Really nice apartment in a complex, close to 3 pools and the beach.
Walking distance to several shopping possibilities bars and restaurants.
One thing we would have liked different was the fridge was very small and old, i would have been nice with a larger fridge so we could have stocked up on everyday essentials

Cala Honda great base for exploring the coast
Beautiful complex with lovely gardens and easy access to the supermarket, cafes and lovely Luna Beach (short hill). Great pool areas with a lovely garden view from the balcony. Each bedroom had its own bathroom which was nice. Plenty of seating on the balcony and sun beds supplied. Host John was great at keeping in touch and the apartment was very clean on arrival.

Fantastic stay. Beautiful pool and gardens.
We really enjoyed our stay at Johns apartment. Lovely balcony and living area. The gardens and pool area are beautiful and well-kept. The beach and local shops are a short walk away, as is the bus stop. All major towns along the coast can be easily accessed by bus or car. Would definitely visit again

Sanitised before we arrived, Safe, Clean beautiful location
Despite the madness of the Covid-19 pandemic, we had a great time in Jardines de Calahonda, and the apartment was perfectly located, 2 minutes from 97Bar, 10 minutes from the beach, restaraunts and boardwalk and 5 minute drive to the supermarket and shops.
The south facing balcony looks over stunning gardens, the pool and the sea.
The apartment was sanitised before we arrived, and thus extremely clean. With two bedrooms, two bathrooms and plenty of space, it's a nice place to unwind, particulary if you relish eating out on the balcony, overooking perfect gardens and enjoy afternoon/evening sunshine as it creeps over the top of the apartment.
Our host's communication was second to none, keeping us up to date with Andalusia regional news etc.
Overall a great getaway.

Really lovely apartment & grounds
I was originally looking for a 1 bedroom apartment but never got that 'feeling' from my search so I expanded to look at 2 bedrooms and John's apartment really grabbed me. The apartment pictures are exactly how it looks, we found it to be very clean and it was nice to have a dishwasher and washing machine if needed.
The balcony was lovely and we spent many a lazy morning eating breakfast here deciding what to do for the day. It was great having Lidl close by to stock up on supplies.
The pools were great and barely used so it felt like we had our own private pool on several occasions.
We had a hire car but as mentioned in previous reviews you could easily manage without a car (as long as you don't mind walking back up the hill). There are a row of restaurants and bars about 20 mins walk from the apartment so we didn't feel like we always had to get in the car to go anywhere.
John was very helpful in the lead up to our stay with recommendations and also left a file of info in the apartment which helped greatly.

Fabulous!
Had a really wonderful holiday staying in this fabulous apartment. John (the owner) & Paul (the agent) couldn't have been more helpful. We've stayed in Calahonda previously, so we know the area is lovely and there's loads to do but we've never stayed in the Jardines de Calahonda before and we'll certainly be returning!! Amazing location for shops and the beach, which we've never had previously and the pools and picturesque views from the terrace are just fabulous. As previous reviewers have said you certainly don't need a car to stay here, but we like the freedom and enjoyed days out in La Cala, the gorgeous Mijas, the local waterpark and this year explored Malaga for the first time, which was another lovely day out with lots to do!
The apartment itself is great, comfy, clean with everything you need for your stay.

Perfect apartment
Perfect little apartment with everything you need within walking distance. The pools are great and the grounds arw very well maintained. Would definitely recommend a walk or short taxi to Puerto Cabopina marina with its lovely restaurants. Thanks again John for being so responsive before our holiday

Superb!
This was the first time we'd booked a holiday without a car rental - we purposefully chose this accommodation as it seemed close to the beach and supermarket and would be easy to get around by bus. How right we were! The beach is a gentle 10 minute stroll, the supermarkets (Lidl and Supersol, both large and well stocked) are about 7 minutes walk. We ended up walking daily to Lidl for fresh pastries and bread. 97 Bar is a couple of minutes away and is possibly the cheapest bar I have ever been to, and yet the owners were very friendly and we could enjoy free Wifi and Sky Sports - we visited a number of times during our stay!
The bus stop is opposite the supermarkets and the bus runs every half hour each way and takes you to Fuengirola for EUR1.55 per person. Cabopino with its small marina and restaurants was a short taxi ride away.
The boardwalk on the beach is not quite complete at this end of the resort but all the same the parts that were accessible made for a pleasant stroll above the beach and accessed further bars and restaurants along this part of the coastline.
There are 3 pools to enjoy, all within secure gated grounds which are beautifully maintained. The landscaped grounds really did make the holiday and the complex was surprisingly quiet when we were there in the height of the season with only maybe a dozen families there in total, so the complex was never noisy nor the pool full!
The apartment itself was ideal for our needs and very secure, with air conditioning and sun on the balcony during the afternoons and early evening. The washing machine was very handy.
The owner John was very responsive to e-mails and our pre-holiday enquiries, and the agent Paul who met us and showed us around was also helpful and pleasant.
Unfortunately while we were there our son developed an ear infection which meant that he was unable to fly home on time. John the owner could not have been more accomodating, allowing us to stay on after our booked dates until the next guests arrived, and Paul was also in touch but not intrusive to check everything was ok and liaise about vacating the apartment. It was a huge relief to have such helpful and sympathetic people to hand and I can't thank them enough.

Thanks for taking the time for such a comprehensive review. I generally do the same, fresh bread in the morning, stroll along the boardwalk, stop for lunch somewhere, have a glass (or 2) of wine and then wander back for a swim and resting on terrace enjoying the afternoon and evening sun. Since the apartment block is mainly residential it is normally quiet and the pools are rarely busy. Thanks again.

Fabulous Holiday
We have just returned from a fabulous week at the Jardines. We loved the gardens that are so well kept throughout the week. The pool was quiet and never very busy, so no rushing down at the break of day to reserve a place. The beach and supermarket are so close, everything is in walking distance. We loved Capobino marina, and ate there most nights. John the apartment owner was so helpful and provided us with loads of local info before we arrived, which was much appreciated. We will be back...

Great apartment for relaxing holiday
Me, my partner and our 5 year son stayed here for a week in August. The apartment had everything we needed. It was very spacious with a beautiful balcony overlooking the exceptionally kept gardens. The wifi and TV were an excellent bonus with our son.
We loved relaxing by the pools and the child's pool is shallow so he never got out of his depth.
Everything is within walking distance, the beach, bars and restaurants. Lidl was great to walk to and get our fresh bread every morning. Bar97 is a must with a lovely friendly atmosphere.
John was quick with replies and forwarded all the info we needed.
We would definitely go back.

Thanks for taking the time for a review. I too enjoy having fresh bread with breakfast on the terrace. I also love a glass of wine in the warm evening air looking at the gardens or, if inclined, I wander up to Bar97, which is always friendly. Alternatively I go to the beach for something to eat and a cocktail or two... Thanks again for your comments
