Superb village location with parking, shop just a few steps away as are 2 excellent pubs, park up and walk. Views are breathtaking. Very cosy, warm and exceptionally clean. Lovely to have a living flame gas fire for that homely feel, very well eqipped throughout, lovely secluded dog safe garden. Beds and pillows are the comfiest ever, lots of storeage space which is a bonus. Only slight downside is that the shower pressure is not great but you just have to stay in the shower longer! Love the modern tablet that welcomes guests and gives lots of useful information including how to use every appliance in the cottage. Plenty of room for 2 adults and children with 1 king size bedroom and a twin, 4 adults would also have plenty of room.Benefits from a shower cubicle and a deep bath. Stairs are steep so not good for anyone with mobility difficulties. Perfect though in every way.

Warm, clean & comfy
The cottage is clean, warm and very comfortable (good quality mattresses on all the beds) with plenty of hot water (great views from the bath, the only downside was the feeble electric shower in the separate cubicle which seems to be a common denominator in lots of Lakes rentals) and great views from the back of the house. It’s in a fantastic village 5 minutes drive from Keswick, with 2 good pubs, 2 tearooms and 2 restaurants. It’s 4 doors up from the village shop, which is handy. Lots of great walking from the door, high and low level, with a paddling stream accessible at the other side of the small caravan park in the village. There’s no off lead dog walks locally as the surrounding fields are all grazed, you have to head into Keswick, Dodd Woods or Whinlatter for that, but tons of on-lead from the door.
It’s not the poshest or the most up to date, but everything you need is provided. There’s parking directly in front of the cottage too (fits 1 large and 1 small car).
Keswick Cottages are a small, local company who I found helpful and personable. They are also much better value than all of the multi national rental sites, like for like. As a family, we’d definitely stay in Millside cottage again.

Another excellent stay
It was great to be back in our favourite cottage in the Lake District after over a year. The owners Ian & Sue have put a lot of work in to making the cottage COVID safe. Unfortunately as part of making it safe some items have had to be removed but that didn't detract from the facilities this cottage offers. Even the weather was good. Already booked up for November.

Pet friendly, well located comfy cottage.
Comfortable, warm and well located cottage in the centre of Braithwaite. Small enclosed rear garden dog safe. Good walks for all ability's from the door, close to village shop and two good pubs. Very handy for Keswick and all northern and central fells. Well equipped for self catering especially in these uncertain times. Perhaps more cutlery/crockery than just enough for four guests. Would stay again.

Great Cottage, Perfect Location
Braithwaite is a great location - away from the hustle and bustle of Keswick but close enough to easily access the amenities & Derwentwater. There were 2 great pubs open when we visited within easy walking distance from the Cottage. You are also able to walk directly up onto the fells from the village. The village shop is a few doors away and is very useful. The Cottage itself was perfect for us, although the kitchen was not well stocked, which was probably due to Covid restrictions. It was lovely to sit in the conservatory overlooking the lovely garden. We would definitely book this Cottage again.

Second visit, ideal location for walks and close to pubs and village shop
This was our second visit.
The highlights of Millside Cottage are its location - easy access to loads of different categories of walks from the door; four/five doors away from the village shop that sells most essentials, but beware their opening hours can be a bit erratic - at least they were on our second week; the cottage is within easy access of the Coledale Inn, our favourite - dog friendly and good food - the Lake District portions needed after a day on the fells; close to Keswick if you need to stock up on walking gear or shop at Booths - apparently described as the “Waitrose of the North’. Our favourite aspect of the cottage is the enclosed and totally dog-safe little garden that is a sun trap in the afternoon. Wifi is reliable, although mobile phone signal in the area isn’t great. Off road parking is a bonus, but you wouldn’t get 2 medium/large cars onto the parking area at the front of the house - more like a large and a small car as the front porch protrudes into the second space.
The service from Keswick Cottages - the letting agent - is superb; staff are truly customer focussed, they made contact to check that all was OK for us, and facilitated a transfer to another cottage in Braithwaite for 2 days at the end of our stay as Millside wasn’t available. Note that the owner maintains the property.
Overall a good experience, and we would definitely return.

Very Comfortable Cottage
We found the cottage clean, warm, well-equipped and furnished, and altogether a very comfortable place to stay. Both the downstairs living room and kitchen/diner are of a good size, as also is the upstairs shower/bathroom. The bedrooms are a touch on the cramped side, but storage space in both is perfectly adequate. There is parking space immediately in front suitable for one large/medium and one small/medium car. Braithwaite is one of our favourite spots in the Lake District, with access to the local fells direct from the cottage and the rest of the northern area easily reached by car. Overall, we would warmly recommend the cottage to others.

Exactly as described plus more. Clean, well equipped, in the most beautiful village with brilliant pub the coledale Inn with amazing good value food 2 minutes away. I wanted to stay longer. Would definitely recommend
