We stayed with my aunt and uncle who have a time share at the Mayan Palace. Never been to Mexico before and couldn’t have asked for a better stay! Everyone was super welcoming at the resort including one of the activity staff, Ricardo (with 10 R’s 😂). We got to see some amazing scenery and are already planning our next trip back! We all highly recommend staying at the Mayan Palace!

We just stayed and it was a horrible experience....you have to wait for almost an hour just to check in and have someone try to sell you a timeshare right as you arrive, then you have to wait for a shuttle for over 20 minutes just to get anywhere or walk for over half hour...then we found bugs all over our dining table and had some go spray (not even offering to move rooms) then not open windows or spray room until directed..then everyone expects a tip for EVERYTHING and if you don’t you get told you have to give them a tip as our exiting bellman efrain did...and yet still take forever to do anything for you and not care what time your flight is...then you can’t leave until they make sure your room is paid but fail to communicate between hotel and parking so checkout is another hour....make sure you have a 3 hour cushion to do anything here...nothing is ever quick...the only nice person willing to help us and get things done for us was Joel Martinez...he made the trip a bit more bearable

My daughter and I are staying here for four days and last night we had dinner at “Havana Moon” by the beach. We had such excellent service by the waiter, David Maya, we wanted to make sure we said something. He was friendly, enthusiastic, energetic, and efficient in meeting our every need. It was a pleasure to have him serve us! Overall, the suite was great, the staff everywhere were friendly and helpful, and one can get anywhere by walking the wooden pathways in the beautiful jungle scenery, or by taking the golf cart shuttle everywhere.

Estoy aquí la verdad estoy muy decepcionado del lugar, me esperaba algo mucho mejor, apesar de que el lugar tiene muchas albercas son congeladas y están vacías ya que nadie se puede meter con esta temperatura, tengo una bebe de 2 años que no la puedo meter de lo fría que está y veníamos especial a que ella pudiera divertirse, el hotel dice que no pueden hacer nada ya quien las albercas no tienen calefacción, mal por ellos, por qué cualquier hotel de esta categoría lo tiene, además el trato del gerente muy despota, en la alberca y en la playa no hay sombrillas. La verdad es que estoy muy molesto, por que si estoy en hotel de esta categoría espero que las albercas estén a una buena temperatura y hayan sombrillas para proteger del sol, deberían de gastar en pomerlos si tienen un hotel. Ellos solo quieren que gasten los huéspedes, con sus precios excesivos en restaurantes etc.. pero también el hotel debería de hacer otros gastos Pésimo servicio no regreso.

Do what I should have done- RUN, RUN, RUN....don't walk, RUN!!!!. Purchased in 8/2016 under very high pressure sales. Unfortunately I succumbed to the pressure much to my financial and mental dismay - now I know what it feels like to be interrogated. Didn't advise me I had 3 days to cancel either. Paid $800 for vacation up front in 2016 addition to the $24,000 paid to be able to pay $800/week for 8/2017. This doesn't include all the "incidentals" along the way which added another $4-5,000. I also upgraded for another $126 the afternoon BEFORE the US advisory came out on Wednesday and then escalated again on Thursday. We are scheduled to leave on Sunday. So far in 2.5 hours I've spoken to Pablo, Supervisor; Stephanie, Sales; Ariana, "Senior" Member who all told me US is always putting out advisories - there is nothing to worry about. They live there and it's all okay. GEORGE (ext. 66635) told me several times "I PROMISE EVERYTHIG WILL BE OKAY. THERE IS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT" which I told him was a very big undertaking for someone other than God. According to GEORGE also said "NO ONE ELSE" has expressed concerns but myself which is contrary to the several others I have spoken to in the 2.5 hours I've been on the phone. I explained maybe because it's just myself and my daughter and I'm more concerned about a kidnapping than a shooting. I told him I would cancel all my other Cancun plans which included rental car, scuba diving, etc and since we are confined to the resort to have complimentary dinner for 2 during the 7 nights we're there to provide a safety and security for these 2 customers since we are the ONLY ONES CONCERNED according to George (ext. 66635).. I guess it would be too costly for 2 people to have complimentary dinners x 7 nights - if it really was a 5 star resort as they claim, this would seem to be something very little effort and cost to provide that for 2 customers.

