Roger was very quick to reply to emails and address any concerns I had.
The house was clean and tidy when we arrived.
The ground floor bedroom and shower room was ideal for us grandparents.
The bedrooms were a nice size. The kitchen was well equipped and the set of plastic bowls and plates were great for the grandchildren. The only disappointment we had, was the two sofas were old, uncomfortably and covered with throws which kept sliding off. Having said that we didn't spend much time inside.
Just open the gate and straight into the nicely kept garden and pool area.
The nice sandy beach was about a 10 minute walk away, also the marina with a cafe.
There are several cafes and a very nice restaurant (Piccolo Mare ) 15 minutes walk
and a Spa supermarket which is open all year round. There is also a pharmacy a short walk away. I would definitely recommend this house for afamily holiday.

Lovely villa close to the beach
Had a great stay here with the family. The kids loved the pool and the tennis/padel complex a few hundred yards away. Lots of good restaurants nearby, especially in Los Belones and only 5 minutes walk to the beach. Can't wait to come back!

Mar - vellous villa in Mar De Cristal
We have just returned from two weeks in Mar de Cristal staying at Roger's 3 bedroomed house on the Albatros 2 development. The house is fantastic, spacious, comfortable, well located with everything in the area within walking distance. The accommodation itself is well presented providing three good sized bedrooms and two bathrooms which more than catered for our party of six, 2 adults and four teenagers. WiFi and TV are available and of a good standard along with good air conditioning units in each room. The patio area which surrounds the property offers sun all day round or if preferred shaded areas which look out over the pool area and the well kept gardens. Access to the property is all on the level bar one small step so would be appropriate for any wheelchair users as there is also a downstairs bedroom. There is a brilliant community atmosphere surrounding this development as the properties comprise a mixture of holiday homes and peoples permanent place of residence. If you speak any Spanish at all you will be made so welcome as we were. There are rules surrounding the use of the pool which are not onerous and purely common sense, follow these and you will live in harmony with your neighbours !
Mar de Cristal is a really pleasant village on the Mar Menor with a beautiful beach and promenade, the summer population doubles as the residents of Murcia and Cartagena have their summer homes here. The local Padel Tennis Club is so welcoming and also has a good gym and runs spin classes yoga and pilates on a pay as you go basis 3 euros per class. In the same club the MDZ Tennis Academy is run by Miguel Dioz and his team of coaches, they cater for all standards and speak excellent English. If you are looking for high quality tennis / squads but not at the nearby La Manga Prices this is the place for you, in fact those in the know at La Manga come down to the club.
Nearby there is plenty to see and do, biking in the area is excellent both on road and off road, the trails from Portman over the top to La Union provide spectacular views over the surrounding area, down to the MAr Menor and the La Manga strip. Roger offers bike rental with the property and there is also a good quality rental service at La Manga club ( Biking La Manga - run by Geoff) who offers road and mountain bikes catering for the serious and not so serious riders if you need extra bikes. Calblanque National Park is stunning and the beaches there are not to be missed. Aqua Addicta run by Julian and Lesley provide top class watersports instruction and rental in Mar De Crostal at the end of the promenade.
About twenty minutes away is Cartagena a beautiful Spanish City with a strong naval heritage, Murcia the regional capital is approx 40 minutes by car and well worth a day trip. The local markets cater for all sorts of goods and food and tour the regional towns and then there is the food. Excellent restaurants abound the Tapas at the end of the beach in Mar de Cristal is hard to beat, Los Belones has some great and varied eating establishments and the seafood at the nearby fishing village of Cabo de Palos, (La Tana is exceptionally good).
Support from Jane and her team for the key arrangements were first class. A great holiday in a great villa in a great location. I would add to maximise the benefits of visiting this area you really should hire a car, the road system is good and Alicante Airport is around an hour and fifteen minutes away which gives the best variety of flight times (and car hire options) and San Javier is around twenty five minutes away.

Casa muy grande y perfecta para familia con niños
Muy tranquilo, Jardin precioso, piscina muy grande, lugar muy acogedor. La casa está muy bien y amplia. Lo que nos ha faltado era una cafetera, hamacas para tomar el sol. Las sábanas eran muy viejas y no teniamos recambio. Pero tiene solución fácil. Por lo demás hemos pasado unos dias muy buenos y volveriamos a repetir.
PD.: No hemos podido meter el coche, puerta defectuosa. Calle muy tranquila y podiamos aparcar en la misma puerta.

Amazing place! The villa absolutely exceeded our expectations, spotless clean, well equipped, very clean area, secure patio area where children can play in sight and also pool area in sight from patio. Myself and my children loved every minute can’t wait to go back.

Do not stay here!
The communal pool area is lovely. The gardens are well manicured but there are lots of restrictions. No balls, no inflatables, no food, no diving and no games. The "villa" is run down and dirty. As you enter the hall area it smells very strongly of must & mildew. The air conditioning is functional but only just as the units are very old & damaged. The kitchen is well equipped but be prepared to spend a few hours washing the cutlery & plates as we did on our arrival to remove old encrusted food. The place is unhygienic and needs a very deep clean to bring it up to any habitable standard. The settee is damaged and smells sickly of mildew. The patio area is vast but is full of dead, rotting plants. There are lots of far better quality & priced premises in this quiet part of Spain.

This person was a work colleague of my wife many years ago, they rented the villa as friends before we started general renting, the only complaint we got from them was an air conditioning unit did not work, we had an engineer there the same day, they refused to let him mend it. this villa is modern clean and large, perfect for a family, the only part of the report that is factual is the dead plants unfortunately these died between them arriving and our last visit, if they had told us when they arrived it would have been done immediately, we heard no complaints except the air conditioning unit till they got home then a week later they demanded all there money back, with a list of complaints. we have a local English agent nearby who will attend to the needs of our guests.
