Just Fabulous
Goodness I've just noticed my review did not go through for our stay at the Treehouse back in Dec 2022 :( well what can I say apart from absolutely the best accommodation we have had the pleasure of staying in. It's so unique and located in a perfect spot just meters away from the unspoilt beach of Laborie. Tony & Jan are the perfect hosts in that if you need them they are always on hand, they made us feel so welcome it felt like we were part of their home. The Treehouse is equipped with all that you need for a self catering holiday if you are inclined to cook and eat in. Tony kindly took us to the local supermarket to buy groceries when we needed so we were all set to go. As I was there celebrating a milestone birthday they organised a lovely evening whereby a chef came in and cooked a tasty meal for us and a few of the other guests who were staying, which I absolutely enjoyed very much, it was an evening of getting to know your fellow guests and the conversation was flowing along with some celebratory drinks. The Treehouse is divided into two parts that is the bedroom/separate bathroom at one end and the living space/kitchen at the other which includes cooking facilities, fridge, dining table, settee & chairs, coffee table and the all important swing bed but the best feature was your very own plunge pool with sun beds. We loved just wandering along the beach or into the local streets where there are a few restaurants and bars including the famous Mama Tilly's. We bought really tasty local homemade food from some lovely ladies that run a street food stall, very much recommend. For us the Treehouse and Laborie was the best part of our St Lucia stay. I thoroughly would just say if you want the best experience then 100% book the Treehouse.....it's absolutely fabulous. Forget your fancy hotels in the North, Laborie is just so relaxing and has some stunning sunsets. It's where you get to indulge in real St Lucian life and stay in a real Treehouse.

The best place we've ever stayed
I could write a book about how wonderful this property is. Without a doubt, the most unique accommodation we’ve ever stayed in, and an undoubted highlight of our entire trip to St Lucia. Make no mistake, this is a property and a village for people who want to get out and about and experience St Lucia local-style, and that’s what makes it so amazing. Laborie is a beautiful village in a beautiful part of the country. The beach is stunning, with the nearby beach park absolutely full of villagers at the end of the day or at weekends. Sunsets here are amazing, and the beach is just a few steps away from the property so perfect for heading to in order to watch the sun disappear. Tony and Jan are fantastic hosts and their house is just next to the treehouse. Tony sorted us out with a trip to the Soufriere area courtesy of his driver neighbour, and a trip on a local catamaran to see the Pitons from the sea and snorkel. The village centre is just a few minutes’ walk along the beach or road where we jumped on the boat. We even got to sail back to Laborie with the boat to ourselves after the tourists from a hotel up the road disembarked in Soufriere to continue by land. Tony also introduced us to Mama Tilly and her restaurant where she cooked up fresh to order seafood and other local dishes. And he organised for a local fisherman to catch and cook a lobster dinner for us in the outdoor kitchen below the treehouse. All this before I get to the property itself. What a find. A genuine treehouse, up a staircase and amongst the banana and palm trees. It’s all made from locally sourced materials, so much so that you’ll want to touch the materials the whole time – it looks and feels like it completely belongs in the trees. The bedroom and bathroom are a ‘proper’ room and thus have air con but the living area is open air and delightful. The kitchen area is also outside, all fully equipped, and there’s a table and chairs, sofa, hammock and amazing swing bed. Plenty of places to relax and gaze out at the sea – or at the amazing birdlife which comes to visit. Whether it’s the hummingbirds or the banaquit who shared the living room with us, we spent many happy hours watching them. And the pool! A small but perfectly formed plunge pool, with sun loungers on an island and views of the sea – just ideal. We spent A LOT of time there. I can’t say enough good things about this property, the village and how much staying in it added to our holiday. It’s rustic but spotless, quiet but with so much to see and private but with the full extent of the south of St Lucia at your fingertips ready to explore. An absolute gem.

