Rose Bank is a beautiful cottage, very well presented and as comfortable as it at first appears. The gorgeous back garden overlooking the fields and the fells completes the idyllic picture. As frequent holiday residents of Rose Bank we certainly appreciate its fantastic location but having stayed in other places over the last year I will never cease to appreciate all the little things about this holiday cottage that really make a difference. From reliable Wi-Fi and TV to immediate hot water regardless of how many showers required to a well equipped kitchen and an oven so incredibly clean it's amazing! Not to mention the books and jigsaws for that rainy day. This cottage is so well equipped the owners seem to have thought of everything to make for a very pleasant, enjoyable stay. Highly recommended.

Comfortable cottage with wonderful views.
We're just back from a fabulous stay in Braithwaite at Rose Bank Cottage. From the moment you walk in you know that this will be a real home from home. Fresh flowers, a bottle of wine and biscuits were a lovely touch. Comfortably furnished and very well equipped it has a large enclosed garden, ideal for our 2 dogs, with views up to Barrow and Grizedale Pike and the patio is a real sun trap. There is a second, small enclosed garden at the front of the house. We had no mobile reception in the house (ok at the top of the garden) but the wifi is excellent. A short walk brings you to the village with 2 good pubs and a well stocked shop. And there are plenty of longer walks direct from the cottage. Just one minor "niggle" - ignore the arrival instructions which say "drive through the wrought iron gate" - it just ain't possible! But there is ample parking on the drive itself. We are already planning a second visit next year.

Cosy pet friendly well appointed cottage in great location with excellent views
Located in the village of Braithwaite, this cosy cottage has an excellent location and the views are beautiful all round. The lounge/diner has full length sliding doors to the lovely garden and also a log burner. The kitchen has all the amenities with a small breakfast table. There is a small utility room with washing machine and a boot room for your walking gear. The bedrooms are very comfortable and the twin has an en-suite with shower. The downstairs bathroom also has an over bath shower and is well decorated.
The welcome pack from Keswick Cottages is a lovely touch and any time we have contacted them over the years we have always be dealt with very well. This property is definitely recommended for a relaxing break.

Cosy, home from home, perfectly placed ...
Lovely warm, cosy, home from home, stunning views from most windows, ideally located with many walks straight from the doorstep up onto the fells, within a few minutes. Very clean and well equipped kitchen. Modern bathrooms with powerful shower. Enclosed gardens ideal for our dog. Soft new fluffy white towels. Comfy bed with quality bedding. Amazing to wake up in bed and sit looking over the fells and beyond, through the bedroom window. Several pubs and eating places nearby (we especially liked The Coledale Inn, delicious food & good real ales). Teddy on the landing kept us company! Highly recommended.

Excellent Location
Lovely cottage. Beautifully presented. Welcome gifts of fresh flowers, wine and toffees. Fabulous views and a lovely open aspect at the rear of the property which can be enjoyed from indoors thanks to the patio doors in the lounge. All the facilities within the cottage matched this very high standard. Highly recommended.

Great views and location for explore Int northern lakes
Spent a week at Rose Bank cottage, well equipped and great views from the rear of the property, children loved feeding the pheasants in the garden, walking distance to local pub - the Royal Oak for food, recommend you book in advance though, also you get 10% discount off food if you mention where you are staying. Many walks from the cottage and short car trip to Keswick and Derwent Water.

Easter walking holiday
A great cottage in the heart of the Northwestern Fells. Plenty of hot water and heating and well equipped. If you are expecting a fully dog proof garden, this isn’t it... however it is a good size and if your dogs are well controlled it is a good garden. Bedrooms are a good size and two bathrooms - one downstairs and an en-suite upstairs - made for ample accommodation for our party. We loved it and will be back!

Cosy cottage in perfect village location
Very comfortable, cosy cottage within walking distance of village shop & pubs. Very dog-friendly garden with stunning views. We stayed over Christmas & loved the extra touches of tree, decorations & fizz. The only oddity is that the en-suite is in the twin bedroom...but all managed round that. Great walks from the cottage & surrounding areas...amazing scenery.

Rose Bank
We enjoyed our stay in this cosy cottage. We had a problem on arrival and having contacted the owners they could not have been more helpful, and worked extremely hard to get everything right for us. We found the cottage to be warm, and clean and comfortable.
The area is stunning, and the cottage well located in a lovely village with a convenient village shop and couple of good pubs with meals available. The views are great and there are lovely walks from the village itself.
I would definitely recommend this cottage and be happy to stay again.

Genuine homely cottage, great location
Cosy, convenient (2 mins from the A66), and comfortable. The owners were lovely, and the house has everything you need. Views of Skiddaw and fields and hills out to the back - just beautiful. Perfect walking base.
Another reviewer reported the road to be 'very busy' - actually very quiet when we were there. Very clean, no problems at all, wouldn't hesitate to return.
