A lovely place to stay, very central with magnificent views . No car required.
The flat was just as described. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. It was lovely to sit at the window in the evening with a glass of wine and a view to die for. The flat is perfectly situated for visiting both the old citadel and the new part of the city. For me, at the age of 75, the only drawback was the number of stairs up to the apartment. It certainly made you think about what you needed before going out each day! However, it was worth the exercise. As well as Carcassonne, I was able to visit Limoux on the train for just 1euro. A car was certainly not needed. Inge was a wonderful hostess, picking me up from the station and taking me there for my return. Thank you Inge.

Great place!
The appartment exceeded our expectations! It was very well equipped and comfortable, absolutely ideal for two people, although it could sleep four. It is very well placed for exploring Carcassonne on foot, both the castle and the main town. Plenty of literature on hand with ideas of places to visit if you had no definite plans. We had hired a car and were worried about where to park, but we always found a space in the streets not too far away. Inga and Mick were exceptionally helpful and we liked them both immediately! Thoroughly recommended!

A very helpful host
Lovely apartment and we really appreciated the hosts helpfulness in collecting us from the airport and settling us in. The location was perfect as it was lovely to step out of the apartment and into the old cite. A great holiday!

Perfect escape
We visited Carcassone staying at Cite View (Monet) in September 2016, we had an amazing break. Not only was the view of the citadel from the apartment fantastic, the facilities and welcome we received were excellent and just what you need to make your break complete. We visited the local shop for fresh produce each morning and were always greeted with a smile. Being able to relax and enjoy our time together, visiting the old and new city and taking a trip along the canal was a nice tourist aspect, knowing we could return to a little haven was the best part of our trip and that's why we are heading back this year and hopefully seeing more of the region. I can highly recommend staying at Cite View for a break away and in the knowledge that Inga and Mick are close at hand, if needed.

Happiness
We stayed in this apartment for 5 nights in August and it was thoroughly enjoyable. It is a very cute apartment with a great kitchen and is very clean, organised and comfortable. It is located in a perfect spot -- so close to the citadel and also to the bastide. My son walked over the old bridge (Pont Vieux) every morning to attend his french language course and it could not have been more enchanting. Thanks to Inga for her warmth, availability and friendliness. Hope we can come back and stay next summer! Carcassonne is magnificent! And the view from the apartment simply spectacular.

Perfect Setting
Carcassonne in October is lovely and we enjoyed staying in the Monet apartment for several days. We truly appreciated having a real, functional kitchen since we wanted to try food from the farmers' market and local shops and make our own breakfasts. There is that French fantasy about skipping around the corner for fresh bread or croissants every day. The washing machine worked! Inga picked us up from the airport and after our visit took us to the train station. While driving, she gave us a good initial tour of the neighborhood. She is a very responsive inn keeper and helped in a variety of ways. We enjoyed the location of the apartment very much. The third story ( American ) flat was comfortable and roomy and QUIET. We did not have a car, so living on Rue de la Gaffe was perfect. We could be anywhere in 15 minutes. The steps up were not a problem for us. If mobility or apartment size is a problem, Inge and her husband own the other two flats in the building, so just ask and find something that fits your needs. The setting was wonderful. The Cite views are stunning and are even better at night. You can walk to the old town or new town in minutes. Restaurant 37 is a couple of blocks away. There is a tiny shop around the corner for eggs and fresh croissants every morning, the proprietor is very kind about mangled French and hand signals. A Da Vinci Code type of book was written about Carcassonne and the doomed Cathars- it is Labyrinth by Susan Mosse. Rue de la Gaffe is mentioned several times.

Inga collected us from the airport and gave useful information on the way. Great service. Apartment was very well equipped, bed and pillows very comfortable. Location was ideal. Although we did not have any problems we felt that Inga would respond immediately. The old city was almost Disney like but be prepared to pay £15 + a head for meals, cheapest lager was 5.8 Euros. Carcassonne is a bit crumbly at the edges but to me that is what appeals. We would definately go back but cook more in the apartment, supermarket prices very good for wine etc, and then enjoy the town later over a drink. You would do very well to book the Monet Apartments.

Excellent location
Only a few minutes walk from the old city and local shops and restaurants, the perfect location for a visit to Carcassonne. Unbelievable view from the window, a quiet and friendly neighbourhood. Facilities good and a friendly and helpful owner. Note (although we didn't have an issue with either of these facts), stairs are quite narrow and steep, could be difficult to access if your mobility is poor, satalite TV wasn't working and reception of Frenvh TV rather poor, the owner informed us there was a problem and offered a selection of DVDs if we wanted them. Decent broadband meant we could watch TV on an iPad.

We always strive to make sure our guests are happy with the accommodation and facilities we provide, however the reason why no UK tv is available at the moment is due to the fact that our dish cannot pick up the signal from the satelite in space. This is beyond our control. We offer our guests DVD's if they wish at any time during their stay.
