This house had everything we needed & was really handy for touring round the lakes
Stayed here as two couples & had a fab time.
It is comfortable, has loads of space, great wi-fi, fab showers & plenty of parking.
Whilst staying here we visited Cockermouth (what a cool place with hardly any high street chains), Keswick (cool boat trip), St. Bees (great beach & views) & took a walk to 'Soddy Gap' after we found some 'local walks' maps near the tourist info leaflets.
The best thing though was the peace & quiet - it was just amazing.
Thanks for letting us stay, we'll be back.

Fantastic Home from Home
We had a three night stay at Coldgill View and we loved it! Firstly the house itself is a really good size, its finished to a very good standard, all the rooms were very comfortable and the owner has thought of everything. The setting is ideal with the private garden overlooking the nearby countryside and the lake district visible in the distance. From Coldgill View its very easy to explore the lakes or go the other way and explore the west coast. We did both and thoroughly enjoyed all our days out. Cockermouth is also a very short drive away which provides all you would need in terms of supermarkets, restaurants, takeaways, pubs and shopping. All in all we really enjoyed it, I cant think of any faults or complaints and we would happily return should we want to explore that part of the world again.

Comfortable, well equipped holiday home ideal for touring Lakes
We enjoyed a relaxing five day stay in this well equipped, cosy, dog friendly cottage. The kitchen is equipped to a very high standard and the bed in the main bedroom was the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in away from home. Just three miles from Cockermouth (a real gem of a town) and within easy reach of all major Lakeland attractions, this is s real home from home.

As you say Cockermouth is a gem of a town with some fabulous independent shops making it a pleasure to Shop Local and of course some wonderful tourist attractions. Totally relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings
This place was originally two buildings knocked in to one beautifully renovated cottage, thoughtfully presented with its traditional features intact and all modern appliances available. The emphasis is on comfort and cosiness, with a fine log burner in the living room, big, soft sofas, armchairs and many interesting pictures and pieces of décor which the family have tastefully chosen to reflect the character of the Lake District. There are fine views across the River Derwent to Skiddaw in the distance and many interesting and invigorating walks in the locality. There is seating on the upper gallery/hallway where you can enjoy a cuppa whilst soaking up the scenery. The atmosphere and ambiance of the place invites relaxation, however, Cockermouth, with its many events and activities, is a short drive away plus the surrounding area has many pretty villages and stunning lakeside restaurants and pubs. There is much to do if you want to do it!
We were here in the early Winter and this presents its own type of beauty in the Lakes. This stunning cottage holds the secret of being a true home from home and we would not hesitate in returning. A huge thank you to Lesley and Roger!

Fantastic holiday home
A family holiday for 6 much enjoyed. Coldgill View is a large house with everything you could possibly need.
It’s spotlessly clean, has 2 large ensuite bedrooms, a smaller twin with a bathroom next door. Downstairs there is a large kitchen, 2 utility rooms, a loo, large entrance with stairs (very impressive) and a super lounge that had lovely views.
It was convenient for local places to visit, Cockermouth, Keswick, with about a 1 hour journey to Grasmere and a bit further on Windermere. Definitely worth a second visit.. 👍🏼

Superb family accomodation
Stayed her for a few nights in September '17. The house is superb in terms of appointment having everything you need for a stay in the Lakes. The views can only be described as fantastic! The house has been completely renovated and lacks nothing but the company you keep. Great position for exploring the Lakes and nearby coast.
I would wholeheartedly recommend booking a stay here, but the longer the better, so relaxing.

Superb holiday cottage
Myself and my husband have stayed at Coldgill View a number of times. Each time we have had a very enjoyable stay. The cottage is in a quiet village with views over open countryside. The house is modern and very comfortable with lots of home comforts. We are looking forward to our next visit.
