I had booked the Strawberry Safari Shepherd Hut for my partners birthday, I chose to stay in Florence after reading the descriptions of each hut. What a wonderful treat!! Upon arrival we were met with Andy who was most informative on everything we needed to know about the hut and recommending places to visit in the local area. Even from the initial booking the website was super quick and easy to book and Claire sent confirmation email and answers to any questions quickly. Florence was immaculate, spotlessly clean and brilliantly stocked with everything you require from cook wear to slippers and complimentary biscuits, tea coffee and milk. The hut was nice and toasty warm upon arrival. We choose to cook meals within the hut the nights that we were there and its a great space for two to be cooking in the kitchen :) Plenty of hot water on constant supply. It is silently quiet on a night so had wonderful nights sleep although we got visitors walking about on the roof at dawn, this made it even more special as the sound of birds and total peace and quiet felt like you had been dropped in the middle of nature. Upon rising on a morning wild rabbits were scattered around the field. On the Saturday afternoon we ventured out for a walk and had intended to have a drink at the George just a coupe of minutes away although please be advised they are closed from 2pm until 5pm. We walked just over a mile to Markington where there is the Yorkshire Hussar Inn, Again food stops at 2pm until 5pm so best to eat earlier in the day. Lovely friendly busy pub and plenty of drinks options. The village is an idea location also if you wish to visit near by sights and attractions, when we checked out we only had a short drive to Newby Hall for the supercar in the park show. We enjoyed our stay so much we have rebooked for another visit in a few weeks :) Great find and a lovely couple who run this beautiful site.

Just got back from having a lovely 2 night stay in the sonata shepherds hut. For a small space its surprising what can be fitted in to it. A good sized bed, handy little kitchen, en-suite facilities, cosy chairs. Lovely peaceful surroundings. Very charming hosts.

We stayed for two nights in Florence with our little boy and had a wonderful time. The hut was fab, with everything you could need and was absolutely immaculate. It stood in its own little garden plot and was very private with a lovely outlook. The owner was on hand if required but not intrusive and it was a perfect spot for a short break; excellent road links and within a short drive of the lovely village of Ripley. Just home from an absolutely amazing 2 nights stay here! Highly recommend, the hut has everything & more! comfy bed and homely accessories.The owners have literally thought of everything to make your stay perfect😊. It’s lovely and peaceful a fantastic location for some husband & wife time. The owners Claire & Andy are there to welcome you and explain all you need, they are more than happy to help you with places in the area to visit, we will definitely return here. We stayed here for 2 nights in late September. Claire and Andy were fantastic hosts with excellent local tips and restaurant recommendations. In terms of our ‘Florence’ Hut, it was perfect. It has everything one would need for eating/sleeping/showering and has been furnished to a remarkably high taste and quality - it is amazing what has been provided in the available space. The outside area was very tranquil, and we were lucky with great weather, so enjoyed sitting outside with the chairs provided. It is also very central for local attractions. We could not wish for anything better in terms of booking process, tips, facilities, hosts, or location! Thank you again and best wishes for your continued success

Just returned from a 2 night stay in the Florence Shepherd’s hut. Booking process was really easy and I received a confirmation email with all the info I needed from Claire and she answered any queries that I had and also arranged the use of the fire pits for both nights of our stay at an extra charge. Andy greeted us on arrival and was really friendly and welcoming and showed us to our hut. It had everything we needed already there, it was really quaint and cosy with extra details like jo malone and le creuset products. The hut was a really high standard and made us feel cut off from the world in the best way possible. We loved the grounds and the fairy lights and were able to pick some of our own fruit from the apple trees on site. It was our first shepherds hut experience and we would absolutely love to come back and do it again especially considering how many attractions are close by in the area. Claire was really nice and refunded us for use of the fire pit on our second night as we didn’t get to use it because of the rain and Claire and Andy were both there to see us off upon checkout. Really hope to return thank you for a lovely stay!

Just had 2 wonderful nights in Elsanta - a special birthday treat to myself. Beautiful spot, hut had everything you could need and all to a really high quality. Lovely being able to wander and pick fruit. Perfect for visiting places or just sitting in the field with a good book. Claire and Andy ideal hosts. Would highly recommend.

What an incredible place to stay with warm and friendly hosts and accommodation with superb attention to detail. The Elsanta shepherds hut is set in a beautiful wood and gives off a magical appearance day or night, inside it has plenty of space for two adults and is very well appointed with all the items you would expect for a self catering experience. Lovely thoughtful touches include tea, coffee, biscuits, plus milk and water in the fridge. The bed was extremely comfortable and quality of linen was excellent, there is an ensuite with a great shower and plenty of hot water to go with it. We stayed in November sadly the weather wasn't its best but the heating in the hut was excellent and the heated towel rail in the bathroom was a welcome addition so this Sheperds hut is certainly homely whatever the time of year. The parking facilities on site were ideal and felt secure, and the walk up to the elsanta hut was magical at night. The location of Strawberry Safari is perfect for discovering Yorkshire, Harrogate is only a 10 minute drive away and the drive to York took no time at all. Sadly we were only there for two nights but we could have happily stayed longer exploring the area and enjoying the comforts of the Elsanta hut. We genuinely look forward to going back again and trying out the new addition to the Strawberry Safari shepherds hut range. Thank you Claire and Andy for making our weekend stay so pleasant.

Spent three nights here during the UCI World Championships and couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Loved the hut which had everything we needed and was a very high standard and certainly kept us lovely and warm during the horrible weather! The hosts Claire and Andy were great and had a lovely touch of providing gluten free biscuits in our welcome pack. Great location with easy access to both Ripon and Harrogate and would certainly recommend a stay here.
