This guest house was a highlight to our road trip across the Yucatan! A short drive from the Belize border, we booked the same day not knowing how long the border crossing was going to take. Rose was a gracious host and gave great suggestions for drinks and dinner in the village. The waterfront cabana was a wonderful spot for sunset cocktails and sunrise coffee. The house had everything we needed and was so very comfortable. Lake Bacalar is as pretty as the photos and worth visiting. The whole experience was simply superlative!

Great house and perfect location right on the lake! Sun all day on the terrace and watersports available! Just outside the town, but close enough to walk. Rose can help you arrange wakeboarding or jetski tours, highly recommended!

The house is placed in front of a "Cenote", a magic place with an incredible rooftop and own dock. Nice accommodations and warm furnishing surrounded by a peaceful lagoon. Highly recommended option to spend some days a Bacalar. Considering that the Village is tinny and historic fashioned, the place offers international standards for guests. The host was very attentive making feel like home.

Rose was there to meet us when we arrived. She made sure we had everything we needed and that we were well situated. The photos were so beautiful I feared the house would not be as lovely as pictured, but it was! I can't think of a more perfect place to welcome the new year. The sailing club next door offered tours of the lagoon and had a great cafe and bar. Sailboats are quiet and the cafe closed early. They were great neighbors. I hope to return again next year.

My new happy place! Cozy 1 bedroom house with a big yard, amazing views of the lagoon from all around the property. Private dock, close to town, nothing more to ask for. The amazing Rose took care of us and anything we needed. Hardest part was leaving. Coming back soon! ✌🏽

Bacalar is a must in Mexico! Such a beautiful place. And this little House is the perfect spot to explore everything. Such a great spot, amazing views and great host! They made some renovations recently. Thank you Rosa!!

We really liked a lot to stay in Rose's house. It was very confortable and good conditions. The view is awesome to the cenote esmeralda and we can see all the lake until beach. That place is so peaceful and we got to enjoy and renew our soul. We made a kayak experience, we went to the beautiful beach. Rose was very nice with us, she showed us many things.

We had a nice stay, the location is great, not in the town center, but in the residence area 10 min from the town center, there's food delivery and restaurants nearby. We had an amazing boat tour right from the dock. The area is spacious and comfortable, there are some areas to improve but good in general.

First of all, we want to be very objective describing about what you are going to get, and what not, there are a lot of pros, but also a lot of cons to consider before renting or returning to this house. Pros: - The location is excellent, just 8 minutes from the center of bacalar, on the coast, which makes it a very safe and uncomplicated place. Very easy to get to. - The garden is huge and has a terrace facing the lagoon that lets you enjoy the magnificence of the lagoon, excellent for sitting to meditate, have a drink, a coffee or just take photos. - It has a "private" dock with access to the lagoon to get into the water and enjoy the sound and colors of the water. - The owner is pet friendly! What makes it much easier to feel at home and bring your dog, besides that there lives a very friendly dog ​​that really makes your stay very pleasant, as it does not bother anyone, it alerts you when someone calls or approaches the house or simply makes you company. - Javier, the boy in charge of receiving us, giving us access and delivering keys is always available and very attentive. CONS: - The house needs general maintenance URGENTLY, the furniture in the living room are dirty, there is a lot of humidity inside it, the main bed is small and it is the second time that the sheets and towels are dirty. - There are not two bathrooms as advertised, and if it is one that is outside the house is completely dirty and unusable. Also the main bathroom was again dirty and without basic services like paper, so if that does not matter to you, you have to bring your own toilet paper. - If you plan to cook, you also have to bring the necessary, kitchen utensils are limited. - Make sure there is gas for the stove and the water heater! It is very unfortunate that we had to be without gas to cook!. - Down at the exit of the dock there is NO PRIVACY, EVERYONE that is staying in the club next door crosses to the dock of the house (workers and clients), you can not have privacy since, in addition to this the owner allows the boats to be tied to the dock, which means that those who drive/rent them are constantly coming and going along , even with beer in their hands and with an attitude of arrogance knowing that we were trying to rest there, which seems to me a lack of respect for our tranquility and privacy, We never knew what to do since we do not know the people who cross the border of the house. Honestly there is a lot to improve, because it is not the first time we stayed here, but although to us the deficiencies of an old house we do not care much, but it was a real headache the lack of privacy that exists due to The people at the club next door, which honestly does not make your stay quiet, which will make us think twice about wanting to return since the first time was actually a peaceful place to relax and forget about everything. I really hope they fix this.
