Ruhige, schöne Unterkunft für Familien

Das Gite ist ruhig gelegen und schön eingerichtet. Wir waren 7 Erwachsene und 3 Kinder. Das hat gepasst. Bei mehr Personen könnte es eng werden, insbesondere was die Küche betrifft. John ist sehr hilfreich und er hat uns versorgt mit sehr guten Tipps für Ausflüge.

Zeer leuk familiehuis !

Dit huis is echt ruim. Het geeft 12 personen voldoende ruimte om te genieten van een leuk verblijf. Bijna elke slaapkamer heeft een eigen wasruimte. Dat vonden wij ook echt een pluspunt. De gezamenlijke vertrekken zijn ruim en bieden alles wat je nodig hebt. De tuin is groot en leuk verdeeld in verschillende plekjes. Het terras bij het zwembad, een eetgedeelte bij 'het laatste zonnetje', alsook een groot speelgedeelte voor kinderen. De tuin kan afgesloten worden dus erg handig voor kleine kinderen. Ook het zwembad ( dat bij verwarmd kan worden ) is ideaal voor kinderen. Ze kunnen er niet 'zomaar' in. Ook de speelkamer is een leuke plek voor de kinderen om te vertoeven. De eigenaar ( die in ons geval aanwezig was in een apart appartement in het gebouw ) is erg hulpvaardig, discreet en stelde ons leuke plekjes voor om naartoe te gaan. Op 10 minuten gelegen van autostrade, supermarkt. We hadden een aangenaam verblijf !

Under adverrised

We stayed here with two other families with children. The advertisement does not do it justice on how beautuful and spacious the home is. The kids absolutely loved the pool and there was plenty of toys and games there to play including football, badminton, table tennis and bikes for everyone. The house was equipped for all our needs and loved how we all had our own bog bedrrom and bathroom each. The house is set in a typical South France landscape of Sunflowers and vines in a quiet little hamlet. The beach was half an hour drive and there was a lovely swimming lake in Jonzac only 20 mins away which had loads of kids activities to do. The house had a lovely sized garden which was all secure for the kids and two spacious terraced areas for wine time. After 10 days we were still in love with the house and none if us wanted to leave. Thank you John, we'll be looking to book again once annual leave is approved.

Spacious countryside villa, perfect for a big group

The villa was a perfect place to fit our extended family of 12, including 3 children. We used all 6 bedrooms (for an extra to use the 6th bedroom). The pool was clean and warm, the garden spacious enough for football and badminton, the kitchen well stocked, the BBQ ready for use with a bag of coals to get us started, and the games room full of toys and games. The carer helped with all our requests, and the owner John answered all our pre-arrival questions promptly. We were lucky with the sunny weather, and were able to visit the beaches on Ile d'Oleron and near St. George de Didonne, and a vineyard near Blaye. All in all it was a great place to stay.

fantastisch

Ons verblijf in Chez Nous was fantastisch maar de hulp van Tripadvisor toen de laatste betaling langs Paypall niet wou lukken was beneden alle peil of beter: onbestaande. Gelukkig hebben we zelf een oplossing met de eigenaar kunnen uitwerken.

A delightful villa surrounded by sunflowers and vineyards

This is a large and comfortable villa with plenty of space both inside and outside. We loved the fact that there were bikes available to use and the garden had a badminton net and mini football goals. My only reservation is the fact that the pool is chilly and only heated by some ineffective solar heating if the weather is not boiling hot. Despite this, we had a wonderful time.

Apologies for the pool heater, a small circulation pump for the hot water was failing intermittently and was not discovered until August. this pump has been replaced and a backup heater has been installed.

Lovely house in beautiful countryside

We, nine family members from 8 to 68, stayed here for two weeks in July and the house was very roomy with enough space so we did not feel on top of each other. The bedrooms were light and airy with loads of excellent storage space and bathrooms were roomy and the showers excellent with plenty of hot water. The downstairs is open plan and the living area had plenty of room for everyone although we needed to bring chairs down from the upstairs landing so everyone had a comfy seat. The games room was fantastic and the toys etc for outside use were plentiful. The bikes and helmets were first class and with the variety of sizes there was a bike for everyone who wanted to cycle. The kitchen had all the necessary equipment but only basic utensils which were not really big enough to prepare and cook food for a large family group. In particular the oven was undersized. There was a great utility room which again had plenty of storage space. There were plenty of tables and chairs for eating outside but only two loungers for around the pool. Even with very hot weather the solar heating of the pool was not very efficient and the older members of our family found it very cold - the kids however lived in it! John was exceedingly helpful throughout the planning of our holiday in answering any questions we had and whilst we were there when we had a problem he acted very promptly and dealt with it. The location is quiet in very scenic countryside but still close to a village and a town for all shopping requirements. Sightseeing, the village of Talmont and the beach at St George de Didonne were superb.

Beautiful house in quiet location, with access to many different areas

The house definitely has the WOW factor. For a large number of people its perfect in its layout. We stayed with extended family so there were three families in this house altogether. We didn't feel on top of each other, and having the many bathrooms was definitely a bonus. We had a couple of younger children, but felt assured with the garden and grounds just how safe it was for them. The swimming pool is a lovely size, and the kids on very hot days enjoyed jumping in and splashing about. The games room, and toys were great, there was something for all the ages in our families. A nice BBQ area which captures the end part of the sun in the evening. It is within walking distance of the local village however there isn't really much there, we were able to get fresh croissants and pain au chocolat each morning though, and there is a small shop in case you run out of anything. There is a hotel/bar however when we were there it was closed, so can not comment on how good it is. The location of the property although very remote was a great gateway to lots of different areas. Cognac is about 40 mins away, bordeaux is about an hour, st emillion an hour. La Rochelle is approx an hour, and some great islands to visit not far from there either. The coastal road towards Royan is a lovely drive with different places to visit on the way. Talmont is beautiful, so were merscher and some smaller places along the way. I would definitely recommend whether you want relaxation or would like to do lots of sightseeing.

A lovely huge french farmhouse with pool and gardens

We had a fabulous time at Chez Nous. The house is in great condition and is huge - plenty big enough for our party of 5 adults and 5 children, the gardens are also extensive with lovely views over the surrounding farmland and the pool is ideally located so you can easily keep an eye on the kids. Beautiful sandy beaches only a 35 min drive away, and surf beaches one hour away at La Palmyere. Supermarkets and other conviences only 10 mins away at Mirambeau. We flew to Bordeaux, hired a car (which is required!) and it only took just over an hour to drive there.

Wonderful family holiday home in a stunning setting

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chez Nous. With two families with young children we were looking for a safe house where we didn't have to spend our time worrying. The house has a perfect layout for two families and has a wonderfully large living area.... The bedrooms are spacious and there is ample storage for clothes. Chez Nous setting is simply stunning - unfortunately we just missed them blooming but you are surrounded by fields of sunflowers and vines. The locations is very rural, but the bakery is in jogging distance. The only thing with having such young children was that the pool was very cold and so they could only spend a small amount of time in there.... We took a few inflatable paddling pools so it worked perfectly. This was undoubtedly one of my favourite holidays and many memories were made. The owner was a pleasure to deal with and I would highly recommend this property....
