We had a lovely stay in this beautifully appointed apartment which felt so homely and comfortable - the perfect place to relax in after full days exploring Edinburgh and beyond. Ideally located for access to all of Edinburgh's main attractions as well as the numerous restaurants close by. A wonderful pre Christmas getaway

The honest and frank description from the owner is what it is. There are stairs, actually 68 steps and can be a bit of challenge with shopping and parking was total nightmare. But then again you should know this by the time you have made a reservation. But that said, it really is a nice apartment, it was really clean and has an excellent view from the living room. The kitchen is well equipped and basically you have everything you need. What makes it extra special is the location, you can get almost anywhere on foot, you can reach restaurants and Princess Street in just a few minutes. If you can handle the stairs and have patience to park (or have an alternative plan) then I would strongly recommend. The open fire place was also very welcome during the chilly evenings, although the apartment is also very warm. If every I visit again I would have not hesitation staying again.

We visited this apartment in June 2021 and overall had a lovely stay. We knew the apartment was accessed by stairs but they did unfortunately get the better of us – so many of them! – particularly when trying to move luggage up and down, and we are relatively fit people so be prepared for a bit of a ‘hike’. Car parking proved to be a real issue for us unfortunately. The owner was really helpful with details of car parking and whilst it is very expensive for short term parking outside the apartment we did pay this in order to unload luggage. We then went to move the car to Pilrig Street for the free on-street parking but unfortunately could not find a single spot! This could be down to the roadworks being undertaken in that area so car parking affected by that? We did eventually find another spot to park about 15/20 minutes walk away. The apartment itself is clean and welcoming although the bathroom and second bedroom were quite a bit smaller than we expected from the photos but still adequate. The second bedroom has no external window just a high window onto the kitchen so very little natural light in here. Both beds were extremely comfortable and the apartment is very quiet and peaceful. The lounge – our favourite place – is lovely. Spacious, well furnished and lots of natural light from a large window with fabulous views over the area and Calton Hill. To sit here in the evening with a glass of wine was so therapeutic. The kitchen is well equipped and also spacious. Once we found our way around, the city centre is a 15/20 minute stroll away although there is lots to do in the immediate area also. Overall, a lovely apartment but it was just the stairs and the parking which got the better of us unfortunately. Don’t let this put you off if you think you can manage the stairs though – the apartment itself is lovely and the host, Martin, is excellent. Very prompt at answering emails and providing information and recommendations.

Wow, what can I say? This apartment is stunning. Perfect location, every detail is so thought out. We visited as a family of 4 during a lockdown period in Edinburgh, we filled our days (responsibly) visiting tourist attractions and spent our evenings in the cosy apartment, fire on, ordering take aways. Martin was the perfect host and attentive and so flexible when both our flights were changed. The kids loved their room, perfect for them both to share, and our master bedroom was huge. The views are really beautiful of Calton Hill, so much so that I fell in love with the location and bought a piece of art from a local artist of the Hill. Thank you Martin for being the perfect host and letting us stay.

Just returning from a week staycation at this gorgeous flat. Everything we needed for a comfortable week. Flat was spotlessly clean and is very well equipped. Location couldn't be better, 10 minute stroll to Princess St. Plenty of nice restaurants on the doorstep. We are already planning a return visit.

We decided to take a short Autumn break in Edinburgh to celebrate my wife’s retirement at a well known Edinburgh restaurant in Leith. We elected to stay at the log fire city centre flat after a thorough search on Trip Advisor. I have a very fussy wife, so it pays to get it right. We certainly did, this is a great flat, very comfortable, warm and quiet, but so handy for everything. We walked everywhere. Highly recommended. You won’t be disappointed. We ate out for all meals and Edinburgh has such a wide choice to offer in the New Town and Leith. Tom Kitchin’s in Leith, Contini’s Cafe at the National Gallery, and Cadiz in George Street all deserve 5 stars and were excellent. Breakfast, just round the corner at Valvonna and Crolla. Fantastic selection of Italian Foods, Great delicatessen, and a super wee cafe upstairs serving best Scottish Porridge since Gleneagles Hotel and wonderful coffee. Very friendly and they entertained me teaching my wife to improve her Italiano! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will book again, without hesitation.

Very nice apartment and great location for sightseeing and shopping in Edinburgh, Apartment was well equipped and rooms were big and clean.

This was our second time using this apartment and again everything was perfect. Very very clean, great location, lovely decor, well equipped and comfortable. I had looked at others but booked again here as nothing else seemed quite as good. So pleased we stayed here and thanks again Martin for being so helpful and accommodating during our stay. Will definitely use again.

Wonderful place, chic and clean. Very close to many attractions, certainly will be our choice when visiting Edinburgh again!
