Thank you Jan, for the wonderful welcome to London. The apartment was really great, ultra clean, handy to shops , to tube, or walking to sights. The best way to stay in London for five days. Coming home each day to your own apartment, no hassles! Everything we needed and more. Highly recommend it, to anyone who wants to have a wonderful time in London.

The apartment is in a great location close to Tower Bridge. Jan and Peter are very friendly and welcoming hosts and we really appreciated the information they gave on arrival. The apartment is comfortable, very clean and has a wonderful bed to home to after a day's sightseeing. All the facilities are there to make for a comfortable stay. We really enjoyed our stay.

My husband and I were so fortunate to find this wonderful flat on short notice due to a cancelation. We will plan ahead for our next visit to ensure a vacancy because everything was perfect! The location of the flat; the amenities; the cleanliness; the bright, airiness of it; the comfortable bed and nice linens were all delightful. The owners, Janet and Peter checked us in, ensured we were connected to their wifi and familiarized us with door locks, appliances and amenities in the area. They even left us bread, butter, tea and jam for our 1st morning! We loved returning after a long day to watching the boats on the Thames with a glass of wine and a gorgeous cheese from the Borough Market! It was a great visit! Thank you Janet and Peter. The apartment met our needs in all respects. It was delightful. Decorated well throughout with a real London theme, some of the owners photographs adorning the walls were fabulous. The owners looked after our needs really well, very helpful both before and during our stay. We did not meet them personally but we had no problem seeking their advice on the phone number supplied. The apartment was meticulously clean and in good order throughout. It benefits from the obvious TLC provided by the owner and cleaning staff. Location wise it could not be better placed. We enjoyed the Shad and all other surrounding facilities. It is also easy to get to the tube. The riverside walk is a real pleasure.

We were so delighted to have found such an oasis in the heart of London town. Janet and Peter were great and nothing was too much trouble for them. Upon our arrival we were shown around the apartment facilities which were exceptionally clean and well maintained, there was lots of special touches that added to the ambience of this oasis which was very light and airy. Jan talked us through the extremely detailed information folders, they contained every map of London you could possible need such as Tube, Bus and Boat links and the location of Theatres in the West End and even Tower Bridge lift times. She relayed lots of info about this historic and unique part of London and her wealth of knowledge was quite impressive and quite entertaining. Nearby Shad Thames with it's overhead iron bridges provided us with various upmarket restaurants, small intimate cafes and old wordly bars as well as shops and food delicatessen for special treats. The local supermarket Tesco was only five minutes walk away which provided all the provisions we needed. The photos were exactly as seen in the advert and being next to the river Thames gave a feeling of almost a coastal retreat - it was so different to other parts of London where we have stayed. They provided milk, sugar, tea, cereals, conserves, bread and butter, including various condiments so that saved us having to shop after a full day travelling. The terrace was such a bonus as having walked and walked all day it was great to relax on the sun loungers most evenings, whilst listening to the sounds of busy London - such an exciting time. Really there was nothing to bother about and nothing that bothered us, and if we needed anything then Jan and Peter were only a phone call away. With the complimentary bottle of wine provided by our hosts it was the perfect start to our London vacation. Need we say anymore - so look no further, THIS OASIS IS DEFINITELY NO MIRAGE.

