Fantastic Villa
Just returned from a wonderful holiday in Malaga with my family and our three year old daughter. Words can’t explain how lovely this villa is - really well maintained - the owners have thought of everything for toddlers - stair gates, child locks, play area and a huge variety of toys available. Our little one had hours of fun playing. For the adults, there’s lots of areas to relax, unwind and take in the fantastic views. The villa is about 25 mins drive up the mountains from Trapiche but the beautiful village of Comares, where a decent supermarket for everyday essentials and a couple of restaurants can be found is only 2 minutes drive. John the greeter was very helpful and Samatha the owner was great to deal with. This was our first visit but certainly won’t be our last!

Maintenance and cleanliness are top of our priorities, as well as other priorities of course and it is extremely important to us that all our guests have the same standards when choosing our villa for their holiday, so everything is perfect ready for arrival.
We are really pleased that our family visitors are finding their stay a relaxing one due to the fact that you have a secure play area with a selection of toys for the younger ones, after all, everyone deserves time to relax as a whole family while on vacation.
We are very lucky to have restaurants nearby with the nearest being just 700 meters from the villa. This season in 2020 Table mountain restaurante reopened its doors with new owners and now includes a small shop with everyday basics, Bread, milk, eggs, tea, coffee, and some branded items for sale, so not only can you enjoy a meal and a refreshing drink but also do a quick shop before returning to your villa.
We look forward to inviting you and your family back to stay anytime.

Fabulous villa,everything you need,with an excellent private pool.Not really easy walking distance to amenities ,but lovely comares is only 5mins drive with a great little shop for everyday needs.Also recommend visiting old Malaga a really beautiful old town.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay at Villa Amarilla. We do recommend car hire for anyone wishing to explore further to have family/friends days out here in beautiful Andalusia.
Many of our guests enjoy a hike or a morning run around the mountainous area of Comares.
For anyone wanting a pleasant gentle stroll.. Then just 700 meters from the villa is Bar/Restaurant El Molino in the small hamlet of Ventorros which serves typical Spanish cuisine.
You are correct that Malaga is a great day out with plenty of museums to visit with lovely beaches and restaurants!

Beautiful villa in stunning location!
Villa Amarilla is a beautiful place to spend time relaxing around the lovely swimming pool. The villa offers everything you need for a self catering holiday. Equipped to a very high standard. The local shop in Comares (a couple of minutes by car) is like an aladdins cave where you can find just about everything you need without having to travel too far. There are larger supermarkets about 35 mins drive away if you prefer to eat 'English' whilst in Spain! 2 very nice resturants in Comares where we ate a few times. We were a party of 7 - ages ranging from 7 - 74 years and everyone had a wonderful time. We booked the pool table and table tennis which were both well used by all of us - tournaments being played on a daily basis! A car is necessary for getting out and about as the villa is set in a very rural location - exactly what we were looking for!

Thank you to John the greeter, he was very helpful.
The owner Samantha is also very helpful and replies quickly to any queries.
Everything was perfect, pool spotlessly clean including the surrounding areas plus loads of shade.
Kitchen was ok everything you needed big fridge, big cooker, big bin.
Large barbecue, you need lighters, charcoal or wood. Large outdoor fridge in that area.
All the bedrooms were fine and airy.
Three bathrooms, all with showers, and wc by the pool.
To be quite honest we could not fault the place.
The drive from the airport was about an hour.
We took the Velez Malaga route and stopped off at Lidl just off the motorway before the turn up the mountain to Comares.
There is also another Lidl after the turn.
Lidl shop is larger than England and you can purchase everything you need wine 1 euro upwards a litre beer 46 cents a litre.
The villa is not far past the sharp turning to Comares so slow down after a mile or you will have to go down to the village and turn round.
The fun starts here, tricky little track for about 100 yards but very easily managed if you drive slow.
The view is stunning and the traffic on the road above the villa is very light.
We were three adults and three noisy children aged 13, 11, 8 and there was enough to do with pool, pool table and ping pong.
The drive down to the water park was twenty minutes and the beach 30 minutes.
You can walk to the little village down the hill 10 minutes where there is a bar/restaurant.
Pint of Cruzcampo on draught 3 euros, food very reasonable, very popular Sunday lunch.
Comares is a short drive with a terrific bakery and a nice bar in the square with food, tapas etc.

Great Villa!
Villa Amarilla is just lovely. It is quite well equipped and very spacious. The pool is larger than average and this, along with the fantastic views, draws us back time after time. Samantha the Villa Owner is very helpful and John the Villa Manager in Spain is always on hand if you need anything. I would definitely recommend Villa Amarilla as a great holiday destination!

Perfect if you like cleaning!!
The villa itself is lovely and the views are amazing, however there a few things that aren’t mentioned on this website. It’s advertised as having satellite tv, it does but it’s in Spanish and It only has air conditioning in the master bedroom and the living room. When you have 2 babies under 6 months, the temperature of the room is very important, so this was a bit of a problem for us.
Children’s toys were left for my daughter to play with which was nice and we also hired some baby toys. The baby stair gates where put on the wrong way round (top stair gate goes at the bottom and visa Versa) so my daughter fell down the stairs, the stair gate at the top had a big bar you had to step over and she tripped over it and was quite hurt (I have mentioned this to the owner to which she did not apologise!) luckily my dad had a multi tool and he removed the stair gate.
You are expected to clean the villa before you leave, ready for the next guests. They also ask you to sign a contract when you get there stating that if you don’t clean before you leave, the owner (Samantha) can take the money from your damage deposit to pay for it (I have reported this to holiday Lettings Ltd) So although we left the villa in a tidy condition and happily stripped the beds before we left (even though this was at 5am!) Samantha has informed me that because I did not clean the floors before I left, I would have to pay €35 for a cleaner to do it! If this had been explained to be before I booked, I definitely would not have! I have stayed in some beautiful villas in Marbella and I have certainly not been expected to clean on the last day of my luxury holiday! I would not book here again for that reason.

