Chris has done a good job remodeling this home. We stayed here with our family of 5 and had enough room as our children are small. This was a good value rental and served fine as a base to visit some of the attractions around Victoria.

The decor and facilities for this home exceeded our expectations. We got great sleep on comfortable beds with little or no city noise to disturb us. The kitchen was well equipped and appliances in top working condition. The bathroom was clean, warm, and well appointed. During our week stay, we found ourselves sometimes opting to "stay in" rather than go out because of the comfort level.
The location is on a cul de sac which promoted the "sanctuary effect" but was sandwiched between main arteries for easy access to the airport and downtown Victoria. Upon arrival, we opted for the 10 minute walk to the nearby shopping center to stock up on fresh groceries and our favorite beverages. A slightly longer route of just under two miles along shaded sidewalks leads to the harbor and tourist attractions. Every kind of shopping is within 10-15 minutes as are lovely trails such as those at Mt. Douglas which provides a panoramic view of the entire cityscape.
Note that the Google maps photos of this home which are on file in the Fall of 2018 are dated and do not reflect the cared for look and polished curbside appeal of the property.
Our host, Chris, was welcoming and responsive. His attention to details and efforts toward excellence through continuous improvement will quickly move this property to a top ranking.

We had a great time at Chris's place! Everything you need in one place and it's not far from downtown. The place itself was very clean and tidy and we definitely would stay there again :)

The owner was pleasant to deal with. The suite was realtively comfortable and clean though there were a few items of concern. The second bedroom advertised has no window, a plug in the kitchen was pulling out of the wall, a kitchen drawer constantly jammed and, not that this directly affects your stay, but a lot of the construction in the unit was definitely "handyman special"

A great way to see Victoria without spending everything on housing
So when you first see Chris' property, you might worry about the distance from downtown Victoria, and the fact that you're living in his basement. Fear not, we slept like the dead in his comfy beds, and saw everything we wanted to see while saving money by using his kitchen for many meals. Our interactions with Chris were very pleasant and he's full of information. He also respects the privacy of his guests. The best thing about his place is that the bus stop (50 line) is less than 2 minutes' walk away. BC Transit buses are clean, comfortable, run mostly on time, and schedules are available online and on their webpage. Plus no worries about parking! Unlimited day passes are $5 for adults. In the other direction, about 5 minutes walking will get you to a grocery store next to a small shopping mall. There's a gas station/mini mart about 1 minute from the property as well. There's even a salmon stream and hidden walking paths through the woods nearby, but I'll let you find them yourself...
