The manager Cheryl lives to the left of the cottage, and will aim to meet you when it's mutually convenient. We ask you to inform her of your likely arrival time in advance, and she will leave a key for you, and call to meet you at her earliest convenience. A Welcome Pack will include a bottle of wine + an Information folder.
There are two Sainsburys nearby, Tesco, plus a Co-Op, plus the village shop (early closing Wednesdays). Our Virgin Media WiFi is excellent.

Midsomer Cottage was perfect for our two night stay, our first break away since Lockdown.
The cottage is spacious, has everything you could need, and the welcome basket was a lovely touch.
Iffley is picture perfect, within walking distance to Oxford along the river, or an easy 10 minute bus journey,
Next time, we’ll stay for longer.

Fantastic cottage in a beautiful village
We spent four nights at the cottage for a staycation in a group of four.
- The cottage is spacious, homely and beautifully furnished. It is very well equipped and has a huge folder with lots of info about local pubs and amenities. Cheryl even left us a games compendium and a couple of fans to cater for all weather eventualities! We loved spending time in the living room with its comfy sofas and armchairs and having breakfast in the deck area / little back garden. The kitchen also overlooks a neighbouring garden.
- The location is perfect for local walks with plenty of pubs within walking distance. We would recommend the Magdalen Arms which is just a 15 mins walk away - lovely food! We were very comfortable without a car and called taxis a couple of times to get to / back from some pubs.
- Sue and Cheryl were fantastic and thoughtful hosts. We were travelling during the covid period and they went to great lengths to ensure that we had a comfortable, relaxing and safe stay. Thank you!!

Wonderful cottage for a fabulous weekend in Oxford
Four of us stayed in Midsomer Cottage for two nights for a family member's birthday. Arriving after a long drive on a freezing cold Friday evening, we were delighted to find that the heating and the lights were on and there was a lovely gift basket in the kitchen! The cottage was welcoming and cosy, with on street parking a doddle. The king size bed went down very well and it was great to have two washrooms so no fighting over bathrooms in a morning. On Saturday we walked into Oxford which was a pleasant 40 minute stroll, on Sunday we caught the bus from Iffley Turn which was very convenient. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer.

If you're looking for the greatest cottage you have found one!!
We have lived in this cottage for one month from 12th of November to 12th of December.
We advise everyone who wants to have a rest in calm place.
The house is very beautiful, very comfortable and very clear.
You can find everything you need for a long living, each detail is provided for.

Week's stay for son's wedding
Midsomer cottage is a wonderful house with useful onstreet parking in a lovely part of Oxford. We enjoyed the walk by the lock and towpath into Oxford. The attic bedroom is certainly not for the less agile and during the particularly hot weather it was hard to sleep there. Otherwise we found the house very suitable for our needs during a busy week of wedding preparation. Thank you to Sue and Cheryl for your helpfulness.

Home from home
Our family of five stayed in this wonderful Victorian property in December and cannot fault it. The property owner Sue was a delight and so very welcoming, Sue went out of her way to help settle us in and to pass on advice on best places to eat, local walks etc etc. The house is full of character, warm, clean and very comfortable. Our children loved the quirky layout (actually we adults did to) Its in a perfect location and the village is beautiful and offers a choice of places to eat right on the doorstep. I could not fault any aspect of this property and if you prefer to cook at home then the kitchen has everything you will need. We hope to go back one day. Thanks Sue

You will feel like home
Midsomer Cottage is cosy, includes everything you need and is a good base for a lovely holiday in Oxfordshire. Starting from the house you can walk along the Themes to Oxford, what we really enjoyed! We got a lovely welcome-basket with coffee, milk, toast, butter, eggs, orange juicy and lots more. We felt like home right away!

Midsomer Cottage
We enjoyed our stay at Midsomer Cottage. On our arrival we were surprised with an excellent welcome pack. The cottage is managed well by a lovely lady next door.
The beds are comfortable,we all slept very well.
We loved being near Iffley lock and the walk into Oxford by the river.

Muy recomendable
Casa perfectamente acondicionada y muy agradable. En un barrio residencial muy agradable, con todo tipo de comodidades, y muy bien comunicado. Perfecto para ir en familia.
