perfect vacation spot
We really loved the accomodation, the downstairs was very spacious as were all 3 bedrooms, upon arrival, all the beds were made up and towels were available for all 4 of us, the cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
The veiws from the front and back of the cottage were amazing, there is a patio set out in the back garden, we sat there quite a few times during our stay just enjoying the view over the Solway. There were lots of local public footpaths for walks, and the local towns were a short car drive away.

Great time with family
Nice property for a family holidays where you want to visit the lake district. Properly furbished and equipped, tidy and plenty of space.

Lovely Stay
We had a lovely stay in the cottage. It was clean, tidy and well equipped. The cottage is in a great location, close to Keswick and Cockermouth, so there are some great walks in the area. Just beware directions to Torpenhow using a satnav. We ended up on a farm road only suitable for tractors and 4 wheel drives! The x box and DVD player were a great addition, as was WiFi, although we only had this for half of our stay. We didn't even mind not having a dishwasher, as the view over the Solway Firth made the washing up bearable. We'd definitely love to stay again.

Clean and comfortable
We had a pleasant stay at this cottage and found it clean and comfortable although basic. The photos of the garden made it look bigger than it is, and it needs a bit of TLC, but the views were lovely! Not a place we would come back to as our kids need more space to run around safely. But a good location for Carlisle, the Lake District and the coast!

Thank You for taking the time to write a review for us. I apologize if the garden wasn't big enough for your larger than average very active family, but it is safe, secure, enclosed and fits its purpose for a holiday cottage this size! We agree that the garden did need attention during your stay, however the weather here had been extremely wet during the summer and we were behind with our gardening schedule! We agree that the cottage is central for Carlisle, the Lake District and the coast and offers as many, if not more extras as any other holiday home; including DVD player and X box and we don't ask for a damage deposit! Thank You for leaving the cottage so clean and hope you received the keys and phone we sent back to you after your departure. We hope you find accomodation in the future that fully suits your family's needs!

Ideal for us, 4 adults + 2 children. Good location, comfortable accommodation.
A 3/4 hour drive into Keswick for walking, the pub within a mile was very good and we were made very welcome.
This was a dog friendly cottage, and as a result when we used the hoover, the floor attachment was clogged with dog hairs and the smell from the hoover was over powering with dog smells. The mirror in the bathroom was too high for some of the guests!!

Hello, thank you for taking the time to write a review. Are you sure it took you 45 minutes to drive to Keswick ?it can easily can be done in 20 to 25 minutes I think! Sorry for the hoover being clogged with dog hairs and the smell, we actually manage and clean the properties we have ourselves, but we were away before your arrival and some friends cleaned it for us otherwise this would have been rectified before your stay! With regards to the mirror in the bathroom, we have noted this problem, however we have never had this problem raised before and there are plenty of other mirrors in other rooms. Thank You again.
