My husband, daughter and I stayed here in summer 2022. This cottage was perfect for our needs. It was spotlessly clean on our arrival and fully equipped with everything we needed for a self-catering break in the Peak District. My daughter was delighted that Neil allowed us to follow him for part of his morning jobs and we all enjoyed finding out more about life on a working farm. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property and will definitely book again!

What a beautiful cottage! We have just come back from a weekend away here. The kids loved being on a working farm looking out of the window at breakfast and seeing sheep looking back at you. The cottage had everything you could need and more the kitchen was fully equipped and there were plenty of toys books and DVDs for the kids. The cottage was beautiful clean and tidy. I would highly recommend. ☺️

Fernyford Farm 10/10 They have never had a bad review and never will....If you want the cleanest cottage with every facility catered for, the most amazing views a bonus. Got kids then the play area is amazing even for adults who think they’re kids... Love animals then a huge tick, want to get involved on the farm you can, safely. Want to learn about animal farming you will. Want to eat the tastiest and we’ll raised meat then buy from here. Best of all you will get all of this if you want from the nicest friendliest most honest hosts Dorota Neil Barney and all the family. Oh and the dogs especially new adorable border collie puppy (no name as yet). and Twinkle the cat too of course. Thankyou for an amazing week and Thankyou for quad bike rides to check out the sheep. We usually holiday in Derbyshire but Staffordshire is so beautiful. We WILL be back Thankyou again and good luck.

Have visited this holiday cottage twice now, each time our stay has been absolutely wonderful. The cottage is brilliantly equipped with everything you could possibly need. Immaculately clean, and beautifully decorated, with wonderfully comfortable furnishings, particularly the king sized bed in the main bedroom. The photos do not do the place justice. Surrounded by beautiful and peaceful countryside. A perfect place for couples or families alike, children would love the sheep, cows, sheepdogs, and also “Sparkle” the very friendly farmyard cat! Dorota and Neil are very welcoming hosts. We will certainly be back again in the future.

What an amazing place, We could not find anything about Fernyford that we would change. Fabulous accommodation in an amazing location, peaceful & with beautiful views. Have never known such an immaculate cottage,so well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Neil & Dorota are lovely people who make you feel so welcome, nothing is too much trouble. Our girls have rated this the " Best holiday ever " they loved the tour of the farm, & ride on the quad bike, the friendly working dogs, sheep & cows grazing on the doorstep, red deer, the cutest farm cat Sparkle who they still miss & to top it all, a fantastic play area with the best zip wire ever. Already looking at dates for next year !! It has been a very strange & somewhat stressful year so far but after a week here feel totally chilled. Everything we wanted to see was in easy reach & sitting out on the peaceful patio with only the sound of the sheep was the perfect end to the day. Thank yo do much to Neil & Dorota for everything.

Fernyford barn is a superb place in so many respects. My brother and I stayed here for 4 nights in October and had a lovely, relaxing stay. As soon as we approached Fernyford we knew it was special. The barn is set in gorgeous countryside and is part of a working farm. We were warmly welcomed by the owner, Dorota and she informed us that she was available if we had any issues. We didn`t as the place was great! The barn itself was immaculate-I have never stayed in such a spotlessly clean place.It was beautifully renovated-and there is a photobook detailing the restoration from a barn to a holiday cottage. The fixtures and furnishings were of a high standard and very comfortable. The lounge is comfy and has a large screen TV which we enjoyed watching at night. There were a selcection of DVDs, books and games alongside leaflets about local attractions and an OS map. Wifi is available. We loved watching the sheep from the lounge window-as where they graze comes right down to the window and they sometimes peered in at us! The kitchen is great-fully equipped and we cooked in it every morning and evening-everything we needed was available. There are extra freezer facilities upon request. We had done our own shopping in Aldi in Bakewell, but we wish we had waited as produce is available to purchase from the farm. There is a good sized dining area in between the kitchen and lounge. The 2 bedrooms were of a good size-the best views being from the twin room-it overlooked the back garden and beyond. The beds were so comfy-the mattresses were memory foam and we slept like logs! It is also very peaceful at night. The shower was great-hot and really stylish! The location was great to visit all the attractions we wanted to-we went to Chatsworth, Buxton, Bakewell and the Monsal trail. The nearby villages were so pretty and we found a couple of good nearby pubs! I highly recommend this place for a relaxing and perfect stay.

We enjoyed our stay at the farm. As you’re entering the property there are panoramic views of the Peak District. The cottage itself is renovated and incredibly clean (immaculate in fact). The kitchen is modern and full equipped with all of the amenities. The beds are comfortable. On good weather days we made it easily to visit Chatsworth and Dovedale for hikes. We also visited Tissington Hall and Haddon Hall. It’s a good location for seeing the Peak District. It was nice to come back to the cottage and put on the fire and TV, very relaxing. Each morning we would wake up and see shape grazing outside the window. There is a gravel path to get into the property but it’s manageable if you drive slowly. Recommended.

The cottage is hidden away down a farm track with the beautiful view of the Derby shire dales. It is an incredibly well equipped , clean, modern cottage which is perfect for a couple or family. A great selection of children’s DVD’s and books/ toys for when you want some peace and quiet. There is a great outdoor play area with a treehouse, swings, zip line and trampoline and some resident sheep ! Neil and Dorota were perfect hosts and introduced us to the farm animals and took our daughter on the quad to round up the sheep which she loved. Buxton, Bakewell, Dovedale and Ilam Park all within 20-30 mins drive. There is a choice of traffic free cycle trails and walks perfect for families. If you want a relaxing, outdoor holiday even if the weather isn’t great then this is an amazing place.

We had a relaxing week at Fernyford. The accomodation was exceptional clean and the owners welcoming but not in your face. We managed to chose the week it poured with rain but we found things to do every day. The accomodation being nicely located for access to all the usual tourist hot spots ( Bakewell, Buxton, Chatsworth, etc ). Neil and Dorota kindly gave us a tour and our eldest was beaming after getting a ride up to see the cows. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed a week in this beautiful cottage. From the moment we stepped through the door, we knew we had chosen a really lovely property for our holiday. It had everything we needed and was modern, cosy and comfortable. Our two boys (4 and 6) really loved playing in the tree house and we all had lots of fun on the zip slide. From the moment we arrived, Dorota and Neil made us feel very welcome and we particularly enjoyed eating the delicious meat and eggs that were available to purchase from the farm. We had a very enjoyable stay and would highly recommend this cottage. It was perfect.
