If you want to get away from it all to unwind and reconnect with your significant other I highly recommend the Calypso Suite. The owners are a kind couple who will surely welcome you and make you feel comfortable like you have known them forever. They take good care of you during your stay and even occasionally come by to empty your trash, make your bed, and tidy up so you can truly have a break! The location it tucked away from the main drag but VERY close walking distance to Sand Castle on the Beach (for reference) where you won’t be disappointed with the view. I do think unless you solely want to sit at the beach and eat at Sand Castle you should rent a car since the other places like grocery store or restaurants are not in reasonable walking distance. I’ll definitely come back the Calypso was a dream getaway and the people as a whole here in St.Croix have been so kind and welcoming!

Hospitable hosts, quiet, beautiful and relaxing retreat.
Waking to the rooster's call, the chirping of birds, a distant donkey. Soaking in the sun by the pool, surrounded by lush tropical plantings and an occasional curious lizard. Lying on the daybed in the screened porch for an afternoon nap, or retreating there again after sundown listening to the cascade of music from the many birds and insects as darkness envelopes the grounds with an occasional rustling in the nearby trees, likely one of the entertaining, and harmless, iguanas. Owners Betty and Jaye went over-board to ensure my contentment. The suite was cleaned daily. The bed very comfortable. The grounds immaculate. Everything to allow me to do anything . . . or nothing. The beautiful beaches are a short drive away. No major signs of the last hurricane on the property, although work will continue for a long time on the clean-up and roads on the west end of the island. Such a restful time, with temperatures holding steady in the eighties with a constant tropical breeze. My only problem was deciding what to do every morning, if anything, as the island life swept me away.

Great people, peace and quite
The stay was great. Owners are fantastic people. They have everything you need to make your stay just like home. The area is very quite to make the trip very relaxing weather you are on the island for work or vacation. If the beach is what you are after it is just down the hill in view out of the window. Again can not say enough good things about the owners.

Iguana Haven
Magnificent west side oasis...so relaxing and close to Rainbow beach (1 mile), the Seaside Café (awesome sunsets and friendly people), and Frederiksted sights. Jerry and Betty welcomed us with old-world charm. They provided everything you need to make your stay a home away from home...including basic spices and cooking utensils...often an added expense. I didn't use the pool because I was busy shuttling back and forth to relatives on the east side, but it was clean and there were plenty of chaise lounges to relax. One time I walked past in the middle of the day and 4 large iguanas were sunning themselves...got some great pics! One day I spotted 19 of them viewable from on the property...very cool!

Lovely, attentive hosts, just as described
Located just about a half mile from Frederikstad, this was a very nice, well cared for little apartment. It has a nice screened in porch that we spent a lot of time in. The pool is very nice and very well cared for. The grounds are beautiful. It's about a 2 block walk to a beach and there are many very nice beaches in this area. Betty & Jerry are very accommodating and helpful, even invited us to her birthday party and lent me books. They cleaned a bit daily and changed the sheets every few days which surprised me. There are lots of trees (so you can enjoy iguana counting! (lots of iguanas, and they live in the trees) They would even make sure the outside lights were on if we were out after dark. It's about 20-30 min from Christenstad,

An absolutely wonderful getaway!
The location is wonderful - nestled in a charming neighborhood that is minutes away from whatever you're looking for in an island vacation. It's homey yet tropical, serene yet bursting with life.
As for amenities, you're set. The owners have thought of and provided for everything you could want and need. They are also available to help with any needs or questions you could have. Wonderful people that are gracious enough to share a little piece of heaven with their guests.
Our favorites? The screened in porch with a daybed, the beautifully groomed pool, the well stocked kitchen, the iguanas and chickens, the grill and outdoor dining areas... I could go on and on. I wish we could've stayed longer. 😊

Magical, Tranquil, and Relaxing
Our stay was everything we expected and more! The owner (Betty) was gracious and attended to our every need, day or night. Everything we needed was in the villa including wifi, and air conditioning. The beach was a short walk although since we were carrying so much we opted to drive. The property was beautiful and well kept. It is located in a very private and safe area and the sounds of nature will surround you. There is a nice restaurant and bar less than 2 minutes away and the people were very friendly. All the amenities you need are just a short distance away. If you are looking for a place that is quiet and tucked away but close to it all and with beautiful surrounding this property has it!!! Thank you Betty and Jerry for a wonderful stay and a great experience.

Nice, quiet, and lush location
Betty and Jerry were responsive to our every need. Originally signed up for Calypso but Betty upgraded us to more spacious Caribe at no cost. Very clean and well appointed cottage. Not far from beautiful beach and great restaurant.
