This apartment was located in the very centre of Madrid making it very easy to walk to many of the major places of interest. It was very clean and comfortable even though the kitchen and bathroom are very small. It was quite noisy outside but it didn't really bother us. Very meagre supplies of towels, loo rolls etc. was disappointing. Communication with the owner was perfect. Overall, I recommend this apartment.

Goya is centrally located off Plaça de Sol. The Metro is 2 minutes, bus 5 minutes, from the front door I used them to reach the outer neighborhoods including the Park Guell. Otherwise every site you probably wish to visit is walkable. Safe neighborhood with police station next! The flat is beautifully decorated. I had morning espresso sitting by one of the three windows that looked out into the neighborhood. It’s a mixed neighborhood of families and commercial. On the weekend, you’ll hear noise from Sol but not late into the night. A lot quieter on weekdays. Book it!

The 'excellent' was the location which is right in the centre of Madrid. The 'good' was the lounge area which was a comfortable airy space. The weather was cold and wet during our stay and the heating was very good. The '?' began on arrival when we requested a second set of keys to which the response was 'I'll see what I can do' or words to that effect. We heard nothing thereafter. On the first morning Wilma went for a shower and as soon as she attempted to adjust the fitting it fell apart. The top and bottom fittings that hold the main bar were loose. Surely the cleaner or previous tenants must have reported this? I tightened the fitting enough to have the shower head tilted in a manner that allowed us to use it. Also, small thin towels. The kitchen area is small and dangerous as you have to lean across a hot electric ring to reach the sink/tap. The problem is the fridge/freezer taking up too much of the limited space. The advice on how to operate the locks was useful. Good, but could be better.

This unit is in a fantastic location very close to Plaza del Sol. Yes, this is a noisy area, given that Madrid never sleeps. However, we did NOT find this a problem because once you shut the double-windows and shutters inside becomes surprisingly quiet !! We had very good sleep here, despite the bed being small. Communication with the staff who mange this property can be challenging if you don't speak Spanish. We had difficulty using the key in the street-access door, which lost us half a day before staff could get a replacement key to us. My tip is make sure the staff show you exactly how to use the door access key. They tried to make our stay as good as possible and were quite responsive. The apartment is expensive, the bathroom is extremely small and narrow, but then you are getting a good central location with lots of good outside atmosphere. Communication after booking can be a little frustrating - this apartment is part of a letting business that lets out lots of apartments and they tend to get you mixed up with other tenants. Also, they refuse to tell you the exact location of the apartment until 2 weeks before your arrival - this is very annoying for planning purposes especially if you are traveling prior to getting there.

Great location near del Sol, lovely apartment, nice furnishings, linens etc. Everything worked (no English TV or HD....the first night there was a big Futball game and the Spanish sports channel wouldn't come in because there was no HD....a minor complaint). It is noisy, earplugs and shutters helped. Didn't bother us too much. We had a wonderful 5 days there.

An excellent experience. The apartment is close to all the important visitor attractions and transportation. The Prado, Thyssen Art Gallery, National Gallery, Royal palace are all within a 20 minute walk away. Puerto del Sol and Gran Via are just a few steps away, and the Sol Metro stop is similarly close and gives easy access the the main Atocha rail hub. The apartment is situated on a pedestrian street with a number of good restaurants for all tastes including a good vegetarian restaurant close by in the next street. The one drawback of the convenience of these establishments is that folks in Madrid dine very late and the noise continues into the early hours of the night and cannot be shut out in spite of the apartments double-paned windows and shutters! Unless you are a very light sleeper you get used to it after a few nights. But you feel very safe since there is a police station right next door and most of the time there are one or more police cars parked right at the door. The inside of the apartments is quite roomy with comfortable living room furniture and a functioning, though a little slow WIFI connection. The kitchen is adequate, but the arrangement of the fridge and dishwasher is such that it makes reaching some of the cabinets very difficult. Also, we are a couple and the lack of a second key was frustrating. Also, a warning to those with physical disabilities; although there is a functioning elevator, there are steps in the entry lobby that need to be negotiated before reaching the elevator to reach the apartment on the 2nd floor. Overall, the apartment is highly recommended.

The apartment is beautifully decorated and contains everything you will need for a relaxing stay. One special feature we most enjoyed during our stay was the full-size refrigerator and dual air conditioners. Due to a severe heat wave, a cool apartment with cold drinks and plenty of ice was most welcome after a day of sightseeing. As to location, everything you will require is within a few minutes walk . This includes groceries, shopping, subway, train to Montserrat, hop-on-hop-off, major plazas and many restaurants. We recommend Marga's Goya apartment with great enthusiasm and hope to return soon.
