The House ( it has everything), the property ( well you have your own orchard to pick from everyday), The Location (views of Atlantic and a walk to beach! Yet far enough away from the crowds), The Hosts (professional and incredibly kind - included cooking of traditional food ). Summary - our family has holidayed at this “resort “ for past 2 years and are booked in again for next!! This is an affordable 6 star experience in a beautiful country

The property is situated in a large garden which is ideal for sun bathing, swimming, archery, football etc. Lovely views and a very quiet location. The owners of this property are delightful and could not do enough to make our stay as comfortable as possible. One bedroom has a double and two single beds and has to share a shower room with another double bedroom. As a family room this is fine but if you were going with 13 adults you might find this slightly difficult. Apart from this I would thoroughly recommend this location..

Cabanas Beach House is not on the beach but sits high enough that one can see the ocean in the distance. The beaches in Cabanas de Travira, and all along the coast, are beautiful and easily accessed by boat, or at Barril Beach, by train. Cabanas Beach House has a quiet, private location well away from other homes. The train which passes next door several times a day is not loud and in no way a distraction. The grounds are extremely spacious and great for kicking around a soccer ball or playing a game of tag. There are lots of interesting nooks and carnies around the property to get out of the shade or have a quiet spot to sit. The only large outdoor group sitting area is bon the far side of the pool. The only sitting area with a view of the pool and children swimming was a small grouping of 2 chairs. The house, which is filled with an eclectic mix of decor, is the private home of the owners who move out when the place is booked. The house is situated directly on a little used lane with bedroom windows opening directly onto the road - we were asked to keep these locked when we left the house. The house is large with 5 bedrooms well spread out - 3 with private bath and one bath shared by 2 rooms ... these 2 rooms have the greatest number of beds. The owners/renters, Ana and Jose were anxious to ensure we enjoyed our stay and were frequently in touch to attend to any needs. The barbecue refers to the outdoor eating space which we loved and where we spent most of our time. We did not use the living room at all but lived from the outdoor eating area which is easily enclosed with glass doors. The actual barbecue is a wood fired grill. The pizza oven can only be used when Jose comes in advance to get a fire going inside to create the needed coals. The pool is heated by the sun and was only filled with fresh water as we arrived on May 1st, so never did get warm enough for the adults to swim. There are more play toys that one could ever use. The wide variety of fruit trees on the property mean that at every season there will be something to take directly from the tree to eat ... and we were encouraged to do so. There is a washing machine that does small loads. All items must go on the washline to dry - as we were on holiday this was not a problem. We rented cars which enabled us to easily get into Tavira, to the beaches and other interesting sites and communities in the region. It is unlikely one would want to be here without a car. Our family of 8 adults and 3 children, all under 8-years of age, enjoyed our stay. We can recommend Cabanas Beach House as long as one considers all of the above.

Situated in a quiet village some distance from the sea, but walkable, this is an idyllic place for an extended family holiday. Plenty of space and just about every leisure activity you could want. Well stocked and full of odd but fascinating artifacts. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Everyone in our party (8 adults and two young children) enjoyed the stay very much.

A wonderful villa in a wonderful location: close to some excellent restaurants and beaches yet offering seclusion within the extensive grounds. The house had all the amenities you could want, not just a pool and hot tub, but lots of activities including badminton, volleyball, archery, pool table, a gym and even a wood fired Pizza oven!. Jose and Ana were perfect hosts: always available if we needed anything and kindly gave us some great recommendations for restaurants, bars and things to do. We will not forget the caipirinha making lesson and the wonderful lobster dinner they cooked for us!

This was our second visit and we didn't think it could improve...but it did. A beautiful house in beautiful surroundings, all in immaculate condition. We love how it is situated in the countryside yet only 10 minutes walk to all amenities, including the fabulous beach at Cabanas. Our group ranged in age from 4 to 84, which can be a tall order to try to please everybody, but everybody was happy! The children loved the pool, while Great Granny loved to sit out under the fruit trees in the shade. The villa had everything we could possibly need, and Ana and Jose are the nicest possible hosts....nothing is ever too much trouble. The hot tub on the balcony was also a particular favourite. Highly, highly recommended!

Una villa más que perfecta para grupos grandes. El jardín es espectacular con multitud de opciones para divertirse (voley, badminton, fúlbol, tiro con arco). Además, el porche y la cocina son geniales, al igual que la sala de juegos con mesa de billar y de poker. Nosotros pasamos una semana estupenda, para repetir sin duda.

We have NEVER gone to the same place twice on holiday, never mind to the same house, but that's how good Cabanas Beach House is! There are 13 of us - 3 couples, 5 teens, and a 9 and 6 year old, and I can honestly say that the house was perfect. With volleyball, table tennis, badminton, pool table, darts, bikes, swimming pool, hot tub, gym and a massive garden it is like having your own resort without having to share it with anyone. There is so much space, and so many options for outdoor seating, that you can find a quiet and peaceful spot without any bother. The outdoor dining area, with huge round table, is just the hub of the house and all 13 of us enjoyed many happy family meals round it. With an outdoor oven, pizza oven and various BBQs, cooking and eating is a complete pleasure . The fresh fruit from the garden each day is lovely and the fresh oysters delivered by Jose were a lovely bonus. It's a 15 minute stroll down into Cabanas, which is just a lovely Portuguese seaside town. If you are looking for massive bars and all-you-can-eat English breakfasts, you will be disappointed. However you will find a vibrant and lovely wee place with a great selection of bars and restaurants along the seafront (and many off the beaten track too). Jose and Ana are just the loveliest people - nothing is too much trouble for them and they are generous and kind hosts. We won't be back next year, as we have lots more of the world to explore, but I definitely hope to visit again at some point!

Não posso deixar de partilhar o paraíso que descobri aqui tão perto!! Cabanas é uma terrinha linda e maravilhosa, as praias espetaculares e esta casa é o recanto ideal. Com as condições que oferece uma pessoa nem quer sair de casa, um pequeno resort privado com tudo incluido e nem precisamos de pulseirinha ;) Foi uma experiência única que quero muito repetir. Vou voltar com certeza!
