Stayed here in August of 2020. The place is amazing! The interior is ultra-modern and clean with hardwood flooring throughout that gives it a warm and inviting atmosphere. The kitchen is large with granite/marble countertop and a big island for us to prepare our lunches for our outing. It is well-stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The rooms are very comfortable, and enough for a multi-family accommodation. There's even a kitchenette on the second floor, as well as a living room area, which we didn't use, but again, for a second family, it's great. There is also a very large third floor loft with separate sleeping quarters, which can accommodate at least three more people. The properly is professionally landscaped from front to back. The backyard is very large and private with lots of trees and foliage to provide a quiet environment to entertain. There is even a small creek that runs right alongside the property. The backyard has a large hot tub for relaxing at the end of the day for the grown-ups, as well as a sturdy hand-built play structure for the kids. There is also a large fire pit for roasting marshmallows and hotdogs and just for relaxing and keeping the insects at bay at night. There are bicycles that you can use to ride the beautiful trail just behind the property. We did not use them as we brought our own. The best part is the view the water from the front yard. If you get up early enough you can witness an amazing sunrise over the lake. Or even better, walk across the road to water's edge and listen to the waves crash against the shale rock as you watch the sun come up. The pictures on the website does not do it just justice. You really have to see it to appreciate it. Truly spectacular! It is not a sand beach, but a shale rock one, hence the name, but to me that's a bonus to not have to deal with the mess. The water is clear and clean and great for swimming. But if you're looking for a sand beach, there are plenty in the vicinity. I highly recommend it.

Impeccable cleanliness. Amenities more than necessary. Everything has been well thought out according to the needs of the tenant. Unparalleled location for tours and the beach.

I stayed at Shale Beach House 8 years ago and loved it. I returned this year and had even a better experience. I wonder why it took me so long to go back. This place is absolutely gorgeous. It’s extremely clean, cozy with an awesome backyard where you find a hot tub (yay!) and a perfect playground for your kids. It’s close to the water and to Georgian Trail. Strongly recommended for a vacation or as a weekend getaway.

This past weekend I spent a few days with friends at Shale Beach House, and it was absolutely wonderful. The house has awesome amenities and it is super clean. It is very roomy and the beach is just across the street. There is so much you can do. Very close to Collingwood and Blue Mountain, which offers something for everyone. We went cycling and running. There is an awesome walking /running /cycling path (34 km length) just about 300 m from the house. We enjoyed the fall colours from the hot tub in the backyard. It is the perfect location for any kind of getaway. We will definitely be back!

Our immediate family along with our children went to stay at this beautiful home. The home was in immaculate shape and we had absolutely no issues while we were there. We truly loved every minute at this vacation spot! There are three levels and so each family got their very own level and privacy in the home. The backyard has a play set ( and a hot tub) which the kids absolutely adored and spent a lot of time playing with. Prior to our stay and during our stay Philip was truly amazing. He answered all of our crazy questions promptly and was available for any questions during the stay. He was incredibly accommodating and given the nap schedule of our children, allowed a later check out. I would 1000% recommend this home to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. It’s across the street to a beautiful beach and a very short drive away from blue mountain village.

This house is more beautiful than it looks in the photos. It’s large & well equipped & has beautiful grounds. It is only 5 minutes from Blue Mountain & 10 minutes from Scenic Caves where we cross country skied. We would certainly like to return.

This was the second time we stayed here, the home was as beautiful as it was three years ago when we were here. We were four generations, ranging in age from 22 months to 86 years old. Kitchen is very well equipped. Plenty of dishes, silverware and pans. Always hot water available. We cooked an entire Thanksgiving meal with multiple people in the kitchen at once and had plenty of room.

The Shale beach house was fantastic! Exactly as described plus close proximity to many stores and restaurants in Collingwood. The house was very clean, the sheets were high thread count and the hot tub was amazing! Property manager Joe was there to greet us and was very accommodating with any issues we had.Great spot for a relaxing ladies weekend with a gourmet kitchen to make fabulous meals. Definitely on our radar for a repeat visit!

Shale Beach House is a great rental property for any occasion. We have rented it now 4 times and have never been disappointed. It provides everything you need so packing is easy and the cottage is always spotless! We will be return customers for years to come.

Our second visit was equally as wonderful as the first. Spotless, quiet, convenient location and super comfy. We couldn’t ask for more.