It is certainly beautiful! Biggest pool ever. Everything is a distance to get to. We had trouble getting around (bad knees). Our 45 minute owners meeting was 5 hours. Our room was large with nice furnishings. The kitchen was large but no paper towels or salt and pepper. The food was delicious. The every 15 minute trams were on track except Friday, they were understaffed. Poor management is my thought.

We have been owners at the Grand Mayan since 2004. Among the tremendous views and facility, the people make the difference. They all are very focused on creating a great experience for you and they execute on that goal very well. Beach experience: Angela and the bar/restaurant crew easily strike up a quick conversation (English is perfect) and work incredibly hard with a smile. Walking: Take your fit-bit. You will hit your 8000 steps by noon. The curving boardwalk from your room (fantastic) to the pool, restaurant, and beach area -- through the manicured jungle (yes, that is what it is), is long. Make sure you take everything you need for the pool and beach with you the first time so you don't have to go back to your room. Restaurant: Same comments regarding folks like Margarito (a waiter) at the Blue Fin restaurant (the fish tacos and cerviche are off the hook). Yohann (the manager) operates the restaurant like he is a 4th generation owner. It's one of the many great restaurants on the property where there is a very sincere energy insuring your experience is a happy one. One of the great ways to start your day is walk over to Green Break (on the golf course) and get some Huevos Rancheros (sp?) with the richest eggs you will ever taste. At night the place turns into Tacos Break. Great food and always buzzing. It's worth waiting a little longer to have Elizabeth be your waitress. Only my mom treats me as well. Note: many talk about how service is slow. That may be at times, but not long into your stay, that New York mentality slips into a beach mentality and you don't notice it. In fact, I appreciated the time to relax, and not worry about how fast things get done but rather how the staff takes it personally that you relax and enjoy. Note: Thank God, the sales people who glom onto you when you first arrive and won't let you go until they "update your profile" (code for: get you to spend more money on a higher end time-share) is over at the beginning of your stay and not the end. I suggest, just be firm and smile and tell them "no...I can get all the info I need from the website". The extra benefits they give you to spend 3 hours to "update your profile" is not worth it. I'd rather have those 3 hours to be on the beach with a cold one. I understand why the management does this but, it's a small blip on a great experience. My wife and I can't wait to return to "our place" and "our friends" next year.

Eravamo già stati alcuni anni prima e ci siamo ritornati attraverso il circuito RCI Semplicemente favoloso. Puluzia eccezionale, il personale molto disponibile e gentile. Molto vasto, sono diverse strutture sparse e di diverse grandezze e disponibilità. Noi avevamo un'appartamento con letto a tre piazze, bagno grande con vadca jacuzzi e vadca anche nel balcone. Cucina grande e attrezatissima. Unica nota negativa è che difficilmente puoi fare il bagno nel mare perchè nella battigia c'è pietra lavica Ma merita decisamente

Pasamos una vacaciones muy relajadas en el paradisíaco Grand Mayan Riviera Maya. El resort es muy bonito, el lugar donde esta situado es un paraíso, todas las instalaciones son de primer nivel. El servicio de todo el personal es de una amabilidad inmejorable. Un especial reconocimiento al Gerente General del Restaurante Tramonto, nos gusto muchísimo el restaurante, la comida y sobre todo el esmerado servicio.

When we first pulled up to the lobby to check in, we were told to move our car we could not park there to get checked in we had to park in the parking lot and pointed at the jungle, we did later find the parking lot but it is a very large facility and it took a bit of driving to do so. The cleaning staff blocked the entrance into the lobby and we had to find our way around them. The check in staff was polite enough and graciously upgraded our room if we agreed to attend the time share which we did, once checked in we asked for a bell boy to help with our luggage, and were told they were busy. After about 20 minutes waiting we asked if we could just use the luggage cart and get our own luggage out which we were told "go ahead". Our building was clean and modern and they brought us a small refrigerator per our request and the housekeeping staff did a very nice job keeping things tidy for us. One of the parking staff asked to bum cigarettes from us which we obliged, as it is always good to have friends in the parking area. The time share was supposed to be 90 minutes broken down into 30 minutes for breakfast and 60 minutes for the presentation. Breakfast took an hour as it was a very busy place and then the presentation went on for another 120 minutes, we finally told them to wrap it up as the stay so far had not been good enough for us to make a purchase and we were told we would continue to listen or we would not get our gifts after 3 hours for the presentation and breakfast we finally walked out on the presentation.