Slice of Heaven!
We just came home from a wonderful week's vacation. We wanted something different for our 30th anniversary and this was just perfect and unique. We wanted to relax, stay away from all the tourist traps and immerse ourselves in the culture and cuisine and this was one of our best vacations. The hosts, Tony and Jan, are very welcoming and bend over backwards to ensure that you have a fantastic vacation. We enjoyed all of the restaurants close by and even helped on a dog rescue with Jan. You do get used to the noises at night and I was sleeping better than I have in a long time. The people are friendly and as anywhere you go, at night be aware of your surroundings. The people are welcoming and make sure you visit Mama Tilly's, Zac's, Mama Leone's and have some creole bread. We will definitely be back and miss Tony and Jan already...and the dogs!🐕

Beautiful Romantic getaway
We had an amazing experience in Tony's tree house. There is everything you need like kitchen appliances , a.c. , big beautiful bathroom, huuuuge bed , huge jacuzzi and very cool and spacious outside area with chairs and rocking big bed, the house is surrounded by lush beautiful greenery and you can partly see the beach and the sea. Tony and his wife are friendly, fun and genuine people who can tell you a lot about the island and the people living here . The tree house is very beautiful both from the outside and the inside , a lot of hand crafted wood work, paintings and art work, I loved the rustic feel of it without compromising on the comforts of the modern life. The beautiful beach with palm trees is only one minute walking from the tree house and the neighbors are friendly and quite. This is the place to relax and "lime" as saint lucians say.

The closest you can get to Paradise!
Tony and Jan quite literally came to our rescue when we arrived at Laborie, intending to stay at their neighbours house that we had booked through Vrbo, only to find that the host wasn't in the country! Looking back however, we would not have stayed anywhere else and we would have booked from the get go had we known about it! The Bay Treehouse is a truly one of a kind experience. You feel like you are in the middle of the rainforest, surrounded by all kinds of beautiful birds and wildlife. The beach, which is literally a coconuts throw away, is absolutely stunning, with turquoise water and golden sand and pretty much always empty in the weekday, the perfect way to start the day is with a swim in the calm waters or relax in the evening and see the glorious sunset. The property itself is a real treat. Everything is so beautifully designed with all you need to feel right at home. The whole living area is open to the elements but you still feel cosy and contained as though you are sat in your own front room, but instead you are watching a tropical rainstorm or hummingbirds play in the sunset from the sofa whilst indulging in an afternoon tipple. One of the greatest things about the treehouse is the amazing plunge pool, we spent our whole weekends and afternoons enjoying the 360 sunshine, with the option of shade, on a floating island amidst the swaying palm trees listening to the sound of waves just below. It is hard to do it justice with words. We found ourselves staying in St.Lucia as the UK went into lockdown whilst we were on holiday. We were of course a little apprehensive about how it would be on the island with the global pandemic, outside of a hotel, but the treehouse was kitted out with all sorts of safety measures. Hand sanitiser was in every room, along with closed bags to put our laundry in and instructions on how to remain safe. Tony and Jane would constantly let us know what was going on in the country with regards to the new rules and regulations and how it might effect us. The locals in the village were welcoming and kind, and we made sure to adhere to all the rules that were put in place in order to keep ourselves and the community safe. Sadly due to the pandemic, we weren't able to explore the bars and restaurants but we still managed to indulge in the cuisine from Mama Tillys, which Tony kindly picked up for us for Friday night treat and it certainly did not disappoint! As we were working remotely Wifi was naturally incredibly important and we had no complaints whatsoever. The connection never dropped and multiple devices were able to connect effectively without it having an effect on the connectivity. Tony was also incredibly helpful in receiving a package from the UK that got stuck in customs and would give us lifts to the supermarkets or pick things up for us that we needed. There really wasn't any question/favour too big or small that Tony and Jan wouldn't help with, we could always reach them via WhatsApp but at the same time they left us to it and would let us have our space. They really were the ultimate hosts. Whether your looking for and authentic St.Lucian island experience, sprinkled with luxurious creature comforts in a dream location or just looking for a place to get away from all the noise in the world, The Bay Treehouse is a once in a lifetime property and we can guarantee you will never want to leave. Thank you Tony and Jan for the most wonderful stay, there is absolutely no doubt in our minds that we would be back in a heartbeat. If you are hesitating about booking...dont! We promise you, you will not regret it. The Bay Treehouse is the closest to paradise you can get.

