Uma quinta muito bonita e bem localizada, não muito afastada de Viana do Castelo. Os quartos super limpos com casa de banho privativa. Cozinha equipada que permite preparar refeições. Éramos um grupo de 12 pessoas mas ainda ficaram 2 quartos por ocupar! A envolvente é muito agradável! De certo voltaremos. A internet não esteve a funcionar mas pelo que soubemos tinha sido avaria geral na aldeia. Recomendo!!!

Magnífica, todo un lujo para las sensaciones. Todo lo necesario y más y cuidado hasta el último detalle. Atención amabilísima atenta y discreta. Puedes pasar los días completamente encerrado en sus paredes, jardines y finca, con flores, árboles, frutales, paseos, camelios, naranjos... es espectacular. La casa también lo tiene todo, incluso una suite separada con salón. El comedor formal es impresionante, aunque donde mejor lo pasamos es en la cocina, con su lareira y amplias mesas. No podría más que recomendarla, aunque me gustaría mantenerla en secreto para poder disfrutarla a menudo. La comunicación y gestión perfecta

Not easy to find a place that could host five couples. Good friends for some decades. We wanted to stay together but to have privacy. Hotel is not our first priority because we like to spend time together and cook dinner together. Surprisingly we had found the ultimate place! Quinta do Bento Novo, in the small village Perre, is 10 minutes drive from Viana do Castello and 20 minutes from Punto de Lima. Very good location for nature and beach lovers. That's the location, but the real issue is the house and it's hosts. The owner had inherited two 400 years old massive houses surrounded by 2 hectares of fields and nature. Paolo, an engineer by profession had decided with his wife to invest a huge amount of money and transformed the houses and the garden to a small piece of heaven. Each room is en suite, furnished with old genuine wood furnitures. The kitchen is amazingly big with a huge table for ten people and fully equipped. An ancient granite fireplace on top of the modern central heating system. Living rooms of different sizes. The fruit salad we had prepared was made out of the garden fruits including the kiwi fruit. So was the mixed vegetables salad. Swimming pool with fresh cold nature water is for the bold ones who will dare to get in during September. We had breakfast every morning that was prepared with real love by the house keeper. Simply perfect for a group of friends or grandparents and endless siblings and grandchildren surrounding them. C. Sehr zu empfehlen! Rustikales Landhaus umgeben von Obstgärten, Quellenwasser, Liegewiesen. Sehr freundlicher Service, üppiges Frühstück und sehr sauber. Obst darf zur eigenen Verwendung uneingeschränkt gepflückt werden.

We had never been to Northern Portugal, but went with an open mind, looking for a family holiday without too much tourist trappings. The house was great, the granite (I can't say pool, as it was something a bit different) water feature was great for the kids, though a little cold after a while. But it was certainly refreshing! The owner and staff were great, and we arrived in festival season, heading to the fireworks. There was live music too. Seems the towns and villages in the area put on festivals in late July. But I don't suppose it would be too easy to find out when if you're researching from England or elsewhere, as not a lot of locals spoke English, which was kinda nice. Like a real holiday abroad I suppose! The Vinho Verde was very reasonably priced, came with a cork, and was good. Local beaches with lots of white sand dunes, rock pools, sea not too child friendly but some beaches more sheltered than others, and plenty in the local area. We had a few good days out, Ponte de Lima was great, and with a good pool by the gardens. Overall it was a nice part of the world, nice place to stay. Give it a go. Arrive at the right time and you'll have lots of oranges to harvest each day for breakfast!

We were at Quinta Bento Novo (QBN) with a group of dear friends--most of whom we had traveled with before--in the US and once in France. We had 4 rental vehicles among 6 couples and the flexibility this allowed for coming and going--as a whole group, or in small groups--was good. A smaller number of cars would work fine, but we came from 4 different trip directions to get to QBN. The complex "micro-climate" farm is a wonder. We picked or salvaged oranges and lemons, garden produce, made OJ, and lemon juice. We had roses and other flowers (that we gathered) on our tables for many meals. Just wandering around the grounds and experiencing the beauty and variety of flora was a treat. We took advantage of a grill for meat and fish. Our best meals at the 'farm" (quinta) were those that we made ourselves, but we did appreciate the option of having meals made for us the first and second nights we were there. Our host and quinta part-owner, Paulo, was congenial and extremely helpful in many ways. He spoke English well--much better than any of us spoke Portugese. Can't end without saying the spring-fed pool (1 m. deep, @ 8 m. long and 4.5 m. wide) was a great refuge from the heat (when it was hot) and became a regular gathering place for all of us to sit, read, sun, talk, and relax.

The Bento Novo is an unusual place. If you like going back in time when on holiday, be with friends and family, and be surrounded by a stunning garden, this will work well for you. We were mixed group of up to 14 and for that number the facilities, rooms etc worked out well. The place is huge and you’ll find so many magical spaces, in and out doors, for everybody to find their spot. The natural ‘pool’ was perfect to stand in and cool off. In the evenings we often had the BBQ blazing and cooked up a storm. Breakfast with fresh bread, eggs (from the quinto’s own chickens), and unlimited fresh orange juice set us up every day. The house was kept spotlessly and we felt both save and homely. Getting there, just follow the big blue signs ‘ tourismo rual’, they lead you straight in. 15 min drive out of Viana and supermarket ‘pingo doce’ even closer. On the down side the TV did not get us to see Wimbledon- extra costs for cable. As we were blessed with extremely hot weather, an extra fridge to cool the drinks would have been much appreciated. You will need a car and the walking from the house is a bit limited.

Quinta do Bento Novo is een heerlijk Bed and Breakfast in het Noorden van Portugal. Met veel zorg worden de gasten onthaald. De inrichting is ontzettend mooi. Alles is aanwezig. Je kunt gebruik maken van de grote algemene ruimten én van de enorme tuinvol met bomen (sinaasappelen, citroenen en mandarijnen), hibiscus. Een geweldig uitzicht dus. Tevens buitenplaast om te BBQen. Waterreservoirs waarin gedompeld kan worden. Het ontbijt is uitgebreid met vers geperst sap, eigengemaakte jammetjes en lekker brood. Alle kamers hebben 2p bedden met 1 groot matras, goede kwaliteit, maar wij slapen daar altijd wat minder op.

This place is a little bit out of town, but worth the distance. It's a gorgeous old property, beautiful granite foundations, very sympathetically restored, comfy rooms, good beds. You get to use the kitchen, with good appliances and also a lovely TV-reading room. When we visited, we were the only ones in the big house, so it was so quiet. The gardens are quite large and with a variety of edible fruit and nuts, that we were encouraged to help ourselves with. The internet was down while we were there, but there is a small cafe, a couple of kilometres down the road with excellent connection, and good coffee too!

Excellent hospitality, beautiful house in a quiet, very relaxing setting. Very good access to Viana do Castelo, the Minho coast, Ponte de Lima, etc. Overall a very pleasant stay, would definitely stay again.
