Can’t recommend this very unique cave house enough on the hill side of Santorini, overlooking Kamari beach and the island beyond. There were 6 in our group and we absolutely loved it. The house guide explained a lot and Sarah and Petros were very helpful. BBQ in the courtyard got a lot of use as did the local restaurants and the pool. It was nice to come back to a slightly less hectic location after being out for the day. Definitely worth a visit if your looking for a very unique experience on Santorini.

Awesome Experience
We had a lovely time here. The cavern was spacious & well equipped for our party of 4 adults.
Washing machine/full sized fridge/freezer a bonus. The owner had arranged for essential groceries for our first night which was very much appreciated.
It would have been useful to have had a small supply of laundry detergent available.
The knee deep splash pool on the upper terrace was lovely after a day out with spectacular views from here.
Airconditioning worked well & kept the bedrooms & cavern cool 24/7. However, you must remember to empty the water overflow pipes from each unit regularly to avoid overflowing as these have not been plumbed in.
Petros the caretaker was fabulous and responded to our queries quickly. He provided us with information and went over & above to ensure we had a good time.
The beds in all bedrooms were doubles. The bed in the master room fitted with head & foot boards. This made it difficult for us as we are tall. Unfortunately, we had to use all three beds as the beds were too small for us. The fitted sheets were too small for the beds and slipped off during the night. It would have been beneficial to have had a change of sheets once during our 8 day stay.
There were plenty of towels & beach towels. It would have been great to have some small beach chairs & umbrellas.
The 2 minor bedrooms were compact. The master bedroom was large but in our opinion lacked sufficient hanging space.
The ensuite bathroom was spacious but lacked hanging space & somewhere to place toiletries. A shelf or floor standing cabinet would bebefit. The second bathroom with shower was well appointed.
A car is an absolute must for getting around. Especially when purchasing groceries as there isn’t anywhere within walking distance to purchase essentials.
The local restaurant - Metaxi Mas is superb & within walking distance.
In addition to the beds being too small for our group, unfortunately the water pump supplying the cavern is located directly above the master bedroom. This turns on/off frequently throughout the night and disturbed our sleep. This was remedied after bringing it to the attention of the owner who arranged for the caretaker to switch it off at midnight and back on at 8am every day. The taps to the basin in the ensuite bathroom were loose upon arrival. This was also reported to the owner/caretaker but this could not be repaired during our stay.

Beautiful Cavern House
We have just returned from a fantastic week staying at Cavern House Anthea. The house is beautiful. Sarah the owner has thought of everything. Air con in all three bedrooms, firm comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen, lots of white fluffy towels and also cotton sun-bed sheets. Because the house is in a cave it stays really cool. The plunge pool was bigger than what we expected and the terrace is lovely also to sit in the evening with a glass of wine. There’s two good local restaurants a short walk from the house and a really good supermarket 5-10 minutes drive away. The village of Pyrgos is a must see with a great little bakery for fresh bread and small pastries.

Wonderful Stay at Cavern House Anthea on beautiful Santorini
We all had a fantastic family holiday at Easter on our first visit to Santorini. Our stay at the Cavern House Anthea was lovely. It is beautifully renovated, well equipped and has lots of character. The central location is great, away from the more commercial busy tourist hot spots. The views from the upper pool terrace are amazing. There are two villages and a choice of great tavernas within walking distance. Our host, Sarah, was terrific. Very helpful and couldn’t have done more to make our stay a memorable and enjoyable holiday. Thank you!

Perfect break from it all
Our stay at Cavern House Anthea was just perfect and Sarah the owner was very helpful. The property is really well finished with a courtyard with overflowing bougainvillea, white walls and painted shutters, it was like a little movie set! Inside was very nice and we really appreciated the cool temparature inside due to the natural rock setting. The location is really good in ExoGonia as its close to everything and looks down over the land towards the beach, it was easy to walk to Pyrgos also in about 10 minutes for some fantastic views of the caldera at sunset and restaurants.

Wish we could have stayed longer
While searching for our next vacation rental we kept coming back to this villa, and we are so glad that we ended up booking it. It was perfect for our needs and spotlessly clean. Inside the house was nice and cool with everything we needed, and the outside space with its sun terrace and the dip in pool was perfect for cooling off and sunbathing. We also had a lovely BBQ one night in the courtyard. The owner and property manager went above and beyond, organising for us car hire a boat trip and taverna reservations. We visited two tavernas in the village, and they were both easily the best meals we had while on the island. We loved that we were close enough to all the main attractions, but could retreat back to our quiet house in this laid back part of the island at the end of the day. We hope to return.

Incredible
This villa was the perfect location for a group of us who wanted to see as much of Santorini as we could. We were an affordable distance away from the capital, and our car organised by Sarah got us to everywhere else we needed to be. The best holiday we have all ever been on.

Cool Cave House
Cave house Anthea is a total gem. It is spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The decoration and ingenious use of space is amazing. It’s pool is very welcome in the heat of the day.The house is just a short walk away from an excellent restaurant. All in all this property has total WOW factor!

Beyond our expectations
We are a family of six and had been dreaming about this travel for a long time, but the outcome definitely exceeded our expectations.
The house is a traditional one: stunningly nice and comfortable and very spacious as well. Every room is equipped with A/C, which is sometimes life-saving as it tends to get humid at night.
The housekeeper is super kind and helped us plan our activities for the whole week, always being at disposal for any need we might have had (plus he brings in fresh and tasty bread daily).
The view from the balcony is beautiful and at sunset you basically get to see a postcard right before your eyes while chilling on the hammock or on the sofas.
The property's position is strategic as it's located right in the middle of the island and every interesting spot can be easily reached by car, though you can even walk to the tourist centre through hiking paths that start 0.5 miles away from the villa (that will keep you in shape).
The description perfectly matches with the equipment as nothing misses and the Wi-Fi works well around the house (except for the balcony).
The pool has the perfect size for relaxing with a drink, but won't suit you if you are looking for one to actually swim inside.
Also the owner is very helpful, providing the info you may need and answering all the questions you pose.
All told, this is an absolutely recommendable and beautiful property and hopefully we will be soon back at it.
