Pluses – helpful proprietor; proximity to metro station, shops, sights, and eateries; comfortable, self-sufficient, and clean apartment.
Minus – no elevator.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this nice one bedroom apartment one block away from the Spanish Steps. We were delayed at FCO getting to the apartment, but Anna and Carlo waited for us. Upon check-in, Carlo methodically and patiently went through all the particulars about the apartment, even though they are also contained in a multi-language red binder. One cannot ask for a better location for a vacation apartment. It is walking distance to Spanish Steps, Villa Borghese, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and Navona Piazza (we like to walk). The Metro (line A) is only about 5 minutes away. Being close to Spanish Steps got noisy at times, but with the shutters closed, the apartment became our sanctuary after each hectic day of shopping, sight-seeing, or exploring.
Notes – (1) There are about 50 stair steps to the second level apartment, which may not agree with heavy and bulky luggage. (2) The sofa bed in the living room can be converted into a second queen size bed. (3) TV does not have HDMI or other external input. (4) Supermarket is about 5-10 minutes away, depending on pace. (5) Transportation to FCO: option (a) Metro A from Spagna to Roma Termini (1.50 Euro) and Leonardo da Vinci airport express train to FCO (14.00 Euro); option (b) taxi (48 Euro).
