Nous avons séjourné 5 jours en famille (2 enfants).
Avant notre arrivée Joxean, le propriétaire, nous a donné un maximum d'informations utiles. Pendant notre séjour, il est resté en contact avec nous via whatsapp pour nous donnez de bons conseils en fonction de nos visites.
L'appartement est très spacieux (grandes chambes) et très bien équipé. La cuisine est réellement bien fournie (four, micro onde, casseroles, plats, grille pain, machine à café...). Le canapé du salon est très confortable pour quatre (et sans doute plus).
Tout semble avoir été pensé dans les moindre détails pour que le séjour soit agréable: grands parapluies de qualité à disposition, jouets pour la plage, cabas pour les courses... Nous avons vraiment été très agréablement surpris.
L'appartement en lui même est bien situé: supérette très acceptable à 2mn à pied (avec le cabas c'est facile), possibilité d'aller à la plage à pied (compter 10mn), gare à proximité (pour aller à Saint Sebastien).
Bref nous avonstous été très satisfaits de ce séjour.

perfectly located, wonderfully hosted appartment
The flat is in a wonderful location, 5 minutes from the beach and the town centre, 2 minutes from a supermarket and the train station, and no steep hills to climb to get to them. But if you want to walk up hills, there are fantastic paths just outside the door! The apartment is quiet, and comfy, with colourful artwork all around. We felt right at home. Everything you need is there and it's clean and bright.
Of course the best thing is the friendly warmth and helpfulness of the host Joxean. He greeted us with local cheese and cider and made himself available way before we arrived to give advice on the locality, and this continued throughout our stay. Absolutely amazing support, and exactly what you need when travelling to a new place.

Acogedor, amplio, limpio, con todo tipo de detalles y menaje para una buena estancia. El propietario (Joxean) muy atento y te da mucha información sobre sitios a visitar.
Lo único negativo es que es muy muy difícil aparcar, al menos en Agosto(1º semana) pero seguro será todavía peor la 2ª semana por ser fiestas en Deba (ví muchos carteles de calles donde la 2ª semana no se podría aparcar).
Cuando vienes de hacer excursiones, varios días, tuve que aparcar en la playa(900mts) en zona azul(carísima). Le daría un "Excellent" si tuviera plaza de parking.

Viaje a Deba
Viaje familiar estupendo. Estancia muy agradable y muy buena atenciòn por parte de su anfitriòn. Piso en zona tranquila, cercano a la playa y bien equipado.

Perfect appartment, very friendly and competent management
The owner of the appartment contacted us immediately after booking. Organization of our arrival was no problem. He waited in the appartment and had even organized a parking near by. After having welcomed us with a drink and some cheese from the area he explained everything and gave us some good ideas for our stay. The appartment was agreable, functional, clean and well furnished and corresponded in any respect to the description.
We didn`t have any troubles with the neighbours though we were sometimes a little loud - with 2 children.
During our stay, the owner reacted to any question per WhatsApp within minutes, so we always felt safe and confortable. A big thanks for this wonderful service!

Superbe appartement
Cet appartement est spacieux, très propre et bien équipé, situé à proximité du centre de deba et des commerces. L'immeuble est calme. Joxean, le propriétaire, est très serviable et toujours à notre écoute. Seul point négatif, l'absence de parking réservé à l'appartement. Il nous a été difficile voir impossible de se garer à proximité de l'appartement notamment durant la semaine des fêtes de san roque.

Vraiement, pendant les fêtes de Deba, 14-19 d'Août, c'est le temps plus difficile de l'année pour se garer à coté de l'apartement. Mais on trouve de la place pas plus loin que 500 m. de l'apartement.
Nous travaillons pour que nos locataires profitent au maximum du sèjour.

A great, central location for a stay in the Basque Country
My friend and I from Melbourne, Australia based ourselves in Deba for a short stay in the Basque Country to visit the sights and enjoy the cuisine and we weren't disappointed. We enjoyed the area very much and particularly enjoyed our day trips to San Sebastian, Gurnika and Bilbao.
Joxean was a very welcoming host. He gave clear directions to the apartment, he met us on arrival, helped us with our luggage and moved his car so that we could park our car close to the apartment and then served us bread, cheese and cider of the region. He really couldn't have been more helpful and even guided us in booking the very best Michelin star restaurants.
The apartment was clean and very much as represented in the photos, we had everything we needed for our stay in the north of Spain. The brand new elevators worked very well.
We were also very pleased to discover that Deba is a stopping place for the pilgrim walkers on the Camino de Santiago. We met some very interesting people on The Way of St James and this added to our Basque Country experience.

Joxean's Deba Apartment
This apartment in the charming village of Deba was very comfortable. The kitchen was well equiped, the bathroom clean and spacious and we all loved the red leather couch. The views from some of the windows were lovely. Joxean was extremely helpful and welcoming from day one. He greeted us with a local snack of bread, cheese and sardines (or anchovies?) and poured us the wonderful hard cider that is poured from overhead. He had plenty of maps and suggestions for local activities and food choices. He was responsive to all of our needs during our time there also. The apartment is close to the train station, beach and everything in town. Parking was limited, but never a real issue.
The biggest downside was the elevator construction that was going on at the time of our visit. It was noisy and smelly and the stairs that needed to be climbed to the third story apartment were challenging. Make sure this project is completed unless you don't care about climbing stairs and are out all day. The apartment could also be improved with better lighting and taking off the plastic sheeting on the beds and getting softer sheets. One other point would be to make sure you know how to use the appliances before Joxean leaves. We never did get the stereo system to work, but were able to figure out the stove, dishwasher and washing machine after experimenting and reading the guides that Joxean left in the bookshelf...all written in Spanish only, but with good illustrations.

The plastic sheeting on beds is to protect them, specially from children. As often I don´t know the composition of the group of guests, you make me think of asking for this info before arrival and then adecuate beds.

APARTAMENTO AMPLIO Y BIEN EQUIPADO CON TODO LO NECESARIO PARA UNA AGRADABLE ESTANCIA
Apartamento bien ubicado a la entrada de Deba en una zona tranquila pero a la vez cercano al centro, a la estación de tren y se puede ir perfectamente andando a la playa en un paseo.
También tienen un supermercado grande muy cercano.
No nos ha resultado difícil encontrar aparcamiento cerca.
Las tres habitaciones son amplias y las camas cómodas, necesario para descansar bien después de un día de excursiones.
Deba está muy bien situado para poder visitar otros pueblos y ciudades de la zona sin tener que realizar largos desplazamientos.
Joxean, el propietario, nos dio una calurosa bienvenida y ha estado muy pendiente durante nuestra estancia de que estuviéramos cómodos y ofreciéndose para lo que necesitáramos.
Además nos dio unas recomendaciones de sitios para visitar y para comer los cuales han sido todo un acierto. Sobre todo, si vais, preguntarle por el paseo en barco con Manolo.

great place to stay
Deba is a great place (population approx 5,000). It is safe at all time day and night. There is a real community feel, with children playing late into the night and a party atmosphere - the main street full of people drinking/talking, children playing. At the time we stayed there was live music each night close to the beach. There is a convenient super market 100 metres from apartment. Beach at Deba has large waves which my teenage children loved. We used Deba as a base for travelling to Bilbao, Pamplona, Biarritz, San Sebastian and Bayonne. All were not too much more than an 1 hours drive. My personal favourite was Bayonne. The apartment is large and comfortable and easily fit 2 adults and 3 children. Joxean is lots of fun. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome.
