We would like to invite you to stay in our elegant Georgian manor house, located in the very heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Situated in the beautiful Llangorse Lake Valley and surrounded by some of the best walking country in the United Kingdom, Tall John's House is an ideal retreat.
We are blessed to have lovely countryside and dramatic natural scenery on our doorstep. For anyone who enjoys walking, cycling, golf, horse-riding, fishing or other outdoor country pursuits, a visit here will feel like a trip to paradise! We also have a table-tennis table and sauna facility. If you are a less energetic person, you can relax in front of our open log fires or play billiards in our snooker room.

Best wedding day!
A massive thank you to Archie, Liza and the team at Tall John’s House. We exclusively hired the venue for our wedding in October for 3 days and we had the best day ever! The luxury barn was the perfect space for our wedding and didn’t need much in terms of decor as it’s such a beautiful space in itself. The grounds are so picturesque and very well maintained by all the ground staff who work hard to keep it looking so beautiful - we were lucky to have the most perfect Autumn day and the grounds just looked so incredible with all the Autumn colours, we honestly couldn’t have hoped for any better. The breakfasts provided by Ken were scrumptious - we had a full English provided for both mornings. Ken also cooked us up a storm for guests staying on Friday night which was again very tasty. A massive thank you to Archie - his laid back demeanour just makes everyone feel at ease and we used Doctor’s Orders bar for the evening of our wedding - the cocktails were on point! Thank you again to everyone for making it simply the best day we could have ever hoped for.

Beautiful weekend, thoroughly recommend
We got married at the beautiful Tall Johns House, after relocating from another venue. After our previous negative experiences we were apprehensive, but we couldnt have had a better experience than with Liza and Archie at Tall Johns. Liza was efficient, reliable and supportive from the word go and Archie was a total pleasure on all the face to face meetings and on the big day, no request was too big or small. Archie even took the trouble to step away from the bar if he noticed my partner or I were without a drink, to bring us one.
The accomodation was beautifully furnished, clean and extremely comfortable and the breakfasts were amazing. We even chose to stay an additional day after the wedding just to enjoy our surroundings and just to make our wedding last a little longer, as we didn't want it to end.
We could not be happier with our wedding weekend and want to do it all over again. If you're considering getting married there or even just staying, we would thoroughly recommend. Thank you so much Archie and Liza for the best experience!! X

Best wedding venue and weekend stay
We feel so so incredibly lucky to have been able to have our wedding at Tall Johns. From the outset, nothing was too much trouble and we could really design the exact wedding we wanted. Liza, Archie, Lisa, and Ken were were all the absolute best and were always on hand to answer questions or help with elements of the wedding. Having the hire of the whole venue and all of the accommodation on site was insane - we got to have all of our closest people on site with us for the whole weekend and this made it so special. We even had the granary the evening before the wedding to have a rehearsal dinner and drinks. We were so lucky with weather and so ended up making a last minute decision on the Friday to get married outside the next day - something that was really special to us, especially given the glorious surroundings. I really can’t speak highly enough of the venue, the surroundings, the experience, the opportunity to design what we wanted, and the amazing individuals who make the day so special. I would recommend this venue to anyone and wish we could do the whole weekend all over again. Astrid and Pete

Fabulous place- great wedding venue
Stayed for a friends wedding and loved the place- beautiful venue and really helpful staff. We were able to check in early and change before the wedding which was great. Rooms were great standard and so was the wedding venue

Gorgeous, friendly venue.
We came for our friends' wedding. The house in is the most beautiful location. The accommodation is lovely, with really comfy beds and the hosts are super-friendly and nothing seemed like too much trouble. We've had the best time here.

Beautiful country home in a wonderful setting.
Our team recently travelled to South Wales for a corporate awayday to enjoy a stay at Tall John’s House which is a beautiful country house which boasted beautiful views over the Brecon Beacons, steepled in history. We received a very warm welcome with staff on hand to cater to our every need and would very much recommend.

Fabulous once again
After a two year delay it was an absolute delight to return as a group of 16 walking and yoga friends in March. We were blessed with beautiful weather and the entire weekend was spectacular. As always the team were really helpful and accommodating. If anything Ken’s meals were even more delicious and we couldn’t have been happier.
The house is delightful, it is grand but so comfortable and welcoming that you feel completely at home. No-one wanted to leave and we dearly want to go back in 2023.

Lovely quiet location, very friendly and hospitable
We stayed over two nights in the Manor bedrooms,which were fabulous. We booked an evening meal on the first night, which was beautifully cooked by Ken, and made to feel like we were home from home.
Ken and Liz make a great breakfast and Archie was a wonderful host.
Look forward to visiting again with more family,
maybe booking Honeysuckle Cottage, which is surprisingly spacious.
Highly recommended!

A fabulous birthday treat.
For a special birthday treat I booked my two good friends and myself into Tall John's.
Liz welcomed us to the beautiful Georgian house and her warmth and professionalism shone through.
We were introduced to a beautiful home with wonderful rooms and the most gorgeous gardens so lovingly tended to by the friendly gardener.
The whole atmosphere of Tall John's is a credit to the team who look after their guests to the highest standard with such attentiveness and thoughtfulness.
We thoroughly enjoyed the supper Ken made us and the breakfasts are delicious, to be savoured and enjoyed in the relaxed atmosphere that fills the house.
Archie, Liza and Robin have an incredibly special home, with an exceptional team who ensure your stay is first class.
It was a real pleasure to spend a few days at Tall John's, one which we hope to repeat!