The pre-trip service was excellent. The owner was very accomodating in terms of facilitating payment process, answering all email questions in a very timely way, making excellent suggestions related to travel to and from Heathrow, and a willingness to adjust some aspects of our trip in response to our particular requests. However, when we arrived neither the owner, due to medical reasons, nor her spouse was available to meet with us as planned so we met with their representative who was very kind; but could not explain how to safely operate the small, portable air-conditioner in the bedroom, the microwave, or the vacumn cleaner which needed to be emptied. So the most helpful resources for us became the two giant informational notebooks prepared by the owners, one about the unit and the other the area. While in need of some updates, including the contradictory information about the wi-fi password and no guidance for using the bedroom air conditioner, the notebooks were very thorough and artfully arranged. We arrived on a weekend and I became ill with a fever of 103. I did call the owner to ask her what medical help I should seek and where. We followed her suggestions only to find the clinic she suggested closed. So we found another alternative on our own. We never did meet the owner or her spouse during our 2 week stay and had but one exchange of polite emails. The property location was an amazing surprise, especially because I had not stayed on the Southside of the Thames, in spite of the fact that I have made at least 25 or so lenghty stays in London north of the Thames. The Shad Thames Walkway, Globe and Wannamaker theatres, the Tate Gallery, the hundreds of newly available housing units built in period style, the pedestrian bridges over the Thames with a view of the Globe on the SouthBank and St. Paul's on the NorthBank are the results of smart planning, imaginative development, and generous funding. The unit itself was disappointing to me because I expected a lovely terrace where we could sit and enjoy ourselves viewing the activity on the Thames. However, there is a 5 foot concrete wall that surrounds the terrace advertised as having beautiful views of the river. However, when seated on the terrace you can only see the wall and the terrace itself...you must stand by the wall to have a view. The outdoor furniture was white molded plastic which had dulled with age. There were no flowers and just a few plants in clay pots lying in the corner needing care and trimming. When you walk to the wall to see the view it was the lovely Thames flowing by on one side and the a hugh construction site next to the building on the other side. This site included the remains of a structure and a large area covered with a hugh black tarp and lots of droning tractors and other equipment which we were told was being used to build a South Thames tunnel a multi-year project. It was both noisy and unsightly. Since the unit had no properly working vacumn cleaner or sturdy broom and dust pan we could not keep the floor and carpets free of debris from the terrace floor. Since we were provided only one sheet, two pillowcases, for two weeks and told not to use the washer for towels or other heavy objects we made do. Since the " air-conditioner" in the bedroom had no workable exhaust vent option it was necessary to open the large bedroom door to the terrace thus allowing hot air in while trying to cool the space, We tried to give the benefit of the doubt for these and several other issues to the owner because of her recent illness; however, we now feel that the unit is older and perhaps suffering from some lack of attention. We most enjoyed the very convenient location of the apartment close to transportation, a grocery, superb outdoor markets, diverse and excellent restaurants, and the wonderful Shad Thames walkway. The apartment building seemed safe and secure. We were disppointed in the usability of the terrace (obstructed views of the Thamescape), the slightly neglected and cluttered feel of the space incuding various essentials for renters along with the owner's personal belongings ( the apartment is the owner's former residence.). The area carpets in both the living room and the bedroom are worn and old and should be replaced or removed.

We were met by the hostswhotooks U.S. Through the features and operation of the equipment, appliances and security' system, etc. then we sat down and went through the detailed information packs prepared by the hosts. These provided the necessary information for emergencies and location of trains/buses, supermarkets and attractions. We appreciated the welcome pack of food to start us off. The apartment was well located, easy walking distance to Tower Bridge and local services. It was also well furnished which made our stay throughly enjoyable.

Janet and Peter have a lovely flat that is situated a short walk from the tube, and within walking distance to all things London. It is the perfect location and the pictures were spot on. We enjoyed a no rush visit. We were taking a tour of the British Isles and would only be in London for a day and a half . What? You can't do London justice in that short amount of time. We loved "living" in this London apartment during our week-long stay in London! The apartment was so well-appointed! Janet and Peter have thought of everything a traveler might need and then some! They provided us with so much wonderful information -- from area history to the lay of the land to important contact information and transportation info and it was helpful to have a few groceries on hand upon our arrival as well. Their warm welcome upon our arrival was also much appreciated after a long night of traveling. And thank you again for the thoughtful extras for our son! The apartment was very clean and quiet. Just enough room for our family of three! It was very comfortable and it really felt like we were coming "home" at the end of a long day of sightseeing and fun! The location was wonderful! We were hoping for a place that was a bit removed from the hustle and bustle but still easy to get everywhere and this is definitely the right location. It was a short walk in either direction to get to the underground or the bus. But the best way to see the sights was on foot and we especially loved being able to walk out our door and walk all along the South Bank of the Thames. And how thrilling to walk around the corner from the apartment and see the Tower Bridge!! With a small market close by we were able to get anything we needed and it was nice to be able to have breakfast on our own in the apartment before heading out for the day. We couldn't have asked for a better stay; two months later we find ourselves "homesick" for our London visit and the apartment that felt like our home while in London. Janet and Peter, thank you for making our trip to London so enjoyable and for providing such a warm, wonderful place to stay. We hope to return someday and we would HIGHLY recommend your property and your hospitality to friends and relatives.
