This is a charming, rustic cottage, attached to a larger house. If you're looking for a quiet hideaway off the beaten track, this place might be for you. It's not luxuriously appointed (the cooking equipment is a double hotplate and small toaster oven), and it may be problematical for anyone with mobility issues (the upstairs double bedroom is accessible by something more like a ladder than stairs!). But it's still a delightful little place surrounded by fruit trees and fields. The walk along the aqueduct to Évora, which is adjacent to the cottage, is lovely. The older Maria, who lives next door and was there some of the time that we were, is also very nice and very helpful. We were there in October, and it got a bit chilly: the wood-burning stove works well and provides some good warmth to the living area and bedrooms. It's about a 10-15 minute drive into Évora, partly down a rather rutted track. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to anyone looking to be away from the madding crowd.
