father. Nestor later inherited the land, most of which is now developed with 5-star resorts and homes.

Best wishes for lots of "Buen" Happy Endings to all your hopes and dreams wherever life's journeys might take you.

camclean1980 from Fort McMurray, Canada:

You've been designated a "Senior Reviewer" by Trip Advisor because you've written 8 reviews about businesses in 4 cities. Thank you for writing a wonderful review about Happy Ending Cantina and for giving it the highest "5-Star" rating. Thanks for naming you review "Great Place."

You live in beautiful and historic Fort McMurray. In 1778, the first European explorer, Peter Pond, came to the region in search of furs and ended up setting up a trading post. However in 1788, he closed his post and moved it to Fort Chipewyan which is now the oldest continuous settlement in Alberta. In 1790, explorer Alexander MacKenzie made the first recorded description of the area's oil sands. By that time, trading between the explorers and the Cree was already occurring at the confluence of the Clearwater and Athabasca Rivers. The Hudson's Bay Company and the North West Company were in fierce competition in the area. A former NORTH WEST CO post, Fort McMurray was rebuilt in 1870 and named after HUDSON'S BAY CO Chief Factor William McMurray. Fort McMurray was already well established as a Hudson's Bay Company post and continued to also operate as a transportation stopover in the decades afterwards. The Alberta and Great Waterways Railway arrived in 1915 complementing existing steamboat service. The community has played a significant role in the history of the petroleum industry in Canada. Fort McMurray is now considered one of the hearts of Alberta's and Canada's hubs of oil production as is located near the famous Athabasca Oil Sands. Besides the oil sands, the economy also relies on natural gas and oil pipelines, forestry and tourism. Five oil sand companies operate in Fort McMurray.

I'm very pleased that you and your 5 friends visited Happy Ending last November and plan on returning. It was my honor to meet you and spend time getting to know you better.

Thank you for describing Happy Ending burritos as "wonderful and huge." Our "El Jefe Super Burrito" is 8 inches long by 8 inches wide and filled with the most delicious ingredients found on Planet Earth!
