One of our most magical holidays ever!
One of our most magical holidays ever! The lodge was cosy, clean yet spacious. As a keen cook it was a delight to find the kitchen well stocked with decent cooking utensils and equipment. Lorna was the loveliest host we have ever encountered and couldn't have been more helpful. The hot was so easy to use and got well used by my wife and daughters. For us, we could not have found a better place to holiday. The views from the lodge were a delight to wake up to and the sunsets a delight to watch (with a glass or two!) We will definitely try to book again in the coming years. Thank you so much Lorna for making us so welcome. Highly, highly recommend!!!

What a brilliant find Rowanlea Lodge was. As soon as we arrived and greeted by Lorna who had the put the fire on for our arrival on what was one of the wettest miserable days of the Summer we knew we had picked the right place to stay. The lodge is very homely and cosy and everything had been thought of, the outside hot tub and BBQ area had everything you needed. The dog proof garden was a godsend for our two Beagles. The lodge is in prime location to explore the local area and further a field as you are never far from a main road, ideal for driving around exploring, walking or simply just relaxing. We definitely made the most of it all. Lorna thank you again for your hospitality, absolutely second to none.

Stunning Lodge
We all enjoyed our stay at Rowanlea Lodge . The lodge was cosy and homely with stunning views. Lorna was a lovely host when we arrived and made sure everything was there what we needed. Our dog Max enjoyed the freedom of the enclosed garden. At the end of our holiday we didn’t want to go home as we really enjoyed this lovely lodge. We would recommend this lodge to anyone .Lorna goes above and beyond for her guests .

AMAZING!!!!
We had an amazing stay! The lodge is absolutely beautiful cosy and relaxing our host Lorna was so helpful and informative on what to do, places to go and best shops etc she has spent great care and attention to detail within the lodge all the little touches were so lovely, beautiful hand wash, shower gel and lovely scented reed diffusers, gorgeous soft furnishings and a cute little breakfast hamper upon arrival and some fresh items in the fridge for us.The lodge was spotless and we absolutely loved the hot tub area and bbq which we used one day after going into town to the local butchers for our bbq food which was super yummy! You can tell Lorna has put a lot of time and effort into making your stay perfect, we really didn’t want to leave and the kids were also complaining about having to head home after our stay as they had such a good time! Thanks again we will definitely be back!

Cosy lodge
This is such a nice cosy place to spend time relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of busy cities. My daughters and I had a wonderful week. It had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Lorna was always at hand with anything we needed and even after we checked out and left some of our belongings behind, she packaged and posted them to us. We will surely be back again. Perfect lodge and wonderful host!
I spent a lot of time searching for accommodation that would suit the needs of our family (2 adults, 6 year old and a dog). Our main needs were an enclosed garden, wifi, hot tub and to be close to the coast for beach trips and Rowanlea ticked every box and more. Lorna the host has done such a wonderful job and clearly taken a lot of time and effort to create the space and add such lovely touches. Upon arrival we had a breakfast hamper complete with homemade jam and local produce and she even provided dog bowls, treats and poo bags. The lodge is finished to a very high standard and I honestly cannot fault anything at all. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful lodge, lovely host!
We couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more at Rowanlea lodge. The lodge itself was absolutely incredible, decorated beautifully, clean and homely! Our dog loved the enclosed garden and was able to wander in and out as she pleased. The hot tub and bbq were regularly enjoyed each night after venturing out each day. Lorna couldn’t have been a more exceptional host, her attention to detail and the hamper on arrival was a lovely touch. We were made to feel very welcome. This really is a 1st class lodge experience, me and my family will definitely be back in the near future. Thank you Lorna, we hope to see again soon :)

Would not recommend
Unfortunately, we did not have an enjoyable stay at Rowanlea Lodge. The host, Lorna, will do anything she can to keep your security deposit, so beware of this when booking! We were accused of damaging sheets that were not used, asked to replace table cloths due to a spillage during a meal and had to pay additional charges for guests. The house is not really dog friendly, with white carpets throughout, so be mindful of this. The host also lives on the grounds of the property which is not advertised. I think you could stay in more private, welcoming and family friendly places elsewhere for the same price. Would not recommend.

Dear Sarah Thank you for taking the time to review Rowanlea Lodge. I'm disappointed to hear you felt the property wasn't suitable for your short stay and you wouldn't recommend to others. When you booked the property there were 2 adults and 1 pet on the booking details. During your stay there were 3 dogs and a total of 8 adults. You had no respect for the property and didn't abide by our house rules which are clearly stated on the booking platform and in the welcome pack. .Additional charges apply per guest if accommodating more than 4 adults. Our Insurance only covers a maximum of 6 guests and 1 infant at any given time. There were several items damaged during your stay and part of the security deposit was used to replenish these items. The remaining balance was returned to you. Well behaved pets are welcome but are not permitted in bedrooms or on any furniture. There is plenty of space in the secure fenced gardens surrounding the property for dogs to explore, the kitchen and living room area is natural slate flooring where dogs are also welcome. Rowanlea Lodge was designed with great care and attention to detail to provide a luxury Log cabin experience with many additional facilities, this is apparent in the 5 star reviews I have received over the past 8 years since we opened in 2016. Again I'm sorry your stay wasn't enjoyable and I hope you find somewhere more suitable for your next family holiday.

Perfect getaway
The perfect holiday lodge, beautiful location, lovely host and absolutely everything you could need! A real home from home. It was so nice to arrive to the warmth of the stove and a great welcome hamper. The lodge was beautifully decorated throughout and spotlessly clean. We enjoyed every minute, from relaxing in the hot tub, to sitting by the woodburner on the cold evenings. I also enjoyed watching the wildlife come and go, the woodpecker was my favourite! The area has some fantastic dog walks, St Cyrus beach was definitely my dogs favourite! We will absolutely book again and look forward to our next visit, highly recommend!

Fantastic lodge
What a fantastic stay at Rowanlea Lodge! We took a last minute gamble to book a trip here for the first time and were blown away. Lovely clean and spacious lodge, with all amenities you could wish for. Beautiful hot tub and fire which were ideal for chilling on a snowy day or night under the stars. Totally dog friendly with an enclosed garden. Host was very helpful and friendly. Cannot recommend enough, we are already planning our next trip.
