Quiet, comfortable and luxurious - Folly Gill
Excellent cottage to use as a base for visits to the North York Moors National Park, Scarborough, Whitby and the Cleveland Way. Great for a relaxing stay away from the hustle and bustle of a town but still close to amenities (Scarborough 15 minutes away by car). Lorna is a delightful host and gave us some useful tips for restaurants to visit in the area. All proved good.
During our stay the swallows and house martins were wheeling overhead and we understand there are little owls close at hand. Possible to walk from the cottage on a number of walks but the circular walk to Whisper Dales takes about 1.5 hours and is recommended.

Beautiful property in peaceful surroundings
Absolutely beautifully furnished barn conversion set in quiet countryside, just a short drive from Scarborough and the attractions on offer there. The hosts were friendly and helpful, offering advice on places to go and things to do.

It would be hard to find better
Fantastic conversion and no expense spared both on the building and it's furnishings. Great countryside location and a quick 10 to 15 minute drive to Scarborough on quiet country roads. Lorna , the owner is very friendly and helpful, even sending an email with eating out recommendations. The location is a small hamlet and is very quiet, you could count the number of cars passing one one hand , even at what are normal rush hour times. Very well equipped kitchen, massive rooms and a bed to die for regards it's comfort and quality.I suspect we may well be booking again.

Second stay, just as good.
Great out of the way quiet space. Still the no expense spared milking parlour barn conversion, still just as peaceful, rush hour traffic around 12 vehicles going past, silent overnight, with the cockrel alarm call 6.30 am ish. Lorna, the owner has adapted her routine to take into the coronavirus but we still had a socially distanced welcome. 7 or 8 minutes to Scarborough North beach. We had a lovely 5 night break, suspect we'll be back next year.

Another wonderful stay
Another visit to this lovely cottage in the countryside just outside Scarborough. The bed is the biggest I've ever seen or slept in, an Emperor bed !. Silpho is so quiet,with only a few cars on the road each day. Lorna and Chris are wonderful host's and I doubt this will be our last visit

Folly gill , hidden gem
We had a wonderful stay at folly gill. It was our 3rd visit and we cannot find faultt with this hidden gem. Converted to a very high speck, furnished beautifully and immaculately presented. Cosy and peaceful, it's a delight. Lorna greats you like one of the family, nothing could be too much trouble it seems. Although we didn't have any problems to have to bother her. This place is a credit to her and Chris. If 10 stars were available I would give a 10. Will certainly return ASAP.