Peace above Earth and goodwill
We were lucky enough to spend three weeks in Bay Treehouse over Christmas and New Year. Tony and Jan are wonderful hosts who know St Lucia back to front. They are not intrusive so you can relax without interruption, but they are always available if you need anything. They laid on a great Christmas dinner and twice took us to a local restaurant with their friends. There is also a shaded eating area where Linkon, a lovely Laborian fisherman, creates great food. Tony's car 'rent-by-the-day' arrangement is a really good idea as you don't need to rent for your whole holiday, but only use the car when you need it. The Treehouse is a wonderful space. You are living in the trees and are entertained by humming birds, doves and various other small birds. It's a magical place to relax in the sun or shade, or to take a dip in the (newly-enlarged) plunge pool to cool down. It's virtually on the beach, which itself is a great place to swim and snorkel (turtles, if you're lucky, and plenty of colourful fish are on the nearby reefs.) The beach can get a bit boisterous (in a good way!) at weekends and holidays. Laborie village is beautifully small and intimate. The people are invariably friendly and there is no problem from hustlers and hasslers. Other tourists are a rare sight! It's also rather amazing that children (and adults) recognise you as tourists but say 'Good morning' or "Good afternoon', as the case may be! There are plenty of bars and restaurants, Mama Tilly's restaurant being the most renowned and is an essential visit. And the fishermen (for they are all men) really do blow a conch to announce their catches are ready for sale. The Catholic church should also not be missed. Beyond Laborie there is lots to see and do. Because we loved the Treehouse so much we didn't do too much, but on the road to Soufriere there is a villa on the left hand side that sells batik (printing on silk) by the well-known artist Danial Jean-Baptiste (now based in Canada but St Lucian) - it is well worth a visit.

Rustic luxury
Not sure if those two words go together, but this is a rustic trip in the sense you're in a tree house....in a quiet and relatively undeveloped corner of the island (way more locals than tourists: great), but also you've got everything you need: wifi, a/c, fridge, cooker, plunge pool, etc. This is a nice place, feels "high end", esp. for the price point. It's all pretty new, and works well - e.g. good water pressure in the shower. You're about 20 yards from a nice beach, with access to loungers if you want them. There are no fancy restaurants around, but plenty of fun places to go eat some chicken/fish and drink some rum. Everyone was v. friendly and didn't bat an eyelid at our presence other than to say hello (whilst not selling anything, which was hugely refreshing). Not the best town if you're a vegetarian, but the staff will try and make something work for you. Close to the airport, we stayed here on the final leg of our trip. It's pretty noisy in the mornings, not from planes, but from loads of dogs and cockerels waking up, but I think that's just village life. The owners have a lot of dogs they've rescued - a really positive thing to do in a country that doesn't really value dogs. They were all very friendly. Recommended.

The "real Caribbean" Perfect blend of rustic living and comfort
Wherever we go on holiday we like to stay somewhere authentic to the location so we get a feel for the real way of life of the place rather than simply a "tourist experience". The Tree House in Laborie was most certainly that - and was a perfect blend of rustic living and comfort. When we read the reviews and looked through the photos we were prepared for something pretty special but this surpassed our expectations. The swinging bed is wonderful - a lovely place to lie and watch the hummingbirds and bananaquits as they visit the feeders in the window and fly in and out of our room. We found Laborie to be a really friendly place and enjoyed some extremely good, (and amazingly cheap) meals at two of the local restaurants - Mamma Tilly and Mamma Rose. We also found Wilson at Salt Rush beach cafe to be great for daytime snacks......and rum punch!!! We would watch the local fisherman on the beach making/mending their nets, then see them go out in their boats. Later they would return with their catch - often taking it straight to the village market adjacent to the beach. The conch shell would be blown to announce to the villagers that fresh fish was in, and we would be served "catch of the day" that evening in one of the little restaurants. A simple way of life but a satifying one. And we were one of the first ones to experience Tony's new infinity pool which was his 2019 project and is now part of the Treehouse. Unfortunately it was not fully completed whilst we were there, but we spent many happy hours on the sundeck Island in the centre of the pool - watching the birds, star gazing and we even saw fireflies. We got to swim in the pool on our final day and just needed to imagine the pump working but Tony and Jan kindly let us use the wonderful pool at Drfitwood as no one was staying there. Future guests are going to be blown away by that pool Thank you Jan and Tony for your kindness and a wonderful two weeks.

Couldn’t be more idyllic
My favourite thing apart from the perfect location, lush vegetation, superb hosts, cacophony of Caribbean village sounds, hummingbirds and other lovely locals of 2, 4 (and in one case 3) legs is the stunning attention to interior design detail and sustainably sourced materials including a beautiful mango wood dining table. Will hopefully frequently be back to this perfect escape!