We try to provide as much information for our guests as possible before and during their stay, with greeter available by WhatsApp, text or call when guests stay, so if there are any problems or issues we are then able to help, however there was no mention of any problems during your stay.
We unfortunately are only able to tick some boxes on the advertisement on the facility's section e.g satellite TV and air-conditioning etc and then where possible it is mentioned in the advertisement, so we do say you are more than welcome to email anytime with any questions or specific needs and I am happy to answer them.
Stair gates are optional and guests are told by greeter that they can be removed if they want them removed, we have had no request for removal to-date as guests would much prefer them installed for safety the top at night and bottom during the day.
There was no mention during your stay that you did not want the stair gates or that your very young daughter had had a fall so we would not have known, we would have been more than happy to help. They had been installed ready on your fathers arrival because he was at the villa first as you had a very late flight and it would be dark so thought best to have them ready.
We do ask for the villa to be left in a suitable clean and tidy state on departure so we can then go in and do the changeover to bring back up to standard for our next guests. I have high standards at the villa and pride myself on this, which my reviews reflect as do my many repeat bookings.
It would not be professional of me to start leaving a review of how you left the villa, I will leave it to others reading the review to make their own minds up whether it was satisfactory or not, that is all I will say, but you were not charged at the end of the day after your departure.
So to be fair and clear to others thinking of booking for future reference the villa is self-catering so all cleaning products are provided and delivered free for you to use during your stay. We ask for the bathrooms wiped over, kitchen oven, hob, micro and surfaces wiped over, dishwasher empty, BBQ swept of coals or wood and rubbish removed, ground floor only to be swept and mopped before departure. Also just to help and if possible to strip beds and pile with towels on floor, however you don't have to strip beds as we understand if you have an early flight it might not be possible, we don't expect spotless but we do expect the above at least which again to-date our guests seem to respect and have no problems with.
I understand that you did not like the fact you had to leave clean and tidy, however other guests do out of respect for the fact of how well maintained the property is and what it has to offer on their arrival, it is extremely important to me that these standards for all visiting guests are kept.

Fantastic holiday
Fabulous villa with stunning mountain views, only 45 minutes from Malaga airport. This was a family holiday with our two year old granddaughter and the villa had a big swimming pool which was gated off and many toys for her to play with, her favourite was the play kitchen. The bar and bbq area was great too which had a large fridge and was great for preparing the food as there was so much work service and where we spent many nights playing poker. The living room was very comfy and plenty of space. The kitchen had everything we needed including children’s plates and bibs. We had the master bedroom which was also big with an ensuite and a lovely terrace which had beautiful views.
We enjoyed a meal at mirador in comares and on our last night we all enjoyed a meal at la plaza in comares. Highly recommended, so safe for the little ones and a great villa for a family holiday. You definitely need car hire due to its location.

fantastic family holiday
We have just returned from a week away with the family to Villa Amarilla and wish that we had booked for another week!
We arrived a little early to the village of Los Ventorros where we had something to eat and drink and called John to see if there was any chance as to if we could get in a little earlier to which he kindly said yes and got it ready for 2pm which was great. We arrived to the villa in our three rental cars which easily fitted onto the driveway in fact you could easily fit four cars on.
John greeted us there and showed us round where we were all wowed by the villa. John told us to just WhatsApp him if we needed anything which was helpful.
Our group was made up of 6 adults and 2 two year olds, and they were entertained all week by the toy motorcycles, playhouse and all the other toys that were there. There was also a play kitchen inside which they loved too- you won’t need to take any toys with you!
The villa layout is great. There are plenty of seating areas outside, a great swimming pool, a bbq area and a fantastic bar. The only problem is that the outdoor fridge wasn’t working and would have been a problem for us if we didn’t have our own portable fridge as you would have to go inside to get a cold drink to then return to the bar which would be annoying.
The bedrooms are all a decent size and having three bathrooms with showers made it easy for everyone to get ready.
The area is beautiful and the views around the villa will have you wowing the entire time.
The village of Los Ventorros is just a 10 minute easy stroll down hill and has a great bar called El Molino which serves fantastic tapas. The town of Comares is a 20 minute walk uphill where there is a shop that has pretty much everything, four bar/ restaurants, a pharmacy and the views up there are stunning. We went to bar camping in Comares twice and the food was great with large portions.
I would highly recommend renting a car so you can get around. We went to Malaga one day which was an hours drive and Nerja another day which was just under an hour.
The owner Samantha was very helpful and answered lots of questions promptly and in detail which was appreciated as we had a few worries / questions regarding the kids.
We would have no hesitation in returning to the villa and will recommend to others.
All in all we had one of the best family holidays to date!

We have just had a wonderful holiday at Villa Amarilla. We were three couples and this villa was perfect for us with the wonderful pool and additional facilities. The mountain views were spectacular. The owners have thought of everything you might need for your stay. I would highly recommend this villa
